Home Internet Down Today in Pakistan: 5 Checks and Every Helpline for PTCL, StormFiber, Nayatel, Transworld and Optix
Home internet down today? Check mobile data, router lights and neighbours, then call PTCL 1218, StormFiber, Nayatel 1441, Transworld 1837 or Optix. All here.

If your home internet is down today, check three things first: whether mobile data still works on your phone, what the lights on your router show, and whether neighbours on the same company are also offline. Then call your provider: PTCL 1218, StormFiber 111-1-78676, Nayatel 1441, Transworld 1837 or Optix 021-11-11-67849. The checks tell you whether the fault is yours, your street's or the whole country's.
No Pakistani home internet company we checked publishes a live outage map. So the fastest answer comes from a few quick tests and the right number. We read the support pages of StormFiber, Nayatel, Transworld and Optix on 24 October 2026, and the PTCL contacts below come from PTCL's own pages as we read them on 30 September 2026. Here is the full routine, every helpline, and when to go to PTA.
Is the internet down for everyone, or only at your home?
Turn off WiFi on your phone and open a website on mobile data. If it loads, the internet as a whole is working and the problem is your home connection. If mobile data also fails, the outage is wider, or mobile service is suspended in your area.
| What you find | What it usually means | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile data works, home WiFi does not | Fault on your home line or router | Check router lights, then call your provider |
| Neighbours on the same company are also down | Area fault, often a cut fibre cable | Register a complaint and wait for the fix |
| Home internet and mobile data both slow | Wider issue, such as an international cable fault | Wait; your provider can confirm |
| Mobile data dead, home WiFi fine | Mobile service suspended or SIM issue | Use WiFi; see what still works |
| Only one device offline | That device, not the line | Restart or reset its network settings |
Mobile suspensions are a different problem from a home line fault. What still works during one is set out in mobile internet suspended in Pakistan.

Five checks for home internet that is down
Look at the router or ONT lights, restart it, try a cable, and check the bill. These four steps clear most home faults. If you see a red light, or the line is still down after a restart, stop and register a complaint with your provider.
- Look at the box your provider installed. A red light, or no light on the fibre or internet indicator, points to a line fault.
- Switch it off for about 30 seconds, turn it back on and wait two or three minutes.
- Connect a laptop with a LAN cable. If the cable works, the line is fine and the problem is WiFi.
- Check that the bill is paid. Prepaid providers such as Transworld suspend service as soon as it runs out.
- Ask a neighbour on the same provider. If they are down too, it is an area fault.
StormFiber's help centre is clear on step 1: a blinking red light on its ONT means a fibre disconnection that only StormFiber can repair. The full StormFiber routine, with its light meanings and speed advice, is in StormFiber internet not working. Do not press the small reset hole on the back of any router. It can wipe the connection settings your provider set up.

Every home internet helpline in Pakistan
Each company runs its own complaint line, and most also take complaints on WhatsApp or in an app. Always note the complaint number they give you. You need it to chase the fault and, if it drags on, to escalate to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
| Provider | Helpline | Other channels |
|---|---|---|
| PTCL and Flash Fiber | 1218 | WhatsApp 0331 2181218 (send "Hi", type 3), care@ptcl.net.pk |
| StormFiber | Area code + 111-1-78676, 24/7 | helpdesk@stormfiber.com |
| Nayatel | 1441, press 1 for technical (24/7) | WhatsApp +92 51 111 11 44 44, SMS 8116, My Nayatel app |
| Transworld Home | 1837, 24/7 | csd@tes.com.pk, UAN 111-837-837 |
| Optix | 021-11-11-67849, 24/7 | WhatsApp on the same number, MyOptix app |
Nayatel's FAQ says a technical complaint can be filed in the My Nayatel app under Support, then Requirements/Complaints, then Technical. Optix tracks complaints in the MyOptix app. For PTCL, the step-by-step WhatsApp menu and the bill and complaint status options are in PTCL complaint on 1218 or WhatsApp.

Signs of a wider internet outage across Pakistan
When several companies slow down at once, or only some foreign websites fail, the cause is often outside your home: a cut fibre cable or a fault on an international submarine cable. Your provider cannot speed that up, but it can confirm the cause when you call.
Pakistan has seen this before. In September 2026, PTA blamed a fibre cable cut for an outage in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, as reported in the Islamabad and Rawalpindi internet outage. Signs that it is wider than your home:
- Friends on different companies report the same problem at the same time.
- Local websites open, but international ones such as video and gaming servers are slow.
- Mobile data is also slow, not just home WiFi.
- Your router lights look normal and a LAN cable gives the same slow result.
Run a speed test on a cable and save the result with the time. If the slowdown lasts, those records are what PTA will want to see.
Unpaid bills and suspensions look like an outage
A suspended account looks exactly like a dead line. Transworld bills in advance, StormFiber and Optix suspend after non-payment, and the internet simply stops. Check your provider's app or portal before calling, because a payment fixes it faster than a complaint.
Transworld offers a free 24 hour restore while you pay: call 1837, choose your language, enter your customer ID and press 3. Optix says its bill is generated on the 1st and due on the 11th of each month. StormFiber adds a late payment surcharge after the due date. If you paid but the account still shows unpaid, keep the receipt and send it to the provider's billing team.
When to take your complaint to PTA
Go to PTA only after your provider has had a fair chance to fix the fault and has failed. PTA's process starts with the company: you complain to the provider first, then file with PTA and quote the provider's complaint or reference number.
PTA regulates every licensed internet company in Pakistan, and its rules set minimum speeds and service standards. How to file with PTA, and what to attach, is in the PTA telecom complaint guide. If the line works but is slow, our page on getting 80 per cent of the advertised speed explains the standard under PTA's rules.
Common questions
How do I know if PTCL internet is down today?
Check whether mobile data works, look at the router lights, and ask a neighbour on PTCL. Then call 1218 or use WhatsApp 0331 2181218. PTCL does not publish a live outage map that we found.
Is there an internet outage map for Pakistan?
None of the companies we checked, StormFiber, Nayatel, Transworld and Optix, publishes one. Your provider's helpline is the fastest way to confirm an area fault.
What does a red light on my router mean?
On StormFiber's ONT it means a fibre disconnection, according to its help centre. On most fibre boxes, a red or blinking fibre light points to a line fault that needs a complaint.
What is the Nayatel complaint number?
1441, then press 1 for technical support, which runs 24 hours. Nayatel also takes queries on WhatsApp at +92 51 111 11 44 44 and by SMS on 8116.
Should I reset my router when the internet is down?
Restart it by switching it off and on. Do not press the reset hole, which can erase the connection settings and leave you waiting for a technician.
Can I complain to PTA directly?
Register with your provider first and keep the complaint number. PTA's process asks you to quote that number when you file, and PTA then forwards the matter to the provider.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 24 October 2026. We read StormFiber's help centre and contact page, Nayatel's contact page and FAQ, Transworld Home's FAQ and customer care page, and Optix's contact page and FAQ, all on 24 October 2026. PTCL's website would not load for our tools on 24 October, so the PTCL numbers come from PTCL's own contact and WhatsApp pages as we read them on 30 September 2026. The 30 second restart and the "is it just me" checks are our general advice. We found no live outage map from any of these companies.
