Download your KU admit card before you leave home

Log in at uokadmission.edu.pk with the account you used to apply and download the admit card. It shows your test centre and reporting time, so read both before Sunday.

  1. Open uokadmission.edu.pk and log in with your registered email and password.
  2. Open your test-based application and download the admit card.
  3. Note the centre name and the reporting time printed on it.
  4. Print the card and keep it with you on test day.
  5. If the card is missing, contact the Admission Office on (021) 9926 1300-07, extension 2479, before Sunday.

KU's notice does not list other items to bring. Follow whatever the admit card itself says, since that is the instruction for your centre.

The test has six groups based on your intermediate subjects

Your group depends on what you studied in intermediate. Every group answers 100 questions. English and General Knowledge are compulsory for all groups, and there is no negative marking.

1Pre-Engineering and Pre-MedicalEnglish, General Knowledge, Chemistry, Physics, plus Mathematics or Biology. 20 questions each.

University of Karachi entry test groups 1 to 6 by intermediate subject, each with 100 questions

Pre-Engineering students pick Mathematics as the fifth subject. Pre-Medical students pick Biology. Pick the subject you actually studied, because a wrong section costs you a fifth of the paper.

You need 50 per cent to be considered

KU grants admission in test-based programmes on your intermediate marks, but only after you pass the test with at least 50 per cent. Each department's own eligibility rules still apply.

Answer every question. With no negative marking, a blank answer can only cost you marks. KU's sample BS test paper on the portal shows the style: sentence completion, word pairs, opposites and similar words, a reading passage, then subject questions.

University of Karachi entry test pass mark of 50 out of 100 with no negative marking

Candidates still waiting for intermediate results can sit the test at their own risk. KU wants the result at least three days before the admission list, so by about 17 October. Grace or condonation marks are not counted. Students from foreign or private boards need an IBCC equivalence certificate by the same point.
