KMU OPF Seats: Overseas Pakistanis' Children Can Apply for 9 KP MBBS and BDS Places by 21 October
Children of overseas Pakistanis with a KP domicile can apply for 9 OPF MBBS and BDS seats via KMU by 21 October 2026. Eligibility, Rs 3,000 fee and documents.

Children of overseas Pakistanis with a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa domicile can apply for 9 reserved MBBS and BDS seats in KP public medical and dental colleges until 5:00 PM on Wednesday 21 October 2026. You apply online at cas.kmu.edu.pk, pick the OPF seat category, pay a Rs 3,000 processing fee at a Bank of Khyber branch, and send the full application to the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation office in Islamabad.
The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) posted Khyber Medical University's admission notice on 7 October 2026. KMU is the admitting university for every public sector medical and dental college in the province. We read the notice, KMU's admission portal and OPF's reserved seats list on 9 October 2026.
Nine seats is a small number. One family's paperwork mistake can cost a place, so the documents matter as much as the marks.
Nine OPF seats are reserved in five KP colleges
OPF lists 9 seats for children of overseas Pakistanis in KP public colleges: 5 for MBBS and 4 for BDS. Every one is marked "Only KPK Domicile", and KMU's portal shows the same five colleges under its overseas Pakistanis seat category.
| College | Programme | OPF seats |
|---|---|---|
| Khyber Medical College, Peshawar | MBBS | 3 |
| Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad | MBBS | 2 |
| Khyber College of Dentistry, Peshawar | BDS | 2 |
| Ayub Dental Section, Abbottabad | BDS | 1 |
| Bacha Khan Dental Section, Mardan | BDS | 1 |
| Total | 9 |
These seats are separate from the Foreign Self Finance seats, which charge much higher fees. OPF says its reserved seats carry the same fees and dues as local students pay. KMU considers a student only for the categories selected online, so select every category the student qualifies for, not the OPF seats alone.
Who is eligible for the OPF seats
The student needs a KP or merged district domicile, a passed MDCAT, and good FSc marks. A parent must hold a valid OPF membership card and a Foreign Exchange Remittance Card on the closing date, 21 October 2026.
- MDCAT: passed in 2024, 2025 or 2026 with at least 55% for MBBS or 50% for BDS.
- FSc Pre-Medical or equivalent: KMU's printed notice says at least 60% marks. Its admission portal says 65%. The two differ, so check the portal's eligibility line before you apply and ask the helpline if your marks fall between them.
- Domicile: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or a merged district.
- Parent's documents: a valid OPF membership card and Foreign Exchange Remittance Card. Banks issue the remittance card to people who send money home through banking channels.
An expired card is the most likely trap. If the parent's OPF card has lapsed, renew it now, because OPF takes time to process. The steps to get or renew an OPF membership card are the same for a renewal.
How to apply on the KMU portal, step by step
Apply online only. KMU does not accept forms by hand or post. Create an account on cas.kmu.edu.pk, fill in the form with the OPF category and your college choices, pay Rs 3,000 at a Bank of Khyber branch, then send the full application with documents to OPF in Islamabad.
- Open cas.kmu.edu.pk and click Apply to create an account with the student's own CNIC or B-Form number, email and mobile number.
- Complete the profile and choose the overseas Pakistanis (OPF) seat category, plus any other category the student qualifies for.
- List the colleges in your order of preference. You can only be placed in colleges and categories you select online.
- Upload scanned documents, preview the form and submit. It cannot be changed after submission.
- Download the challan and pay Rs 3,000 per programme, MBBS and BDS separately, at any Bank of Khyber branch.
- Log in again after 72 hours to check that the payment shows as verified.
- Download the submitted form and send it with all documents to the OPF office in Islamabad, as KMU's instructions require for OPF seat applicants.
The OPF head office is in the OPF Building, Shahrah-e-Jamhuriat, Sector G-5/2, Islamabad, and its UAN is 051-111-040-040. Call before you post, and ask for the exact deadline for documents to reach OPF. It may be earlier than 21 October.
Keep these documents ready before you start
Scan every document in advance. KMU asks for the student's certificates and identity papers, both parents' identity and domicile papers, and, for OPF seats, the parent's OPF and remittance cards valid on the closing date.
- Matric certificate and marks sheet, and FSc detailed marks certificate.
- An IBCC equivalence certificate if the student studied abroad, for example O and A Levels or a Gulf board.
- Domicile certificate of the student and of the father, or of the mother if the father has died, with the death certificate.
- CNIC or B-Form of the student, and the father's CNIC, both sides.
- Parent's valid OPF membership card and Foreign Exchange Remittance Card.
- A passport size photo on a white or blue background.
Families living abroad often hold a NICOP instead of a CNIC. KMU's list asks for a CNIC, so keep the parent's NICOP ready and ask the helpline whether it is accepted. You can renew a NICOP online if it has expired.
Merit is 50% MDCAT, 40% FSc and 10% Matric
KMU ranks applicants by an aggregate: 50% from the MDCAT score, 40% from FSc and 10% from Matric. Seats are offered from 16 November, and a selected student must pay the college fee within 3 working days or lose the seat.
You can work out your MDCAT aggregate before you apply to see where you stand. With only two or three seats per college, list every college you would accept.
| Step | Date |
|---|---|
| Last date to apply online | 21 October 2026, 5:00 PM |
| Provisional merit list | 30 October 2026 |
| Objections on provisional list | 1 to 3 November 2026 |
| Final merit list | 12 November 2026 |
| Placement in MBBS and BDS categories | 16 to 21 November 2026 |
| Second round on vacant seats | 1 to 4 December 2026 |
| Third round on vacant seats | 15 to 17 December 2026 |
Forged documents end the admission at any stage, KMU warns. Do not let an agent "arrange" a card or certificate.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 9 October 2026.
