How to Open a JazzCash NextGen Account for a Child Aged 12 to 17
JazzCash NextGen is a free wallet for children aged 12 to 17 with a B-Form or SNIC and a parent's verified account. See the steps, limits and safety rules here.

JazzCash NextGen is a free wallet for children aged 12 to 17. The child signs up in the JazzCash app with a NADRA B-Form or SNIC (the child's smart identity card), and a parent or guardian with a verified JazzCash account must give consent and stays linked to it. Limits are set at JazzCash's Level 1 (L-1) account level.
Pocket money, school fees paid online, a mobile load, a small online purchase: a lot of a teenager's spending in Pakistan already happens on a phone. Until now, that usually meant using a parent's wallet, with the parent's PIN.
We read JazzCash's NextGen page on 9 October 2026. Here is who can open the account, what you need, the steps, what the child can and cannot do, and what happens at 18.
Who can open a JazzCash NextGen account
Any child aged 12 to 17 with a valid B-Form or SNIC issued by NADRA can open a NextGen account. It must be linked to a parent or guardian who already has a verified JazzCash account, and the parent's consent is needed during sign-up.

| Requirement | What JazzCash says |
|---|---|
| Age | 12 to 17 years |
| Child's identity document | Valid B-Form or SNIC issued by NADRA |
| Parent or guardian | Must have a verified JazzCash account |
| Consent | Parent or guardian consent during account opening |
| Fee to open | Free |
| Where to open | JazzCash app, during sign-up |
If the parent does not have JazzCash yet, that comes first. The parent's own sign-up, with an MPIN and biometric check, is set out in creating a JazzCash account.
One point to note. The State Bank's teenager account framework, which banks and wallets follow, covers resident teenagers aged 13 to 18, as set out in opening a teenager bank account in Pakistan. JazzCash's page says 12 to 17 for NextGen. If your child is exactly 12 or 18, ask JazzCash which rule applies before you start.
How to open a NextGen account in the JazzCash app
Download the JazzCash app on the child's phone, choose sign-up, and follow the NextGen steps. The child enters their details and B-Form or SNIC, NADRA verifies them, and the parent or guardian gives consent. JazzCash lists instant activation as a benefit.
- Make sure the parent's own JazzCash account is verified and working.
- Install the official JazzCash app on the child's phone from Google Play or the App Store.
- Start sign-up and pick the NextGen option for under-18s, if your app version shows it.
- Enter the child's mobile number, the one-time code, and details from the B-Form or SNIC.
- Complete the identity check, which JazzCash runs through NADRA.
- Have the parent or guardian give consent to link the account.

JazzCash's page does not show each screen, so the exact labels may differ in your app version. Update the app first if you do not see a NextGen option. JazzCash also says new accounts cannot send money for the first 2 hours after creation, as a security step against fraud. Do not panic if the first payment fails straight away.
Create the MPIN with the child, and make sure they know it is private. A parent who keeps the child's MPIN defeats much of the point of the account.
What a NextGen account can do, and its limits
A NextGen account can send and receive money, pay bills and mobile top-ups, and make digital payments. JazzCash says its limits are controlled at the L-1 account level, to keep use safe for minors under the State Bank's rules. It does not list the rupee amounts on that page.
| Can do | Not clear from JazzCash's page |
|---|---|
| Send and receive money | Exact daily and monthly limits |
| Pay bills and mobile top-ups | Whether a debit card is offered |
| Make digital payments | Whether ReadyCash or Yeylo credit is blocked |
| Receive funds | What the parent can see or block |
The general Level 1 caps for wallets are covered in JazzCash and Easypaisa charges and limits. Ask JazzCash whether the same numbers apply to NextGen, because the page only names the level.
We would want to know about credit before handing over the app. JazzCash sells loans and buy now, pay later inside the same app. Its NextGen page does not say whether those are switched off for under-18s, so ask the helpline on 051-111-124-444.
Safety rules for a child's JazzCash wallet
Teach the child three rules: never share the MPIN or a one-time code, never send money to a stranger who promises a prize, and only use the official JazzCash app.
- No codes, ever. JazzCash, banks and government offices do not ask for an MPIN or OTP on a call.
- No prize payments. A "you have won" message that asks for a fee first is a scam.
- Official app only. Download JazzCash from the official store listing, not from a link someone sends.
- Talk first. Agree that the child tells you before sending money to anyone new.
If money leaves the child's wallet without permission, call JazzCash at once. The refund route for a wallet transfer nobody approved is set out in getting money back after an unauthorised JazzCash transfer.
What happens when the child turns 18
At 18, the NextGen account can be upgraded to a regular JazzCash account after a biometric check. That opens full wallet features and higher limits. JazzCash's page does not say whether the upgrade is automatic, so plan to do it yourself.
By then the child will usually have a CNIC. The biometric check uses NADRA's records, so a smooth upgrade depends on the child's fingerprints being registered with NADRA.
Common questions

JazzCash says NextGen is for children aged 12 to 17. At 18 the account can be upgraded to a regular JazzCash account with biometrics.
Does my child need a CNIC for JazzCash NextGen?
No. A valid B-Form or SNIC issued by NADRA is enough, according to JazzCash.
Does the parent need a JazzCash account?
Yes. The parent or guardian must have a verified JazzCash account and give consent. The child's account stays linked to it.
Is there a fee to open a NextGen account?
No. JazzCash says opening a NextGen account through the app is free.
What are the NextGen transaction limits?
JazzCash says the limits follow the L-1 account level but does not give the rupee figures on its NextGen page. Ask the helpline for the current numbers.
Why can't my child send money right after opening the account?
JazzCash says new accounts cannot make transactions for the first 2 hours after creation, as a security measure.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 9 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read JazzCash's NextGen account page for eligibility, documents, consent, services, limits level, fee and the upgrade at 18, and JazzCash's account creation section for the 2 hour rule and its helplines. We did not open a NextGen account, so screen labels are not described.
