JazzCash Scraps Rs 100 a Month Inactivity Fee From 12 October 2026
JazzCash has cut its Rs 100 a month inactivity fee to zero from 12 October 2026, under Mobilink Bank memo Inst./45/2026. See what an unused wallet still pays.

Short answer: JazzCash no longer charges its Rs 100 a month inactivity fee. A memo from Mobilink Microfinance Bank, which runs JazzCash, sets the inactivity fee to zero from 12 October 2026. The fee had applied to wallets with no activity in the previous 12 months.
We read the memo on JazzCash's own schedule of charges page on 20 October 2026. It is reference Inst./45/2026, titled "Updation of SOBC (Branchless Banking)", and it adds one line to the October to December 2026 charges: "Inactivity Fee: 0". The file on JazzCash's server is dated 19 October 2026.
This matters most for people who opened a JazzCash wallet once, for a payment or a transfer, and then stopped using it. Under the old rule, a wallet left untouched for a year could start losing Rs 100 a month, plus tax.
JazzCash set the inactivity fee to zero from 12 October 2026
The JazzCash inactivity fee is now Rs 0. Mobilink Microfinance Bank's memo Inst./45/2026 lists "Inactivity Fee" at 0 with an effective date of 12 October 2026. It says the line becomes part of the fourth quarter 2026 schedule of charges.

The memo is short. It is addressed to all staff, copied to the President and CEO, and signed by the bank's Chief Digital Financial Services and its Chief Business Officer. It does not give a reason for the change.
The memo describes itself as information added "in continuation of" the schedule circulated for the fourth quarter. So the rest of the October to December schedule stays as published on 1 October.
The old fee was Rs 100 a month after 12 months without use
Before 12 October, JazzCash charged Rs 100 a month on a wallet with no activity in the preceding 12 months. That figure sits in both the July to September schedule and the original October to December schedule, before tax.
| Schedule | Reference | Inactivity fee |
|---|---|---|
| July to September 2026 | Inst Circular/30/2026, 30 June 2026 | Rs 100 a month |
| October to December 2026, as issued | Inst Circular/42/2026, 1 October 2026 | Rs 100 a month |
| From 12 October 2026 | Memo Inst./45/2026 | Rs 0 |
The schedule defines inactivity as "a charge applied to an account that has remained unengaged for specified period and is charged for platform related inactivity". Its fees are listed excluding tax unless a line says otherwise, so the real deduction was a little higher than Rs 100.
On our own arithmetic, Rs 100 a month comes to Rs 1,200 a year before tax. For a wallet holding a few hundred rupees, that was enough to empty it within months.
Card annual fees and small charges still apply to a quiet wallet
Dropping the inactivity fee does not make an unused JazzCash wallet free. If you hold a JazzCash debit card, its annual fee is still charged. The schedule says only permanently blocked cards are exempt from the annual card fee.

| Charge in the October to December 2026 schedule | Amount |
|---|---|
| PayPak debit card annual fee | Rs 299 |
| Mastercard physical card annual fee | Rs 99 |
| Visa card annual fee | Rs 99 |
| App or USSD platform fee | Rs 1 per transaction |
| Balance check by USSD | Rs 1 |
| Cash out at an ATM | Rs 35 including tax |
One line moved the other way for bill payers. The October to December schedule lists utility, postpaid and internet bill payments through the wallet at Rs 0, and it carries no per-bill slab for wallet users. Check your confirm screen before paying, since JazzCash says it may charge lower or up to the listed fee.
So if you have a card you no longer use, blocking it permanently is what stops the yearly charge. The card fees in full are set out in our breakdown of JazzCash debit card fees.
Easypaisa's current schedule shows no inactivity fee
We found no inactivity fee line in Easypaisa Bank's branchless banking schedule for October to December 2026. That schedule lists cash out, transfer, card and loan charges, but nothing for a wallet that sits unused.
That does not mean an unused Easypaisa wallet costs nothing. Its card fees, ATM charge of Rs 35 and USSD platform fee of Rs 1 still apply when used. The two wallets' full fee lists are compared in JazzCash and Easypaisa charges.
Check your wallet for an inactivity charge in three steps
Open your JazzCash app, look at recent transactions for an inactivity deduction, and call the helpline if one appears on or after 12 October 2026. The memo does not mention refunds for months charged before that date.
- Open the JazzCash app and go to your transaction history or mini statement. The schedule lists the mini statement as free.
- Look for a deduction named as an inactivity or dormancy charge, and note its date and amount.
- If a charge is dated 12 October 2026 or later, call JazzCash on 111-118-000 and quote memo Inst./45/2026. Ask for a complaint number.
- If you get no fix, take the complaint to the State Bank of Pakistan. Wallet complaints go to the SBP, not the Banking Mohtasib, as explained in complaining about a microfinance bank or wallet.
If you do not plan to use the wallet again, closing it is still the cleanest choice. The steps are in closing a JazzCash account. A wallet blocked for other reasons is a separate problem with its own fix.

How much was the JazzCash inactivity fee?
It was Rs 100 a month, excluding tax, on a wallet with no activity in the preceding 12 months.
Will JazzCash refund inactivity fees charged before 12 October?
The memo does not say. It only sets the fee to zero from 12 October 2026, so ask the helpline about earlier deductions.

Not if it has a debit card. Card annual fees still apply unless the card is permanently blocked.
Does Easypaisa charge for an inactive wallet?
Its October to December 2026 branchless schedule has no inactivity fee line. Other charges apply when you use the wallet.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read JazzCash's schedule of charges page on 20 October 2026 and opened the three documents it links: the July to September 2026 schedule (Inst Circular/30/2026), the October to December 2026 schedule (Inst Circular/42/2026, dated 1 October 2026) and the addendum memo Inst./45/2026, effective 12 October 2026. The last two are scanned, so we read them page by page. We also read Easypaisa Bank's October to December 2026 branchless schedule. We could not confirm why the fee was dropped, whether JazzCash will refund earlier charges, or whether app screens already reflect the change, because we did not hold an inactive wallet to test.
