Mohammad Yousaf scored an unbeaten 144 as Pakistan U17 reached 306 for four on day 2 of the three-day match against Sri Lanka U17 in Multan on Saturday 10 October 2026. Pakistan lead by 21 runs with six wickets in hand. Sri Lanka U17 were bowled out for 285 earlier in the day.
We read the PCB scorecard for the match at about 19:45 PKT on 10 October, after the day's play. The PCB had not posted a written report on day 2 at that time, so every number below comes from the official scorecard. The match is at Multan Cricket Stadium and ends on Sunday 11 October.
Day one belonged to Pakistan's bowlers. Day two belonged to one batter.
Day 2 scores: Pakistan U17 306 for 4, lead by 21
Sri Lanka U17 added only eight runs to their overnight 277 for eight and were all out for 285 in 86.5 overs. Pakistan U17 then batted for 84 overs and reached 306 for four. Mohammad Yousaf was 144 not out and Hamid Raza 2 not out at the close.
| Team | Innings | Score | Overs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sri Lanka U17 | 1st | 285 all out | 86.5 |
| Pakistan U17 | 1st | 306 for 4 | 84.0 |
| Lead | Pakistan U17 | 21 runs, 6 wickets left | Day 3 to come |

A first-innings lead matters in a three-day game. With one day left, a result is still possible, but only if Pakistan push on quickly and then bowl Sri Lanka out a second time.
Mohammad Yousaf's 144 not out off 177 balls
Mohammad Yousaf hit 14 fours and four sixes in his unbeaten 144 from 177 balls, a strike rate of 81. He shared stands with Sudais Ahmed, captain Azan Ahmed and Mohammad Yaqoob Khan, and was still there when play ended on day 2.
That strike rate stands out in a red-ball game where the other top-order batters scored at 36 to 55 runs per 100 balls. Yousaf scored 80 of his runs in boundaries. Here is how the Pakistan innings was built, wicket by wicket:
- 75 for 1: Daud Tauqeer Rana lbw to Sandaru Malshan for 24.
- 142 for 2: Sudais Ahmed run out for 61 off 144 balls.
- 228 for 3: Azan Ahmed caught off Raveen Sachintha for 31.
- 299 for 4: Mohammad Yaqoob Khan caught off Tharuka Samanjith for 26.
- 306 for 4: Yousaf 144 not out, Hamid Raza 2 not out at the close.

Sri Lanka used seven bowlers. Sandaru Malshan bowled the most, 23 overs for 74 runs and one wicket. Tharuka Samanjith was the tidiest, one for 45 from 17 overs with five maidens.
Sashith Bandara's century lifted Sri Lanka to 285
Sashith Bandara, 96 not out overnight, reached 103 from 198 balls with 12 fours before Mohammad Ihsaan bowled him. Fahad Iqbal removed Raveen Sachintha for 38. Ihsaan and Fahad finished with three wickets each.
Sri Lanka's ninth-wicket stand was worth 79 runs, from 198 to 277. Without it, Pakistan would have been chasing well under 250. Their bowlers had reduced Sri Lanka to 96 for five on day one.
| Pakistan U17 bowler | Overs | Runs | Wickets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mohammad Ihsaan | 21.5 | 62 | 3 |
| Fahad Iqbal | 16.0 | 46 | 3 |
| Mohammad Yaqoob Khan | 9.0 | 33 | 2 |
| Abdullah Ahmed Butt | 11.0 | 48 | 1 |
| Mohammad Saim | 18.0 | 50 | 1 |
| Hamid Raza | 11.0 | 31 | 0 |

Abdullah Ahmed Butt gave away six no-balls. That is a lot for 11 overs, and something coaches will want fixed before the one-day games.
Day 3 on Sunday, then five one-day matches from 15 October
The three-day match ends on Sunday 11 October. Five one-day matches follow at Multan Cricket Stadium on 15, 17, 19, 21 and 24 October. The PCB says the three-day match is streamed live on Tapmad and Tamasha in Pakistan, and on the PCB YouTube channel outside Pakistan.
For Sunday, the simple question is how long Pakistan bat. A big lead by lunch would give Azan Ahmed, a leg-spinner, two sessions to bowl Sri Lanka out. If Pakistan bat too long, the game drifts to a draw.
