KMI-30 Index Companies and Weights in Pakistan: Fauji Fertilizer Leads at 12.25%, Full List of 30
See all 30 KMI-30 companies and their weights on 20 October 2026. Fauji Fertilizer leads at 12.25%, energy makes up 37.8% and Meezan is the only bank in it.

Short answer: The KMI-30 is the Pakistan Stock Exchange's index of the 30 most liquid Shariah-compliant shares. Five companies make up 49.59 per cent of it: Fauji Fertilizer at 12.25 per cent, Engro Holdings 10.56, Meezan Bank 10.48, OGDC 8.31 and Hub Power 7.99. These weights are from the PSX data portal at about 2 pm on 20 October 2026.
If you invest only in Shariah-compliant shares, the KMI-30 is the benchmark you will hear quoted most. We read its full constituent table on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) data portal and PSX's own description of the index, then grouped the 30 shares by business. The groups are ours. Every weight and price is PSX's.
Five companies carry 49.59 per cent of the KMI-30
The top five shares make up 49.59 per cent of the KMI-30, and the top ten make up 79.11 per cent. The other 20 shares share about 21 per cent. So a 1 per cent move in Fauji Fertilizer matters far more than a big move in a small share.

The prices are the last day's closing prices the portal shows for 19 October. The portal marks some symbols "XD", and for two of them the price shown is below the 19 October close we recorded: PPL at Rs 212.85 against Rs 218.85, and PSO at Rs 358.96 against Rs 368.96.
The other 15 shares weigh 9.63 per cent together
The bottom half of the KMI-30 adds up to just 9.63 per cent. Sazgar Engineering is the biggest of them at 1.32 per cent, and Treet is the smallest at 0.18 per cent. Both gas companies, SNGPL and SSGC, are in the index but weigh only 1.35 per cent together.
| Company (symbol) | Weight | Company (symbol) | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sazgar Engineering (SAZEW) | 1.32% | Ghandhara Industries (GHNI) | 0.64% |
| Sui Northern Gas (SNGP) | 1.01% | Air Link Communication (AIRLINK) | 0.59% |
| Pakistan Refinery (PRL) | 1.00% | Ghandhara Automobiles (GAL) | 0.46% |
| The Searle Company (SEARL) | 0.96% | Sui Southern Gas (SSGC) | 0.34% |
| Nishat Mills (NML) | 0.83% | Citi Pharma (CPHL) | 0.33% |
| Pak Elektron (PAEL) | 0.72% | Fauji Foods (FFL) | 0.30% |
| National Refinery (NRL) | 0.71% | Honda Atlas Cars (HCAR) | 0.24% |
| Treet Corporation (TREET) | 0.18% |
Some of these shares are small in the index but move a lot. On 20 October, National Refinery and Pakistan Refinery were down 6.29 and 4.88 per cent at about 2 pm, while SNGPL was up 3.93 per cent.
Energy companies make up 37.8 per cent of the index
By our grouping, energy is the largest block at 37.80 per cent: oil and gas producers 20.92, Hub Power 7.99, refineries 3.92, PSO 3.62 and the two gas companies 1.35. Fertiliser is next at 17.26 per cent and cement at 12.92.

| Business group (our grouping) | Shares | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Oil and gas producers | OGDC, MARI, PPL | 20.92% |
| Fertiliser | FFC, EFERT | 17.26% |
| Cement | LUCK, FCCL, MLCF, DGKC | 12.92% |
| Holding company | ENGROH | 10.56% |
| Bank | MEBL | 10.48% |
| Power | HUBC | 7.99% |
| Technology | SYS, AIRLINK | 4.96% |
| Refineries | ATRL, PRL, NRL | 3.92% |
| Fuel marketing | PSO | 3.62% |
| Cars and vehicles | SAZEW, GHNI, GAL, HCAR | 2.66% |
| Gas companies | SNGP, SSGC | 1.35% |
| Medicines | SEARL, CPHL | 1.29% |
| Others | NML, PAEL, FFL, TREET | 2.03% |
That makes the KMI-30 a heavy bet on energy prices and gas policy. A change in the gas price for fertiliser plants, or a move in oil prices, reaches this index faster than almost anything else.
Meezan is the only bank, which sets it apart from the KSE-100
The KMI-30 has just one bank, Meezan Bank, at 10.48 per cent. Conventional banks carry 30.84 per cent of the KSE-100 but none of the KMI-30. So the two indices can move quite differently on days when banks rise or fall.
The difference shows in the shared names too. Fauji Fertilizer weighs 12.25 per cent here against 9.09 per cent in the KSE-100, and Meezan 10.48 against 5.27. The full KSE-100 table is in the KSE-100 companies and weights.
PSX says the KMI-30 tracks "the 30 most liquid Shariah compliant companies", weighted by free float market value "with a 12% cap" on any one company. Fauji Fertilizer was at 12.25 per cent on 20 October, a little above that cap. PSX's page does not say when the cap is reapplied, but prices move between reviews.
How to check the KMI-30 list yourself
The list changes when PSX recomposes the index, and the weights change every minute the market is open. Use the PSX data portal for the live table. It takes about two minutes and needs no login.
- Open dps.psx.com.pk and choose Indices from the Market menu.
- Pick KMI30 to see all 30 shares.
- Sort the "IDX WTG (%)" column to see the heaviest shares first.
- Read "IDX POINT" to see which shares moved the index today.
- Compare "LDCP", the last day's closing price, with "CURRENT".
Which shares count as Shariah-compliant is a wider question than this index. The national count is in how many PSX shares are Shariah-compliant. To follow the index day by day, the 19 October market close lists the KMI-30 alongside the other main indices, and the way to check index movers on the PSX portal works the same for the KMI-30.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 20 October 2026. We read the KMI30 constituent table on the PSX data portal at about 2 pm PKT on 20 October 2026, and PSX's description of the index on its indices page. Weights are intraday and change with prices. The business groups, group totals and top five and top ten sums are our own arithmetic. The KSE-100 comparison figures come from the KSE-100 weights at the close of 19 October. This is a list of index weights, not advice to buy or sell any share.
