LUMS NOP Scholarship in Pakistan: Applications Open 1 November 2026, 80% in Matric Needed
LUMS NOP applications open 1 November 2026 and close 23 February 2027. You need 80% in matric and financial need. See the full timeline and how to apply.

The LUMS National Outreach Programme (NOP) can take a student from a low-income family through a LUMS undergraduate degree on full scholarship, and the next round opens on 1 November 2026. You need at least 80 per cent marks in matric (or the O Level equivalent) and real financial need. The application deadline is 23 February 2027.
We read the NOP website of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on 9 October 2026. The programme is aimed at students in the first year of Intermediate or A Levels right now. So if your child passed matric in 2026 with 80 per cent or more, this is their window. Here is the full timeline, which runs to September 2028, and what to prepare.
NOP applications run from 1 November 2026 to 23 February 2027
The NOP homepage says the Summer Coaching Session application for 2026-27 is expected to follow the usual timeline: open on 1 November 2026 and close on 23 February 2027. Supporting documents are due by 25 February 2027. A banner on the site also announces "LUMS Applications Launch November 2026".
The NOP is not a direct scholarship form. It is a pipeline. A student applies in Class 11, spends two weeks at LUMS the next summer, then applies to LUMS like everyone else, with LUMS paying the application and test fees.

Who can apply: 80% in matric and financial need
LUMS lists only two eligibility conditions: at least 80 per cent marks in Matric or equivalent in O Levels, and financial need. A student from anywhere in Pakistan can apply.
There is no quota by region, ethnicity or extra-curricular activity. Every NOP student is judged on the same admission criteria as students who apply directly. The difference is money: once admitted, a review committee assesses financial need, and qualifying students get a fully funded scholarship. LUMS says this need review happens every year of the degree, so the family's situation is checked again each year.
- Right time: the first year of Intermediate or A Levels.
- Marks: 80 per cent or more in matric, or the equivalent in O Levels.
- Need: a family that could not pay LUMS fees without help.
A Level students should know how the two school systems are compared. The routes into Pakistani universities for A Level students explain why equivalence and timing differ from FSc.
How to apply for the NOP Summer Coaching Session
The NOP application is online at nopscs.lums.edu.pk. The NOP team also visits schools and colleges in more than 160 cities and towns to explain the programme, but you do not need to wait for a visit.
- Check the 80 per cent mark on your matric or O Level result.
- Gather proof of family income and expenses before 1 November, so the need assessment is not delayed.
- Open the NOP Summer Coaching Session application on nopscs.lums.edu.pk once it opens on 1 November 2026.
- Fill in the form and submit it before 23 February 2027.
- Upload or send the supporting documents by 25 February 2027.
- Wait for the shortlist in May or June 2027, then attend the two-week session at LUMS.

LUMS covers all costs of the coaching session except travel. Families from far districts should plan the bus or train fare to Lahore early, because it is the one cost that falls on them.
What the coaching session does, and does not, guarantee
The two-week Summer Coaching Session is a trial run of university life. Students take exercises and tests and prepare for the LUMS admission test. Their performance decides whether they are put forward to apply to LUMS.
Attending does not guarantee admission or a scholarship. LUMS says this plainly. A student still has to pass the admission test and meet the merit like any other applicant. What changes is the cost of trying: LUMS pays the one-time application processing and test registration fees for successful coaching participants.
That makes the NOP a sensible bet for a strong student with little money. It is not a backup plan, so keep other options open. The HEC need-based scholarship works at many public universities, and Punjab students can also look at PEEF scholarships for 2026-27.
