Pakistani passport fee in Switzerland: CHF 35 for 5 years and CHF 53 for 10 years at the Bern embassy, up to CHF 540 for a lost one. See how to pay and book.

A Pakistani passport at the embassy in Bern costs CHF 35 for a normal 5 year, 36 page passport and CHF 53 for a 10 year one, rising to CHF 195 for an urgent 10 year, 100 page book. A lost passport costs CHF 70 to CHF 540 depending on how many times you have lost one. Below is the full Swiss franc table, how to pay (no cash), the online appointment link and the papers for adults and newborns.
We read the Embassy of Pakistan in Bern's consular page on mofa.gov.pk on 2 November 2026. The embassy covers Pakistanis living in Switzerland. It sees applicants by online appointment, Monday to Friday, between 10 am and 12 noon.
Pakistani passport fee in Switzerland for 5 and 10 years
The embassy charges CHF 35 to CHF 130 for a 5 year passport and CHF 53 to CHF 195 for a 10 year one, depending on pages and speed. Urgent costs roughly 1.5 to 2 times normal. The table below is copied from the embassy's own fee list.
| Passport | 5 years, normal | 5 years, urgent | 10 years, normal | 10 years, urgent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 36 pages | CHF 35 | CHF 60 | CHF 53 | CHF 90 |
| 72 pages | CHF 65 | CHF 100 | CHF 98 | CHF 150 |
| 100 pages | CHF 70 | CHF 130 | CHF 105 | CHF 195 |
| 1st loss | CHF 70 | CHF 180 | CHF 105 | CHF 270 |
| 2nd loss | CHF 140 | CHF 360 | CHF 210 | CHF 540 |
A third loss is not handled in Bern. The embassy says the case is referred to the Ministry of Interior in Islamabad.
The embassy still labels this table "MRP", the machine readable passport. Pakistan has been moving applicants to the e-passport, so confirm at your appointment which book you will get and whether the fee is the same.

The 10 year passport is cheaper per year
A normal 36 page passport costs CHF 35 for 5 years, which is CHF 7 a year, and CHF 53 for 10 years, which is CHF 5.30 a year. Unless the applicant is a child who can only get 5 years, the 10 year book is better value.
That per year figure is our arithmetic from the embassy's prices. The same logic holds at home, and the reasons are set out in 5 or 10 year passport fees in Pakistan.
The lost passport rows hide a quirk. For normal passports, a first loss is double the fee and a second loss four times. For urgent passports, the embassy charges three times and six times instead. A first loss of an urgent 10 year passport is CHF 270, three times CHF 90.
Pay by bank transfer or card, because the embassy takes no cash
The embassy says consular fees go to its UBS account in Bern, and a debit or credit card machine is available at the embassy. It states that no cash is accepted in any form. The fee is non refundable, so check your papers before you pay.
| Payment detail | What the embassy lists |
|---|---|
| Bank | UBS AG, Bern |
| IBAN | CH12 0023 5235 4125 0001 H |
| Account number | 235-412500.01 H |
| At the embassy | Debit or credit card |
| Cash | Not accepted |
The embassy does not say what to write in the transfer reference. We suggest your full name and the word "passport", so the payment is easy to match, and bring the transfer receipt to the appointment.

Book online and bring four things to the Bern embassy
The embassy books passport, power of attorney, birth registration and attestation visits online through its picktime booking page. Bring your original CNIC or NICOP with a copy, your current passport with a copy, and your Swiss residence permit with a copy. You must come in person for photo and fingerprints.
- Book a slot on the embassy's online appointment page, PakEmbassyBern on picktime.com.
- Pay the fee by UBS transfer, or plan to pay by card at the embassy.
- Bring your CNIC or NICOP, current passport and residence permit, each with a photocopy.
- Arrive between 10 am and 12 noon on your appointment day.
- Give a registered mail return envelope if you want the passport posted to you.
The Bern page does not list extra papers for a lost passport. Other Pakistani missions, such as Bahrain and Jordan, ask for a police report giving the old passport number, so get one before you book. If you live in another European country, the Pakistani passport fee in Germany uses euros and a different table.
A newborn needs Form S and a NICOP before the passport
For a baby born in Switzerland, register the birth first on Form S. Both parents sign a consent letter in front of a consular officer, and bring the birth certificate, their passports and CNICs, Swiss residence permits and two photos of the child. The embassy issues the passport only after the NICOP.
The embassy advises parents to apply for the child's NICOP online at the same time as the birth registration. The steps to apply for a NICOP online work from Switzerland, and the card is posted to you.
