Islamabad Police Online Appointment: Book a Khidmat Markaz Slot for Character Certificate, FIR Copy or Licence

Islamabad Police now takes online appointments for its Police Khidmat Markaz (PKM) counters at soft.islamabadpolice.gov.pk/appointment. You pick one of 14 bookable services, choose a centre and a 15 minute slot, enter your CNIC with its issue date and your mobile number, and get an Appointment ID in the format APT-XXXXXXXX with a QR code. Booking is free; the service fee is paid at the counter.

The link sits in the Services menu of islamabadpolice.gov.pk as "Book Online Appointment". We went through the booking screens on 24 October 2026 and read the live list of services, centres and open slots the system publishes, without making a booking.

Here is which centre offers what, how far ahead you can book, and what to do on the day.

You can book 14 of the 15 listed PKM services online

The system lists 15 services, from character certificates to driving licence renewal, and 14 of them had at least one centre taking bookings on 24 October 2026. The 15th, NOC, showed no centre at all. Every slot is 15 minutes long.

Licence work has been moving online in Islamabad since licence renewals and learner permits went online on 19 October, so the appointment is the step that gets you to the counter for the test, photo and printing.

Eleven centres take bookings, and two run 24 hours

PKM F-6, near the Islamabad Press Club, and PKM Cascade are listed as open 24 hours. Cascade is marked "Only for Diplomatic Enclave Residents", so for most people F-6 is the round-the-clock choice. The other nine keep daytime hours.

Traffic HQ appears only for licence services. Chamber of Commerce G-8 is the one centre with a phone number in the system: 0313-5019923. More on each centre, including walk-in services, is in our list of Police Khidmat Markaz centres in Islamabad.

Slots open from tomorrow up to about 45 days ahead

The booking calendar starts from the next day, not today, and runs about 45 days ahead, based on the dates the system offers. Each day shows as available, fully booked, or off. Sundays showed as closed at G-14/4, while Saturdays were open.

When we checked PKM G-14/4 for character certificates on 24 October 2026, Monday 26 October had 32 slots between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, and 3 were already taken. PKM F-6 offered 87 slots across the same day and night. Demand is light for now, so a slot this week is realistic.

If no slot suits you, the screen says "No slots left for this day. Please choose another date." Try F-6, which has the most capacity.

Booking takes five steps and ends with an APT number

You choose the service, then the centre, then a date and time, then enter your details. The system confirms with an Appointment ID, shown as APT followed by eight characters, plus a QR code you show at check-in.

1. Open the booking page and choose the facilitation service you need.
2. Pick a centre from the list. 24 hour centres appear first.
3. Pick a date on the calendar, then a free 15 minute slot.
4. Enter your full name, CNIC number and the CNIC issue date printed on the card, plus a mobile number in the 03XX-XXXXXXX format. Foreigners can choose passport and an international mobile number instead.
5. Confirm, then save or print the confirmation page with the APT number and QR code.

The CNIC issue date matters more than it looks. The system uses it, with the APT number, to let you find, reschedule or cancel the booking later. Rescheduling keeps the same service and centre; only the date and time change.

Bring originals and the fee, because the slot is not the service

The confirmation tells you to arrive on time with your original CNIC or passport and keep a printed copy for check-in. For driving licence services, come 15 minutes early for the mandatory medical examination. Fees are paid at the counter.

Bring whatever the service itself needs. A character certificate costs Rs 1,000 and takes 3 working days, and if your CNIC does not show an Islamabad address you also need an affidavit and proof of residence, according to Islamabad Police. A copy of FIR costs Rs 200, takes one working day, and only the complainant who filed the FIR can apply.

For tenant registration, the papers are listed in our steps to register a tenant with Islamabad Police. For a lost CNIC or documents, the lost report is free.

The booking site only asks for your name, CNIC, issue date, phone and optional notes. Nobody from Islamabad Police needs your bank details or an OTP to confirm an appointment, so ignore any call or message that asks.

Common questions

Is the Islamabad Police online appointment free?

We saw no booking fee in the system on 24 October 2026. You pay the fee for the service itself, such as Rs 1,000 for a character certificate, at the counter.

Which Islamabad PKM is open 24 hours?

PKM F-6, near the Islamabad Press Club, and PKM Cascade. The system marks Cascade as only for Diplomatic Enclave residents.

How do I cancel or change my appointment?

Use the find appointment option with your APT number and CNIC issue date. You can then reschedule to another date and time at the same centre, or cancel.

Can a foreigner book an Islamabad Police appointment?

Yes. The form accepts a passport number and an international mobile number. Foreigner registration is offered at PKM F-6 and Pakistan Asaan Markaz G-9.

Can I walk in without an appointment?

The system does not say walk-ins are refused, and centres served walk-in visitors before it launched. A booked slot should cut your waiting time.

Can I book a character certificate appointment for a relative abroad?

Islamabad Police says blood relatives can apply with a proper authority letter, attested by an embassy for applicants abroad. Book with your own CNIC and bring that letter.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the Islamabad Police online appointment system, including the live service, centre, calendar and slot data it publishes, and the character certificate and copy of FIR pages on islamabadpolice.gov.pk, on 24 October 2026. Slot counts change by the hour. We did not complete a booking, so we have not seen a live confirmation slip or tested check-in at a centre.
