Only 3 of the 1,024 candidates who sat the KPPSC written exam for 105 Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate and Alaqa Qazi posts passed it. If you failed, you can apply for re-totalling of any paper for Rs 500 a paper, paid by challan at the National Bank of Pakistan, within 15 days of the 30 September result. That window closes around 15 October 2026.

We read the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission's result announcement for Advertisement 03/2026, dated 30 September 2026, and its psychological assessment notice posted on 6 October. The figures below are the Commission's own.

The numbers are stark. The Peshawar High Court wanted 105 new civil judges in BPS-18. The Commission received 3,097 applications, 1,024 people sat the papers from 21 to 29 April 2026, and three qualified. That leaves 102 posts unfilled from this round.

English was the paper that failed most candidates

English General and English Essay stopped the most candidates. Only 149 of 1,024 passed it, or 15%. General Knowledge was next, with 318 of 1,005 passing, or 32%. The law papers went far better.

Read that table as a warning for the next attempt. Most candidates knew enough criminal law and evidence to pass. The language and general papers are where the attempt was lost, and a candidate has to clear every paper to qualify.

Re-totalling costs Rs 500 a paper and has a 15 day limit

The result notice lets any candidate apply for re-totalling of marks. You send an application to the Commission with a Rs 500 challan for each paper, deposited at the National Bank of Pakistan, within 15 days of the result. No request is entertained after that.

Re-totalling means the Commission checks that your marks were added up and recorded correctly. The notice does not offer a fresh marking of your answers. It is worth doing where your Detailed Marks Certificate shows a paper just under the pass line, or a total that does not match the paper marks.

  1. Download your Detailed Marks Certificate from the DMC page at kppsc.gov.pk/dmcs, under the Civil Judges-cum-Judicial Magistrates and Alaqa Qazi block.
  2. Pick the papers to challenge. Each one costs Rs 500.
  3. Download the challan form from the KPPSC website.
  4. Deposit the fee at any National Bank of Pakistan branch, in the head of account printed on the challan.
  5. Write a short application naming the post, Advertisement 03/2026, your roll number, CNIC and the papers, and send it to the Commission with the paid challan before the 15 days run out.

The notice counts 15 days from the result announcement, and the same notice gives 15 October 2026 as the 15 day date for the qualified candidates' documents. Treat 15 October as your last day too. Hand delivery at 2 Fort Road, Peshawar Cantt is safer than post this close to the deadline.

Five steps to apply for re-totalling of the KPPSC Civil Judge written exam

The three who passed have psychological tests on 12 October

The Commission's Psychology Wing will hold written psychological tests on Monday 12 October 2026, reporting at 10:00 am and starting at 10:30 am. Individual psychological interviews follow on Monday 2 November 2026 from 11:00 am.

The notice tells candidates to bring their original CNIC and roll number slip, and says they are called provisionally, subject to eligibility in all respects. The qualified candidates must also send their documents, with the signed Documents Submission Proforma from the KPPSC website, so that they reach the Commission by 15 October 2026. The result notice cites Regulation 12(c) of the KP PSC Regulations 2017 for that limit.

Most of the 105 posts will need another round

Three passes cannot fill 105 posts, so the remaining seats can only be filled through a fresh advertisement. Neither KPPSC nor the Peshawar High Court has announced one yet, and we will not guess at a date.

If you plan to sit again, set up your profile now. The Commission's application system, fee channels and document rules are set out in applying for KPPSC jobs online. Use the time to work on English and general knowledge, because those two papers did the damage this year.

Check your attempt count as well. KPPSC rules allow a limited number of chances in combination across competitive exams such as PMS and Civil Judge, and the Commission treats an attempt as used once you sit any paper. Your DMC, result letter and interview calls all appear on the same site, and checking a KPPSC result or DMC by CNIC shows where each one sits.

A failed re-totalling request is not the end of the road either, but the rules are different for each commission. For federal posts, the route to challenge an FPSC rejection works on its own 30 day clock, which does not apply to KPPSC.
