The only NED University admission open now is the one-year Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) for Spring-I 2027. Admission opened on 1 October 2026, registration closes on 15 December 2026, and classes start on 9 January 2027. NED's undergraduate, master's and PhD intakes for 2026 have closed.

We checked every admissions page on neduet.edu.pk and the NED Academy site on 1 October 2026. Some posts online say NED admissions close on 15 October 2026. We could not find that date anywhere on NED's own pages, for any programme. So do not plan around it. The dates on this page come from NED's own calendar, notices and fee tables.

If you were hoping for a BE seat this year, that door has shut. Next year's undergraduate cycle has not been announced. The 2026 cycle opened its first call list in mid July, so watch the site from about June. It's a rough guide, not a promise.

NED PGD Spring-I 2027 dates and programmes

NED Academy's yearly calendar gives the Spring-I 2027 dates: admission from 1 October 2026, last date of registration 15 December 2026, classes from 9 January 2027, and final exams on 9, 10 and 11 April 2027. Each PGD runs for one year.

The advertisement says these are hybrid or distance learning programmes, HEC endorsed. It lists more than 50 diplomas in three groups:

  • Computer science and IT: Cyber Security, Data Science with AI, Generative AI, Cloud Computing, DevOps, Software Engineering with AI Integration, Blockchain Technology and others.
  • Engineering and sciences: Industrial Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Renewable Energy, Electrical Power Systems, Mechatronics, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Textile Merchandising and more.
  • Management and social sciences: Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Finance, Islamic Banking and Finance, Advanced English Language Teaching and more.

A PGD is not a master's degree. It is a one-year postgraduate qualification. It suits a working graduate who wants a skill on the CV without a two-year degree. If you need a degree for promotion or a scale, check with your employer that a PGD counts.

Who can apply for a NED postgraduate diploma

NED's advertisement says any graduate with at least a second division and at least 14 years of education can apply. Some programmes add their own requirements. There is no entry test listed for the PGD. The admission steps include an interview instead.

Fourteen years of education means a two-year bachelor's degree after intermediate, or more. A four-year BS also qualifies. If your degree is from abroad, keep its equivalence ready. Getting your papers in order early helps, and HEC degree attestation can take weeks.

NED PGD fee for the Fall 2026 batch onwards

The PGD fee table on NED Academy's site lists a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 5,000 and Rs 29,000 per course. A full PGD of seven courses, or five courses plus a project, costs Rs 203,000. NED offers a 15% discount for paying in one go.

The table says this rate applies "w.e.f. Fall, 2026 Batch", so it should cover Spring-I 2027 too. NED shows each Rs 29,000 course as Rs 14,500 a month. Other charges on the same table:

  • I-grade exam: Rs 10,000.
  • Issue of the PGD and transcript: Rs 4,000, plus courier.
  • Re-counting of final exam marks: Rs 3,000 per course.
  • Bonafide letter: Rs 2,000.

Our sum: Rs 203,000 less 15% is about Rs 172,550 if you pay in full upfront. NED has not printed that figure, so confirm it on your voucher.

How to apply for a NED PGD, step by step

NED Academy lists four admission steps on every PGD page: fill in the registration form, pay the registration fee, attend an interview, then pay the course fee. Registered students make their fee vouchers on NED's online postgraduate admission system.

  1. Pick your diploma on academy.neduet.edu.pk under Postgraduate Diplomas. Read its course outline.
  2. Fill in the registration form linked from the programme page.
  3. Pay the Rs 5,000 registration fee. It is non-refundable, so be sure first.
  4. Upload your documents through NED Academy's document form.
  5. Attend the interview when NED Academy calls you.
  6. Pay the course fee by voucher before classes start on 9 January 2027.

NED Academy is on the 2nd floor of the Admin Building at NED University, University Road, Karachi. Its listed phone numbers are 021-99261287 to 90, and its email is nedacademy@neduet.edu.pk. Office hours shown on the site are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4:30 pm.

Steps to apply for a NED University postgraduate diploma for Spring-I 2027

NED master's and undergraduate admissions next time

NED's master's notice for Fall 2026 asked for forms by 17 July 2026, with a Rs 8,000 processing fee and admission tests from 24 to 26 July. Undergraduate merit was 40% HSC Part I marks and 60% NED entry test. Expect a similar pattern next year, but wait for NED's notice.

The Fall 2026 master's intake covered evening Master of Engineering, Master of Engineering Management, MS, M.Arch and MURP programmes. NED also posted an extension notice for those forms. We could not read it, because the PDF is a scanned image that would not open as text. Either way, that window is long gone.

For the undergraduate batch, NED's revised schedule of 5 July 2026 set the merit formula above and asked candidates for HSC Part I marks on the admission portal. Students coming from A levels follow a different route. The university admission calendar for A level students shows when each big university usually opens.

And if a result problem cost you a seat elsewhere this year, failed inter papers and admission refunds explains the usual rules.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read these on 1 October 2026: the NED Academy PGD yearly calendar 2026-27, the PGD advertisement for Spring-I 2027, the PGD fee structure, the PGD programme pages, and on neduet.edu.pk the undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD admission pages, the master's notice dated 28 June 2026 and the revised undergraduate schedule dated 5 July 2026. Fees and dates can change. Check NED's own page before you pay.
