Where You Can Enter or Leave Pakistan: The 27 FIA Immigration Points, Airports, Land Routes and Seaports
The FIA lists 27 official immigration points in Pakistan: 14 airports, 7 land routes, 4 seaports and 2 railway stations. See the list and where pages differ.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) lists 27 official entry and exit points in Pakistan: 14 airports, 7 land routes, 4 seaports and 2 railway stations. Its Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) is installed at each of them. If a place is not on the list, you cannot clear immigration there.
We read the FIA's IBMS page and its Immigration Wing page on 22 October 2026. The two pages do not agree on the count, and we explain the gap below. Use the list before you plan an arrival, a departure or a pickup at a border.
The IBMS page names 14 airports
The FIA page lists Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Turbat, Gwadar and Sukkur airports. It notes that Sukkur is for Hajj operations only.
That makes 13 airports for ordinary travel plus one for Hajj flights. If you fly out of a smaller city, check that its airport is on this list for international flights.
| Type | Count | Points named by the FIA |
|---|---|---|
| Airports | 14 | Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Turbat, Gwadar, Sukkur (Hajj only) |
| Land routes | 7 | Taftan, Torkham, Wagah, Sost, Chaman, Kartarpur, Gabd (BP-250) |
| Seaports | 4 | Karachi, Ghas Bandar, Bin Qasim, Gwadar |
| Railway stations | 2 | Wagah, Khokhrapar |

Seven land routes cover the borders with Iran, Afghanistan, India and China
The land routes are Taftan and Gabd on the Iran side, Torkham and Chaman on the Afghan side, Wagah and Kartarpur on the India side, and Sost in the north. The page does not say which country each serves, so we added that from the place names.
A listed route is not always open. Our reports show trade suspended at Taftan and Gabd from 17 October and land trade with Afghanistan shut for a year. Both concern trade. We found no passenger notice, so ask before you travel.
The FIA's own pages disagree on the total
The Immigration Wing page says 27 notified points, made up of 13 airports, 5 land routes, 4 seaports and 2 railway stations. Those numbers add up to 24, not 27. The IBMS page lists 14, 7, 4 and 2, which does add up to 27.
We think the Immigration Wing page is out of date, since it counts fewer airports and land routes than the IBMS list names. That is our reading. The FIA has not said so. For planning, use the longer IBMS list and confirm any doubtful point with the FIA.

What the FIA does at these points
The Immigration Wing page says it handles more than 22 million passenger movements a year, enforces the ECL, PNIL and Black List, and issues tourist and business visas on arrival through the points. The ECL is the Exit Control List, which bars named people from leaving.
The IBMS grew out of an older system called PISCES, set up in 2002 under the FIA with partial help from the US government. The FIA page says the system holds records of more than 206 million travellers since 2003. Your arrival and departure at a listed point is therefore recorded.
To see how a departure works, read the steps at the FIA departure counter. If you are stopped, the documents that help you avoid offloading are worth carrying. Complaints about a counter go to the FIA one window desk.
- Find your point of travel in the table above.
- For a land route or a smaller airport, confirm that it is open to passengers now.
- Carry a valid passport and, if needed, a visa for the country you are entering.
- Go to the immigration counter at the listed point, never around it.
- Keep your boarding pass or entry stamp as your record.

Foreign visitors should also read how to get the Pakistan e-visa before arrival.
Common questions
How many official entry and exit points does Pakistan have?
The FIA's IBMS page lists 27: 14 airports, 7 land routes, 4 seaports and 2 railway stations.
Which land borders are on the list?
Taftan, Torkham, Wagah, Sost, Chaman, Kartarpur and Gabd (BP-250).
Is Sukkur airport open for ordinary travel?
The FIA page marks Sukkur as for Hajj operations only. It lists it among the airports but with that limit.
Why does one FIA page say 13 airports and another 14?
The pages differ. The IBMS list names 14, including Sukkur for Hajj only. The Immigration Wing page says 13. Use the longer list and confirm with the FIA.
Can I cross the border at a place that is not on the list?
You cannot clear immigration there, because the FIA lists no counter. We did not read the penalty provision, so we make no claim about it.
Where do I complain about FIA immigration?
The FIA's Immigration Complaint Cell takes complaints at complaints.img@fia.gov.pk and on 051-9260951, as printed on its page.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 22 October 2026. The 27 point list and the airport, route, seaport and station names come from the FIA Integrated Border Management System page. The count of 27 points, the 22 million figure and the work of the wing come from the FIA Immigration Wing page. The complaint contacts come from the FIA overseas Pakistanis complaint page. We read all three on 22 October 2026. We could not verify which points are open to passengers today, or the penalty for crossing elsewhere. The border country for each land route is our own reading of the place names.
