Athletics has fewer headlines than cricket, but the season has a clear shape. One national championship comes in October, a second in April, and a run of Asian events from March to June 2027. Fans of Arshad Nadeem and the other javelin and sprint athletes can plan around them.
We opened the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) calendar for the Athletics Federation of Pakistan on 12 October 2026. It is a plan, and the PSB's own calendar shows "TBD" against several events. Dates can move, and entry lists are not part of it.
The National Athletics Championships come first, on 22 to 25 October
The 54th National Athletics Championships are listed for 22 to 25 October 2026 in Karachi. This is the main domestic track and field event of the autumn. The calendar gives no further detail.
The calendar does not give the stadium, the entry deadline or the events list. We have not seen a federation notice with those details. If you plan to attend, wait for the Athletics Federation of Pakistan to confirm the venue before you travel to Karachi.

Asian events fill the second half of the season
The international list is short and mostly in 2027. The Asian cross-country championships for juniors are listed for November 2026 with no place. Then come the Asian 20 km race walking championships in Japan on 21 March, the Asian marathon in China in March, and the Asian U-18 championships in the Philippines from 8 to 11 April.
The biggest are in China. The 27th Asian Athletics Championships are listed for 25 to 30 May 2027, and the second Asian Jumps Championships follow in June. Javelin is not a jumps event, so Pakistan's throwers would look to the May event.
The calendar lists events, not Pakistan entries. Whether Pakistan sends a team to each one is a federation decision that depends on qualifying standards and funds.

Where Arshad Nadeem fits in
Arshad Nadeem finished fourth in the Asian Games javelin final with 80.29 m, 4.06 m short of the bronze, as our Asian Games javelin report sets out. The PSB calendar does not name athletes, so we cannot say which meets he will enter.
The calendar does show the gap he and others face. After the Asian Games and the World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest on 11 to 13 September, the next major listed date for Asia is the Asian Championships in May 2027. That is about seven months away.
The national championships in October and April are where athletes post results that count at home. We would treat any report of an Arshad Nadeem entry as unconfirmed until the federation or the athlete says so.
What is on the list that has already happened
Some entries on the PSB list are in the past. The World Under-20 Athletics Championships were listed for 5 to 9 August in Oregon, USA. The Fort Munro Marathon with a 3 km race was set for 14 August in D.G. Khan. The Asian Games were listed from 19 September to 4 October in Japan.
The PSB's dates for the Asian Games differ a little from other calendars: the squash calendar lists the Games as 23 September to 2 October, while this one says 19 September to 4 October. That is why we treat the whole document as a plan, not a record.
