Karachi to Hyderabad Bus Fare: Rs 496 to Rs 608, and the Official Rates for 20 Sindh Routes
Sindh's official intercity bus fares: Karachi to Hyderabad Rs 496 to Rs 608, per-kilometre rates for four vehicle types and 20 routes. Check before you pay.

The Provincial Transport Authority Sindh lists a Karachi to Hyderabad fare of Rs 496 on a non-AC van, Rs 528 on a deluxe non-AC bus, Rs 560 on an AC van and Rs 608 on an AC bus. All four come from per-kilometre rates over 160 km. The same list covers 20 routes from Karachi, from Thatta at 103 km to Sukkur at 463 km. The list is dated 4 April 2026 and marked provisional.
Anyone who has stood at a Karachi bus terminal on a holiday knows the scene. The conductor names a price, the queue is long and nobody has the printed list. The Sindh government publishes one. It sits on the Transport and Mass Transit Department's website, and most passengers never see it.
We opened the department's Fares page on 14 October 2026 and read the Inter City Fares notice. It is an image of a letter from the Secretary of the Provincial Transport Authority, Sindh. We did not ride any of these routes or compare fares at a terminal, so we cannot say what operators actually charge today.
The list prices 20 routes from Karachi by the kilometre
The notice is titled Intercity Provisional Fare Rates List. It has four columns, one for each type of vehicle, and each column has a fixed rate per kilometre per passenger. Multiply the rate by the route length and you get the fare.
| Vehicle type | Rate per km, per passenger |
|---|---|
| Deluxe non-AC bus | Rs 3.30 |
| Non-AC van | Rs 3.10 |
| AC bus | Rs 3.80 |
| AC van | Rs 3.50 |
Check the maths on Hyderabad. At 160 km, Rs 3.30 gives Rs 528 and Rs 3.10 gives Rs 496. Rs 3.80 gives Rs 608 and Rs 3.50 gives Rs 560. Those match the printed fares. On a few other routes, the printed fare differs from the sum by a rupee or more, so the printed fare is the notice's own figure.

Karachi to Hyderabad costs Rs 496 to Rs 608
The shortest listed trips are Thatta, 103 km, and Jamshoro, 153 km. The longest are Kandhkot, 590 km, and Kashmore, 584 km. Here are six common routes, with fares exactly as printed in the notice.
| Route from Karachi | Km | Deluxe non-AC | Non-AC van | AC bus | AC van |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thatta | 103 | Rs 340 | Rs 319 | Rs 391 | Rs 360 |
| Hyderabad | 160 | Rs 528 | Rs 496 | Rs 608 | Rs 560 |
| Badin | 211 | Rs 696 | Rs 654 | Rs 802 | Rs 738 |
| Mirpurkhas | 233 | Rs 769 | Rs 722 | Rs 885 | Rs 815 |
| Sehwan Sharif | 285 | Rs 940 | Rs 883 | Rs 1,083 | Rs 997 |
| Sukkur | 463 | Rs 1,528 | Rs 1,435 | Rs 1,759 | Rs 1,620 |
The rest of the 20 routes are Jamshoro, Dadu, Larkana, Khipro, Kunri, Umerkot, Mithi, Islamkot, Tando Adam, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Shikarpur, Kandhkot and Kashmore. The notice prints a fare in all four columns for every one of them.

A route that is not listed uses the same per-kilometre rate
The notice has a note for routes missing from the list. It says operators shall charge the fares at the per-kilometre rates printed in the table. So if your trip is from Karachi to a town that is not named, find the distance and multiply.
For example, a 100 km trip costs Rs 330 on a deluxe non-AC bus, Rs 310 on a non-AC van, Rs 380 on an AC bus and Rs 350 on an AC van. Use a map for the distance, and remember that the notice rates are "per passenger". Luggage and a seat for a child may be treated differently by an operator. The notice does not say.
- Find your route in the table, or work out the distance in kilometres.
- Note which vehicle type you are boarding, not the one you would like.
- Multiply the distance by the rate for that vehicle type.
- Ask the terminal staff to show the displayed fare list.
- Pay the listed fare and keep your ticket.

The notice asks terminals to display the list
The letter is copied to commissioners, district police and bus terminals. It asks the in-charge of each designated bus terminal to display the fare list at a conspicuous place for the convenience of passengers. That gives you a simple request: ask for the list.
If a terminal will not show it, you can read it online yourself on the department's Fares page, and show the same figures on your phone.
Check the date and what the list does not cover
The notice is dated 4 April 2026 and marked provisional. We did not find a newer intercity list on the department's page on 14 October 2026, but a provisional list can be replaced at any time. Fares may also move with fuel prices, so look at the page again before a long trip.
The list covers four vehicle types between Karachi and 20 places. It does not cover other starting points, train fares or private luxury coach brands. For fares inside the city, see the guide to Karachi city bus fares, which sets out the separate city list and the Peoples Bus Service.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 14 October 2026. The rates and fares come from the Intercity Provisional Fare Rates List dated 4 April 2026, an image on the Fares page of the Transport and Mass Transit Department of Sindh at transport.sindh.gov.pk. We read the image by eye and checked each fare in our table against the per-kilometre rate. We did not compare actual terminal prices or ride any route.
