KP FSL Case Status Check Online: Track a Forensic Report by FIR Number, All 7 Case Types
Track a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa forensic lab report online with the FIR, DD or letter number. All 7 case types, what the result means and who to call if it fails.

To check whether the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police forensic lab has finished its report in your case, open kpfsl.gov.pk/case-status, choose the case type, the district and the police station, and type the FIR, DD or letter number exactly as written. The tracker shows whether the lab has examined the exhibits and dispatched its report.
A forensic report can hold up a criminal case for months. Bail hearings, charge sheets and trials often wait on the lab's finding on a weapon, a drug sample, a blood stain or a signature. We went through the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) tracker on 31 October 2026. Here are the seven case types it accepts, what each field means, and who to call when the search finds nothing.
KP FSL case status needs four fields
The "Track a case" page says "All four fields are required." You choose the case category, the district and the police station, then type the FIR, DD or letter number. The police station list stays locked until you pick a district.
- Open kpfsl.gov.pk and click "Track a case", or go straight to kpfsl.gov.pk/case-status.
- Choose the case category, such as Fire Arms or Narcotics. Pick the one that matches the exhibit sent, not the offence.
- Select the district where the case is registered.
- Select the police station. The list fills in only after the district is chosen.
- Type the FIR, DD or forwarding letter number exactly as written, then press Search.

FIR means the First Information Report that opens a criminal case. DD means a Daily Diary entry, the police station's log, which is used when no FIR has been registered. The letter number is the reference on the police letter that sent the exhibits to the lab. If you are a party to the case, you are entitled to an FIR copy, as set out in free copies of the FIR before trial.
The tracker covers 7 case types
The case category list has seven options: Blood, Semen, Vehicles, Narcotics, Fire Arms, Questioned Documents and Finger Print. A wrong category returns nothing even with the right FIR number, so match it to what was sent to the lab.
| Category on the tracker | Typical exhibit | Lab section |
|---|---|---|
| Blood | Blood-stained clothes, swabs | Chemical Section (serology) |
| Semen | Swabs and clothing in sexual offence cases | Chemical Section (serology) |
| Vehicles | Chassis and engine numbers suspected of tampering | Not named on the site |
| Narcotics | Seized drug samples | Chemical Section |
| Fire Arms | Weapons, bullets and empty cases | Fire Arms Section |
| Questioned Documents | Disputed signatures, stamps, deeds | Question Document Section |
| Finger Print | Lifted prints, fingerprint records | Fingerprint Bureau |
The typical exhibits in the second column are our examples. The lab's own pages say the Chemical Section includes serology, the screening of body fluids, and DNA work. If an exhibit went to two sections, such as a pistol checked for both firearms marks and fingerprints, search under each category.

The result tells you if the report has been sent
The tracker shows "whether the laboratory has examined your exhibits and dispatched its report", in the lab's own words. It does not show the finding itself. The report goes to the investigating officer and then to the court, not to the public.
So a "dispatched" result is your cue to act. Ask the investigating officer, or your lawyer, whether the report has reached the police station and been placed on the court file. A report sitting at the police station does not help your case.
The lab's home page says 236,667 cases have been registered and 218,609 reports dispatched in total. The gap is 18,058 cases, by our arithmetic, though that figure includes work still in progress and does not tell you the wait for any one case.

When the search finds nothing
An empty result usually means one of four things: the exhibits have not reached the lab, the number is typed differently, the category is wrong, or the police station is wrong. Check each before you assume the case is lost.
- Type the number exactly as on the FIR or letter, including any slash and year.
- Try the other likely category, for example Fire Arms and Finger Print for a weapon.
- Check the police station. Choose the station named on the FIR itself.
- Ask the investigating officer for the date and number of the letter that sent the exhibits.
If the exhibits were never sent, that is a matter for the police, not the lab. You can raise it with the KP police complaint system, set out in complaining against KP police. For the court side of the case, the Peshawar High Court case status check covers appeals and bail matters before the High Court.
Contact the KP Forensic Science Laboratory
The laboratory is part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and is based in Peshawar, with a regional lab at Swat in Malakand. Call 091-9217394, fax 091-9217251, or email fslpeshawar@kppolice.gov.pk. Keep the FIR number, district and police station ready when you call.
The lab serves KP Police, NAB, the Anti-Narcotics Force, Excise, Customs and the courts. Its home page says each section examines evidence submitted by investigating officers, so a private person cannot hand in an exhibit at the counter. Ask the police or the court to send it.
Common questions
How do I check my FSL report status in KP?
Open kpfsl.gov.pk/case-status, choose the case category, district and police station, and enter the FIR, DD or letter number.
Can I see the forensic report online?
No. The tracker shows only whether the report has been dispatched. The report itself goes to the investigating officer and the court.
What is the KP FSL phone number?
091-9217394. The fax is 091-9217251 and the email is fslpeshawar@kppolice.gov.pk.
Can I search without an FIR?
Yes, if the exhibits were sent under a Daily Diary (DD) entry or a police letter. Type that number instead.
Does the KP lab have a branch outside Peshawar?
Its home page lists a regional lab at Swat in Malakand.
Is there a fee to check?
No. The case tracker is free on the lab's website.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 31 October 2026. We read the KP Forensic Science Laboratory case tracker, the lab's home page and the KP Police site that links to it. We did not run a search with a real FIR number, so we cannot say what a result screen looks like or how quickly new cases appear. The lab does not publish turnaround times, and we could not find which section handles vehicle cases.
