To check a NEPRA complaint status online, open the Track Complaint page of NEPRA's Complaint Management System at nepra.org.pk and enter the complaint tracking number NEPRA gave you. No CNIC, password or login is asked for on that page, only the tracking number. If you have not complained yet, the same system has a Register Complaint form, and below we list every field it asks for so you can prepare before you start.

NEPRA, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority, is the regulator above LESCO, IESCO, MEPCO, K-Electric and the other power companies. You go to it when your own company has not fixed a problem. We opened NEPRA's tracking and registration pages on 31 October 2026 and read each field. We did not file a complaint ourselves.

The tracking page asks only for your complaint tracking number

NEPRA's Track Complaint page has a single box labelled "Enter Complaint Tracking No.", in English and Urdu. Type the number exactly as NEPRA sent it and submit. The page is part of the same system you used to file, so the number links straight to your case.

  1. Go to nepra.org.pk and open Consumer Affairs, then Track a Complaint.
  2. Type the complaint tracking number in the box, with no spaces.
  3. Submit and read the status and any remarks shown.
  4. Note the date you checked, in case you need to follow up.
  5. If nothing shows, call NEPRA on 051-2013200 between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Keep the tracking number somewhere safe the day you file. NEPRA's page has no search by CNIC or reference number, so the tracking number is the only key the website accepts.

Steps to check NEPRA complaint status online with a tracking number

Three ways to follow a NEPRA complaint

You can follow a complaint on the website, on the NEPRA Asaan Approach app, or by phone or in person at a NEPRA office. The website suits a complaint filed online. The app is meant for urgent problems such as a long outage.

RouteWhat you needBest for
Website, Track ComplaintComplaint tracking numberAny complaint registered online
NEPRA Asaan Approach appThe app's complaint numberUrgent complaints, such as supply failure
Phone, 051-2013200Tracking number and your nameWhen the page shows nothing
NEPRA office visitTracking number, CNIC, bill copyA complaint that has stalled

The app works differently from the website, and its own steps are in registering and tracking an urgent complaint on the NEPRA app. NEPRA has its head office in Islamabad and regional offices in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Peshawar and Quetta.

The register form asks for your bill details, CNIC and an affidavit

NEPRA's online Register Complaint form asks how old the problem is, whether you complained to your power company and what happened, your CNIC, name, address, city, mobile number, consumer category, bill reference number, company and nearest NEPRA office. Then you tick an affidavit.

Field on NEPRA's formWhat to enter

DISCO or licenseeYour power company from the list

The company list covers BTPL, FESCO, GEPCO, HAZECO, HESCO, IESCO, K-Electric, LESCO, MEPCO, NTDC, PESCO, QESCO, SEPCO and TESCO. The text boxes strip symbols such as #, @ and brackets as you type, so write plain sentences.

Fields on NEPRA's online electricity complaint form

The affidavit says you tried your company first

Before you submit, you affirm four statements. You have not filed the same complaint with NEPRA before. No court case on it is pending. You complained to the company's senior officers and they did not fix it. And the facts are true, or the complaint may be dismissed.

That third point matters most. NEPRA expects a company complaint first, with a company complaint number to show for it. If you skip it, expect NEPRA to send you back. The company route and its time limits are set out in electricity bill complaint deadlines.

Billing and metering disputes have a separate legal path through the provincial Electric Inspector, known as the Provincial Office of Inspection. That route is explained in appealing a wrong electricity bill.

What to do when the status does not move

If the status has not changed in about two weeks, call NEPRA with your tracking number, then email or visit your nearest regional office. A written follow-up with the tracking number in the subject line gives you a record.

  1. Check the status online and note the date.
  2. Call 051-2013200 in office hours and quote the tracking number.
  3. Email the regional office handling your case with the number and a copy of your bill.
  4. Visit the office with your CNIC and papers if there is still no reply.

NEPRA itself reports how many complaints it handles. Its 2026 figures are discussed in NEPRA complaints from January to September 2026.

A safety note. NEPRA's system does not ask for a fee, a bank PIN or an OTP. Anyone who calls claiming to be from NEPRA and asks for money to speed up your case is not following NEPRA's process. Report it.

Common questions

How do I check my NEPRA complaint status?

Open Track a Complaint under Consumer Affairs on nepra.org.pk and enter your complaint tracking number.

Can I track a NEPRA complaint by CNIC?

Not on the website. The tracking page asks only for the complaint tracking number. Call NEPRA if you have lost it.

What is NEPRA's complaint phone number?

The Complaint Management System lists 051-2013200, from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Do I need to complain to my company first?

Yes. NEPRA's affidavit says you complained to the company's officers and they did not resolve it.

Can I attach my bill?

Yes. The form takes one PDF attachment, so combine the bill and the company complaint into one file.

Is K-Electric included?

Yes. K-Electric is on the company list, and the form has a separate KE consumer category.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read NEPRA's Track Complaint page and its Register Complaint form on 31 October 2026, including the field labels, input patterns, company list, office list and affidavit text. We did not submit a complaint or test a tracking number, so we cannot show what the status screen displays. The two week follow-up point is our suggestion, not a NEPRA rule.
