The Pakistani passport fee in Oman is reported as OMR 12 for a normal 36 page, 5 year passport and OMR 19 urgent at the Embassy of Pakistan in Muscat, with the 10 year book from OMR 17. Those figures were reported in April 2026 for fees from 1 May 2026. The embassy's own page does not publish the amounts, so confirm them with the passport section before you pay.

What the embassy does publish, and we read on 27 October 2026, are the papers, the lost passport rule (double, then four times the fee), the rules for children, and the passport section's direct contacts. All of that is below, along with the embassy's own advice to renew a full year early.

Pakistani passport fee in Oman, as reported

Reported fees from 1 May 2026 are OMR 12 for a normal 36 page, 5 year passport, OMR 19 urgent, and from OMR 17 for 10 years. The Muscat embassy's page sets the lost passport rule but no amounts, so treat these as unconfirmed.

Why not a full table? We looked for one on the embassy's consular page and its contact page, and found none. The report we read gave no 72 page or urgent 10 year figures either. The safest step is a call to the passport section, whose numbers are further down.

A lost passport costs double, then four times

The Muscat embassy states it plainly. A first loss means double the fee. A second loss means four times the fee. A third loss goes to the passport head office in Islamabad, and the embassy follows its decision.

On the reported OMR 12 fee, that would mean OMR 24 after a first loss and OMR 48 after a second, for a 36 page, 5 year normal book. Those sums are our arithmetic on an unconfirmed base. Bring the police report of the lost passport with your other papers.

Papers the Muscat embassy asks for

Adults bring three things, each with a copy: a valid identity card, the original passport, and the Omani civil card. Government and semi-government employees, and staff of autonomous bodies, also bring an NOC from their department. Requirements can change with your case.

The identity card means your CNIC or NICOP, and it must be valid. If it has expired, sort that first; the NICOP renewal on PakID is the usual route from abroad. Government employees can find the government employee NOC process useful before they travel to the embassy.

  1. Check your CNIC or NICOP is valid.
  2. Copy your ID card, passport and Omani civil card.
  3. Call the passport section to confirm the current fee.
  4. Apply in person at the embassy in Madinat Sultan Qaboos.
  5. Collect the new passport and keep it with you.
Steps to renew a Pakistani passport at the embassy in Muscat

Children need an FRC and a parent present

For under 18s, Muscat asks for the original CRC, Smart Card or NICOP, the parents' ID cards, passports or Omani civil cards, and a Family Registration Certificate. A first passport also needs the birth certificate. A parent must come along.

Children under 15 get 5 year passports only. If one parent is outside Oman, the passport is issued only with that parent's permission. After a separation or a parent's death, bring the custody or guardianship certificate from a family court, and the court must allow passports for travel. The NADRA Family Registration Certificate is the document most families do not have ready.

Renew a year before expiry, the embassy says

The Muscat embassy's guidance for citizens asks Pakistanis to apply for a new passport at least one year before the old one expires. Oman fines even a single day of overstay heavily, and a last-minute renewal can leave your visa and civil card stuck.

The same guidance tells workers to get their labour or residence card within a month of arriving and to keep a copy of their work contract. For residence and work rules, the Oman work visa for Pakistanis covers the employer side. The embassy also suggests life insurance that covers repatriation of a body to Pakistan, which it says some companies sell for about OMR 15 for two years.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the Embassy of Pakistan Muscat's consular affairs page, its contact page and its guidance for citizens on 27 October 2026. None of them lists passport fee amounts. The OMR 12, OMR 19 and OMR 17 figures were reported in April 2026 for fees from 1 May 2026; we could not confirm them on an official page, which is why we mark them as reported. Lost passport amounts are our arithmetic on those figures.
