Challenge a KPPSC Rejection in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Representation in 15 Days, Then Appeal to the Chairman

KPPSC must give rejection reasons in 7 days. You then get 15 days to file a representation and 15 more to appeal to the Chairman. See each step and deadline.

Short answer: If KPPSC rejects your application after you pass the test, you have 15 days from the rejection notice to file a representation before the Member In-charge. If that fails, you have another 15 days to appeal to the KPPSC Chairman. Your documents themselves must reach KPPSC within 15 days of the shortlisting notice, or the application is rejected with no further check.

Passing a KPPSC ability test or exam feels like the hard part. It is not the last part. KPPSC changed its regulations on 2 January 2026 and set firm clocks for documents, rejections and appeals. We read the notification on the KPPSC downloads page on 20 October 2026. Here is how to challenge a KPPSC rejection, step by step, and how to avoid one.

KPPSC gives you 15 days to send documents after shortlisting

Once you are shortlisted for interview, KPPSC tells you by SMS, email, its website or post. Your documents and a signed Documents Submission Proforma must reach the Commission's office within 15 days of that intimation. If the last day is a public holiday, the next working day counts.

Note the word "reach". Posting on day 14 from Dera Ismail Khan does not help if the envelope lands in Peshawar on day 16. Regulation 12(d) is blunt: documents received after the deadline mean your application and candidacy "shall stand rejected".

KPPSC rejection and appeal clock: 15 days for documents, 7 days for reasons, 15 days for representation and 15 days for appeal

The same notice can come by any of four routes. Keep the mobile number and email on your KPPSC profile working, and check the KPPSC website after every result. The usual list of what to send is in the steps to apply for KPPSC jobs online.

A rejection must come with reasons within 7 days

After scrutiny, the Director concerned rejects applications that came late, came incomplete or do not meet the eligibility criteria. KPPSC must tell you the reasons within 7 days of that decision, and the notice must say you may file a representation within 15 days.

This is the "initial rejection". It is made by a Director, not by the Commission's members. So it is the stage where a missing page or a misread certificate can still be put right.

Read the stated reason carefully. "Experience not as per advertisement", "degree not relevant" and "documents incomplete" need very different answers.

File a representation before the Member In-charge within 15 days

Your first remedy is a written representation to the Member In-charge, filed within 15 days of the rejection notice. The Director puts it up for a decision. The Member In-charge either approves your eligibility or confirms the rejection.

  1. Note the date on the rejection notice and count 15 days from it.
  2. Write a short representation addressed to the Member In-charge, KPPSC, quoting the advertisement number, post, roll number and CNIC.
  3. Answer the stated reason directly, one line per point.
  4. Attach attested copies of the documents that prove your case, such as the certificate KPPSC says is missing.
  5. Send it so it reaches KPPSC before day 15, by hand or by a courier with tracking, and keep a receipt.
Five steps to file a KPPSC representation against rejection before the Member In-charge

The regulation does not set a format, a fee or a time limit for the Member In-charge to decide. We could not find a representation form on the KPPSC downloads page. A plain signed letter with your evidence is what we would send.

Appeal to the KPPSC Chairman as the last step

If the Member In-charge rejects you, the Director must tell you the reasons within 7 days. You may then appeal to the Chairman within 15 days of that notice. Regulation 13(c) says the Chairman "shall decide the appeal on merit". There is no further appeal inside KPPSC.

Add those limits and the KPPSC side alone can take 14 days of notice time, while you have 15 for documents and 30 for the two challenges. Decision times are not fixed, so the whole process can run for well over two months. Do not wait for the last day at either stage.

Days allowed at each KPPSC rejection stage under the January 2026 regulations

Most rejections are avoidable before you post the envelope

The cheapest appeal is the one you never need. The regulation names three causes of rejection: late documents, incomplete documents and not meeting the eligibility criteria. The first two are fully in your hands. Check these before sending:

  • Every document the advertisement lists, attested, in the order the proforma asks.
  • Experience certificates with exact dates, signed by the competent officer.
  • A Departmental Permission Certificate if you are a government employee. KPPSC publishes its revised format on the downloads page.
  • A domicile matching your zone, since the KPPSC zonal quota reserves most seats by district.
  • The signed Documents Submission Proforma itself, which the regulation names separately.

If you passed the test but think your marks were added wrong, that is a different route. The Civil Judge round showed how KPPSC re-totalling works, with its own 15 day window. For federal jobs, the rules to challenge an FPSC rejection are separate and do not apply to KPPSC.

Common questions

How many days do I have to send documents to KPPSC?

Fifteen days from the shortlisting notice. The documents must reach KPPSC's office in that time. If the last day is a public holiday, the next working day counts.

What happens if my KPPSC documents arrive late?

Your application and candidacy are rejected under Regulation 12(d). KPPSC does not scrutinise late documents.

Who hears a representation against a KPPSC rejection?

The Member In-charge. The Director concerned puts your representation up, and the Member In-charge approves your eligibility or confirms the rejection.

Can I appeal to the KPPSC Chairman?

Yes, after the Member In-charge rejects your representation. You must appeal within 15 days of being told, and the Chairman decides on merit.

Is there a fee for a KPPSC representation or appeal?

The January 2026 notification mentions no fee. We could not find one on the KPPSC website, so confirm with KPPSC if a challan is asked for.

When did these KPPSC rules start?

The notification is dated 2 January 2026. It substituted Regulations 12(c), 12(d), 13(a), 13(b) and 13(c) of the KPPSC Regulations 2017.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read KPPSC Notification No. KPPSC/DDA-1/Vol-II/15759 of 2 January 2026, issued under Section 10(A) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission Ordinance 1978, and the list of forms on the KPPSC downloads page, on 20 October 2026. The day counts in the table are our reading of the regulation. We did not open the full consolidated Regulations 2017, and we could not find a set format, a fee or a decision deadline for representations and appeals.
