KPK Driving Licence Verification by CNIC: Online Check and E-Licence Copy

To verify a KPK driving licence online, open the Driving License Verification page on ptpkp.gov.pk, enter the holder's 13-digit CNIC without dashes, and press Verify License. The same site also gives you a printable e-licence copy if you enter your CNIC, licence number and date of birth.

We tested both forms on 24 October 2026. Below are the steps, what each result means, the renewal fees if your licence has expired, and where to check a licence issued in Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad or elsewhere.

KPK licence verification needs only the CNIC number

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa traffic police verification form has a single field: the CNIC. You do not need the licence number or the card itself. That makes it the quickest way for an employer, a car owner or the holder to confirm a licence exists.

The form sits on the website of the Peshawar Traffic Police, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police homepage links its Driving License Verification button there too. The page tells you to type the CNIC "without dashes", with the example 1730125212537.

The page says a match shows the licence status, the issue date and the expiry date. When we entered a dummy CNIC of thirteen 1s, the reply was "No record found." We did not enter a real person's CNIC, so we have not seen a full result screen ourselves.

How to verify a KPK driving licence in five steps

Open the site in a normal browser, let the security check finish, open License Verification, enter the CNIC without dashes and press Verify License. It takes about a minute, most of it waiting for the page to open.

1. Open ptpkp.gov.pk in Chrome or another normal browser.
2. Wait while the Cloudflare screen says "Performing security verification". Do not keep refreshing.
3. Choose License Verification from the menu.
4. Type the 13-digit CNIC with no dashes or spaces.
5. Press Verify License and read the status and expiry date.

If you are checking a driver before hiring, ask for the CNIC with his consent and run the check in front of him. A licence card that does not match the record is the thing you want to find before handing over the keys.

Download the KP e-licence with CNIC, licence number and date of birth

The E-License page gives you an electronic copy of your own licence. It asks for three things: your CNIC, your licence number and your date of birth. Press Download eLicense to get the copy.

The page describes it as an eCopy of your driving licence. It does not say whether traffic officers accept it in place of the card at a checkpoint, so keep carrying the physical card. The e-copy is most useful when the card is lost and you need the number for a duplicate.

Your licence number is printed on the card. If the card is gone and you never noted the number, the verification page by CNIC is the place to start, then call the licence branch.

What to do when the result is blank or expired

"No record found" usually means a typing mistake or a licence issued outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. An expired licence needs renewal at the licence branch, and the fee doubles once the licence has been expired for more than three years.

The fee table on the same site, read on 24 October 2026, lists these charges:

• Renewal within one month of expiry: Rs 2,500.
• Renewal after three years of expiry: Rs 5,000.
• Duplicate licence: Rs 2,000, with a police Roznamcha report.
• New licence card: Rs 2,000, after a Rs 500 driving test and e-test.
• Learner permit: Rs 1,000, plus Rs 150 for the medical.

If you live outside Pakistan and your licence is from another province, renewing an expired licence from abroad sets out the other routes.

A licence from another province needs that province's portal

Licence records are kept by each province and territory, and they do not share one public search. A Punjab or Islamabad licence will not show on the KP form, so use the portal of the authority that issued the card.

Punjab uses DLIMS, Islamabad has its own DLIMS run by the traffic police, and Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan each have a verification page. The links, and what each one asks for, are in driving licence verification in every province.

Can I check a KPK driving licence without the licence number?

The page does not say. It calls the download an eCopy. Carry your physical card to be safe.

Check the digits first. If the licence was issued in another province, it will not appear on the KP form.

We read the Driving License Verification page, the E-License page, the fee structure page and the contact page on ptpkp.gov.pk on 24 October 2026, in Chrome after the site's security check, and submitted one dummy CNIC to see the reply. The KP Police homepage links to the same verification service. We have not seen a real result screen, and we could not confirm whether the e-licence is accepted at checkpoints. One conflict to note: the fee table lists an international driving permit at Rs 10,000, while the licence procedure page on the same site lists Rs 1,000 for it.
