Karachi University Admission List 2027 Out: 3,255 Selected for Test-Based BS, DPT and Pharm-D
KU posted its provisional list for test-based admissions 2027 on 19 October 2026. Find your form number, then see the self-finance and reserved seat form dates.

The University of Karachi published its provisional list of selected candidates for test-based BS, B.Ed (Hons), B.E., DPT and Pharm-D admissions 2027 on 19 October 2026. By our count the 27 page list carries 3,255 form numbers. The same day KU opened two more doors: self-finance and donor seat forms from 20 to 30 October, and reserved seat forms from 21 to 31 October 2026.
The list came a day earlier than the 20 October date in KU's admission schedule. It covers the morning programmes decided by the entry test held on 11 October, which we described in our note on the KU entry test of 11 October. Open merit departments, which do not use the test, get their own list on 30 October.
KU's test-based list names 3,255 selected candidates
The provisional list is dated 19 October 2026 and runs to 27 pages. Each line shows a form number, a department code, the candidate's academic percentage and a test score. We counted 3,255 entries. Names are not printed, so search by your form number.
The list is ordered by form number, not by merit. Doctor of Physical Therapy (code DPT) has the most entries at 399. Other large blocks carry the codes APH, PHE, IRL and ENV, each with 250 or more. Computer science (BSCS) shows 64 entries, software engineering (BSSE) 70 and BBA 130.
| Code on the list | Entries we counted |
|---|---|
| DPT | 399 |
| APH | 336 |
| PHE | 253 |
| IRL | 250 |
| ENV | 250 |
| BBA | 130 |
| BSSE | 70 |
| BSCS | 64 |
| BSAI | 37 |
The list itself does not spell out the department codes. Match the code against the department you chose on your form. Every page carries the same warning: the university "reserves the right to correct any inadvertent error" in the list.

Test scores on the list go below the advertised 50 per cent
KU's test-based advert set a 50 per cent pass mark in the entry test. The provisional list shows test scores from 25 to 97, and 1,235 entries carry a score under 50. KU has not published a note that explains the gap.
These entries sit in seven codes: DPT, ACH, APH, ENV, IRL, TED and EDU. Nothing on the list says whether the test score column is out of 100, or whether the pass mark was relaxed for some departments. We have not found a KU notice that answers either point.
If your score is under 50 and your form number is on the list, you are on the list. Ask the Directorate of Admissions before you pay anything, and keep a copy of the list page that shows your number.
Self-finance and donor seat forms open from 20 to 30 October
KU's notice of 19 October opens online forms for self-finance and donor seats in morning programmes from 20 to 30 October 2026. Apply at uokadmission.edu.pk, then hand in a printout with a pay order to the Directorate of Admissions.
- Read the fee voucher and prospectus details on uokadmission.edu.pk before you start.
- Fill in the self-finance or donor seat form online between 20 and 30 October.
- Get a pay order in the name of "University of Karachi". The notice says to bring the original.
- Print the submitted donor seat form.
- Take the pay order and printout to the Directorate of Admissions, Old Administration Building, top floor, Room 54.
The KU admissions schedule of 17 September lists a Rs 5,000 processing fee for self-finance and donor seats. It does not give the self-finance tuition itself, which the prospectus places in an appendix we could not read. Test-based departments are open on these seats only to students who sat the 2027 entry test.

Reserved seat forms open from 21 to 31 October
KU's second notice of 19 October opens reserved seat forms for morning admissions from 21 to 31 October 2026. The quota covers sports, KU employees, special persons, armed forces, northern areas, AJK, interior Sindh, Balochistan, minorities and advocates' children.
Each quota has its own proof and, for some, a nomination from outside the university. We set those out in how to apply for KU reserved seats. As with self-finance, a test-based department is open only to applicants who applied for and sat the test.
Fees for the test-based list are due from 9 to 19 November
KU's schedule gives 9 to 19 November 2026 as the fee collection window for test-based, Pharm-D, Visual Studies and open merit admissions. The provisional list itself does not repeat a fee date, so watch the portal for the voucher.
| Step | Date |
|---|---|
| Test-based provisional list | Published 19 October 2026 |
| Self-finance and donor forms | 20 to 30 October 2026 |
| Reserved seat forms | 21 to 31 October 2026 |
| Open merit admission list | 30 October 2026 |
| Fee collection | 9 to 19 November 2026 |
| Evening programme forms | 2 to 11 November 2026 |
Students also applying on open merit can check the KU open merit admission dates. That list decides seats in departments that admit on intermediate marks alone.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read the University of Karachi admissions page on 20 October 2026 and opened its three new files: the 27 page provisional list dated 19 October 2026, the Urdu notice on self-finance and donor seats dated 19 October, and the Urdu notice on reserved seats dated 19 October. We also read the admissions schedule dated 17 September 2026 and the KU prospectus 2027. The entry counts are our own, taken from the list's text. We could not find what each department code stands for, what scale the test score uses, or the self-finance fee, whose appendix pages are images we could not read.
