Hold Your Company AGM by 28 October 2026: Reported SECP Deadline for June Year End Companies in Pakistan
SECP is reported to have set 28 October 2026 for June year end companies to hold the AGM, then file Form A or 24 and Form 19. See the plan and exemptions.

Short answer: SECP has reported a deadline of 28 October 2026 for companies whose financial year ended on 30 June 2026 to hold their annual general meeting (AGM). The annual return and the beneficial owner filing follow the meeting. Small private companies with no changes are reported to be exempt from the annual return.
If your company's year ends on 30 June, the AGM is due four months later, which is about 120 days. That date falls on 28 October this year. Directors who miss it can face late filing fees and notices. This guide gives a short plan for the 15 days left.
SECP's website refused automated requests from us on 13 October 2026, so we could not read the notice itself. The dates and forms below are reported by news items that quote SECP, and we mark them as reported. Please confirm each one on SECP's notice or in eServices before you act.
Who must hold an AGM by 28 October
The reported notice applies to companies with a financial year ended 30 June 2026. Such companies must hold their AGM within 120 days of the year end, which is 28 October 2026. After the meeting they file the annual return and the beneficial owner declaration.
A company with a different year end, such as 31 December or 31 March, has a different date. Count 120 days from your own year end and check with your company secretary.
| Item | Reported position |

Plan the next 15 days in order
An AGM needs notice to members, an agenda and a quorum. The company's own articles and the law set the notice period. We did not read it at source, so ask your company secretary how many clear days you need before you send the notice.
- Check your year end and count 120 days to find your own deadline.
- Confirm the audited accounts are ready or will be ready for the meeting.
- Send the notice and agenda to every member in the form your articles require.
- Hold the meeting and record the minutes.
- File the annual return and the beneficial owner form after the meeting.

File the right annual return form
The reported rule is simple. If the particulars of the company have changed since the last return, file Form A. If nothing has changed, file Form 24. The steps and fees are in the guide to filing the company annual return with SECP.
A change in directors is reported separately. See the guide to reporting a director change on Form 29 if a director joined or left this year.
Do not forget the beneficial owner form
Companies are reported to need an annual check of their ultimate beneficial owners. That means issuing notices, getting declarations, updating the register and filing Form 19 with the annual return. Where no annual return is needed, Form 19 is reported to be due within 30 days of the end of the calendar year.
The full process is in the guide to finding beneficial owners and filing Form 19.
What directors should have ready on meeting day
A meeting runs smoothly when the papers are ready. Bring the audited accounts, the directors' report, the auditor's report and the list of members. Keep the attendance sheet and sign the minutes soon after. These papers are also what you need when you fill in the return form, so keep one set in a single folder.
If a director cannot attend, check your articles for rules on proxies and on joining by video. We did not read the rules at source, so do not assume either is allowed.
Check whether your company is exempt
The notice is reported to exempt single-member companies and private companies with paid-up capital of not more than Rs 3 million from the annual return, if there is no change in the particulars of the last return. This exempts the return, not the duty to keep accounts. Do not assume the AGM duty is also removed. Ask your adviser, and read SECP's text.
New companies should know the full duty cycle from the start. The guide to registering a private limited company explains the first steps.
