MoneyGram Receive Money in Pakistan: 8-Digit Reference Number, CNIC and Every Partner (2026 List)
Collect MoneyGram money in Pakistan with the 8-digit reference number and your CNIC. See all 24 pickup partners, the 8 deposit banks and how to track it.

To receive MoneyGram money in Pakistan, take the 8-digit reference number from your sender and a valid photo ID, such as your CNIC, to one of the 24 cash pickup partners MoneyGram lists for Pakistan, including MCB, Bank Alfalah, Faysal Bank and 15 exchange companies. The money can also go straight into an account at one of 8 banks, or into a mobile wallet if the sender picks that option. Here is every partner by payout type, the steps at the counter, and what to do when the transfer is not ready.
We read MoneyGram's Pakistan page and its general receiving money page on 25 October 2026. The partner names below are copied from the Pakistan page as it stood that day.
MoneyGram lists 24 cash pickup partners in Pakistan
MoneyGram names 24 places to collect cash in Pakistan: 9 banks and 15 exchange companies. The banks are MCB, Bank Alfalah, Faysal Bank, HabibMetro, Soneri Bank, Sindh Bank, BankIslami, Al Baraka and Bank Al Habib.
Unlike Western Union, MoneyGram's list includes an HBL company, HBL Currency Exchange. It does not include Meezan Bank, Allied Bank or National Bank. So check the list before you go, rather than walking into the nearest bank.
| Payout type | Partners MoneyGram lists for Pakistan |
|---|---|
| Cash pickup at banks | Bank Alfalah, Soneri Bank, Sindh Bank, HabibMetro, MCB, Faysal Bank, BankIslami, Al Baraka Bank, Bank Al Habib |
| Cash pickup at exchange companies | DD Exchange, AA Exchange, Dollar East Exchange, Zeeque, UBL Exchange, Sky Exchange, Sadiq Exchange, Royal International, Ravi Exchange, Paragon Exchange, Pakistan Currency Exchange, Link International Exchange, HBL Currency Exchange, Habib Qatar Exchange, Fairdeal Exchange |
| Deposit to a bank account | Bank Alfalah, Faysal Bank, BankIslami, Al Baraka Bank, Bank Al Habib, MCB, Soneri Bank, Sindh Bank |
| Mobile wallet | Offered, but the page does not name the wallets |
We sorted the 24 names into banks and exchange companies ourselves. MoneyGram shows them as one list, and UBL Exchange and HBL Currency Exchange carry bank names but are listed as exchange companies, not bank branches.

You need the 8-digit reference number and a valid photo ID
MoneyGram asks for two things at the counter: a valid photo ID and the 8-digit reference number your sender received. In Pakistan, your original CNIC is the obvious ID. A passport also works as photo ID.
Ask the sender to read the reference number to you from the receipt, digit by digit. A single wrong digit means the counter cannot find the transfer. It also helps to know the sender's full name and the amount, in case the counter asks.
- Get the 8-digit reference number from the sender.
- Pick a cash pickup partner from the table and call the branch to confirm it pays MoneyGram.
- Check the transfer is ready on MoneyGram's Track a transfer tool.
- Go with your original CNIC or passport and the reference number.
- Collect the cash and keep the receipt.

The money can land in a bank account or a mobile wallet instead
MoneyGram lets the sender choose cash pickup, a bank account or a mobile wallet. In Pakistan, 8 banks accept direct deposits. A mobile wallet option is shown, but MoneyGram's Pakistan page does not name which wallets it pays into.
For a bank deposit, the money arrives in your account with no trip to a counter. The sender sets this up and enters your account details, so make sure they have your full name exactly as the bank holds it. If you bank somewhere not on the list of 8, choose cash pickup instead.
HBL customers have one more route. HBL's own page lists MoneyGram as its partner in the USA for the Konnect Home Remittance Account, which pays into a mobile account linked to your phone number. The setup is covered in receiving remittance at HBL.
| Option | Where it goes | What the sender needs from you |
|---|---|---|
| Cash pickup | Any listed bank or exchange company | Your name as on your CNIC |
| Bank account | 8 listed banks | Name and account details |
| Mobile wallet | Wallets not named on the page | Your wallet number |
Track the transfer with the reference number before you go
MoneyGram's tracking tool shows the transfer's status, from sent to ready for pickup, using the reference number. The sender can also edit or cancel the transfer before it is picked up, so a stuck transfer is something only the sender can fix.
The Pakistan page has a Find a Transfer box that asks for details exactly as they appear on the receipt. If it says the money is not ready, wait and check again before travelling. If the sender says it was paid into your bank account but nothing shows, follow the steps for a remittance that has not arrived.

Keep the reference number private and never pay to receive
The reference number works like a key to the cash. Share it only at the counter. Never pay a fee to release a transfer, and never send money to someone who says a prize or parcel is waiting for you through MoneyGram.
MoneyGram has a Report fraud link on its website. In Pakistan, cheating by phone or online can also be reported to the cybercrime authorities. If someone already has your reference number, ask the sender to contact MoneyGram at once, since the sender can cancel before pickup.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 25 October 2026. The partner lists come from MoneyGram's Pakistan page, and the 8-digit reference number, photo ID rule, tracking and edit or cancel rules come from MoneyGram's receiving money page, both read on 25 October 2026. The HBL partnership comes from HBL's Konnect Home Remittance page, read the same day. We did not collect a transfer. We could not see which mobile wallets MoneyGram pays into in Pakistan, because the page shows that tab without names.
