The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) has finished recruitment for 105 posts of Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate / Illaqa Qazi (BPS-18), and only 2 candidates are on the final list. KPPSC put the interview result on its website at 4:00 pm on 4 November 2026. The other 103 posts are unfilled.

The posts are in the Peshawar High Court, advertised under Advertisement No. 03/2026. We read the interview result page and the written result of 30 September 2026 on kppsc.gov.pk on 4 November. Here is what they say, what the numbers mean, and what a candidate can do next.

KPPSC says it has "finalized recruitment process" against the 105 posts. Two candidates have "tentatively been considered to be recommended to the Government for appointment". One is from Mardan, zone 2. The other is from South Waziristan.

The word "tentatively" matters. The notice says the recommendation does not give any right to appointment. If KPPSC later finds a problem in a candidate's papers, it can cancel the recommendation at any stage.

We have not printed the names. Both are on the KPPSC page for anyone who needs to check.

103 posts stay empty across four quotas

The interview notice lists the unfilled posts by quota. General quota has the most empty seats. Every one of the 17 minority posts and all 5 disabled posts are unfilled.

QuotaPosts left unfilled
General quota70
Minority quota17
Female quota11
Disabled quota5
Total unfilled103 of 105

The four quota figures add up to 103. With the 2 recommended candidates, that is the full 105 posts in the advertisement.

Only 3 of 1,024 candidates passed the written exam

The small final list comes from the written stage. KPPSC held the written exam from 21 to 29 April 2026. It received 3,097 applications. 1,024 candidates sat the exam, and only 3 qualified.

English was the hardest paper by far. Only 149 of 1,024 candidates passed English General and English Essay, which is 15 per cent. General Knowledge was next, with 318 of 1,005 passing, or 32 per cent.

One of the three written qualifiers, from Bajaur, is not on the final list. The interview notice does not say why. It could be the interview, the psychological assessment or the document check, but KPPSC has not said, so we do not guess.

Our earlier pages cover the written result and the re-totalling route and the psychological assessment of 12 October.

What the result means if you applied

If you did not pass the written exam, this result does not change your position. The re-totalling window for the written result was 15 days from 30 September, at Rs 500 a paper, so it closed in mid October.

If you did pass and you are not on the list, you can ask KPPSC for the reason. Our guide to challenging a KPPSC decision explains the representation route and its deadline.

For everyone else, the practical question is when 103 posts come back. KPPSC has not announced a new advertisement, and the notice does not say what happens to the empty posts. Until KPPSC or the Peshawar High Court says more, the safe plan is to prepare as if the posts will be advertised again.

  1. Open kppsc.gov.pk and find "Interview Results" for Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate / Illaqa Qazi, Advertisement No. 03/2026.
  2. Check the recommended list and the quota line under it.
  3. Download your Detailed Marks Certificate from the KPPSC website if you sat the written exam.
  4. Look at your weakest paper. For most candidates it was English.
  5. Watch the KPPSC Jobs page for any new Civil Judge advertisement.

How KPPSC marks interviews and merit

KPPSC merit for most posts mixes interview, academic and experience marks. Our guide to the KPPSC merit formula sets out how the 100 marks split. Zone matters too, because posts are allocated across six zones. See how the KPPSC zonal quota works.

For a judicial post, though, the written exam is the real barrier. It is syllabus based, with nine papers, and a candidate must pass each one. That is why 1,021 of 1,024 candidates were out before the interview stage.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 4 November 2026. We read the interview result for Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate / Illaqa Qazi (BPS-18), Advertisement No. 03/2026, on the KPPSC website, displayed at 4:00 pm on 4 November 2026 and signed by the Director Examinations. The total of 103 unfilled posts is the sum of the four quota figures in the notice.
