Pay the Rs 600,000 Private Medical College Deposit to UHS Within 3 Working Days in Punjab
A private MBBS or BDS seat in Punjab needs Rs 600,000 paid to UHS within three working days of the merit list. See who gets it, retain or upgrade, and risks.

If your name appears on a UHS merit list for a private MBBS or BDS seat in Punjab, you must deposit Rs 600,000 into the designated UHS account within three working days. Download the challan from the admission portal. If you miss the deadline, the offer is cancelled and the seat goes to the next candidate. The rest of the college fee is paid directly to the college.
The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore sets out the payment rules in its private sector admission notice for session 2026-27. We read the notice on 22 October 2026. This guide explains the deposit, the "retain or upgrade" choice that follows, and the mistakes that cost a seat.
The Rs 600,000 goes to UHS first and is passed to the college later
UHS collects the Rs 600,000 in its own account, not at the college. After admissions are completed, UHS transfers it to the college where you are finally admitted. The deposit is part of your college fee, so it is not an extra charge, but it is due early.
The challan comes from your portal account. Do not pay Rs 600,000 to a college counter, an agent or a personal account to "hold" a seat. The notice names only one route: the designated UHS account, using the challan you download.
| Payment | Amount | Paid to | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Application processing fee | Rs 2,000 | BOP or NBP by challan | When you apply |
| First deposit | Rs 600,000 | Designated UHS account | Within three working days of the merit list display |
| Remaining college fee | College fee less Rs 600,000 | The college directly | Within three working days of the selection list, if you retain your seat |

Three working days is short, so plan the money before the list comes out
For MBBS, UHS has set the first selection list for Wednesday 18 November 2026. If three working days start the next day and weekends are not counted, the deposit would fall due by Monday 23 November. That count is ours. UHS does not print a calendar date, so confirm the due date on the challan.
Families need Rs 600,000 ready. A bank transfer or challan payment can take a day, and a bank holiday can eat into the window. Keep the amount available from the day the application closes, 6 November 2026, and watch the list dates in the guide to applying for private MBBS in Punjab.
After you deposit, you choose to retain your seat or wait for an upgrade
Students admitted in a private college can keep the seat they are given or opt for upgradation in later lists. At the time of joining, the candidate signs a consent that marks one choice: retain the allotted seat, or opt for upgradation in later lists under UHS procedure. UHS says the choice is final once made.
That finality matters. The notice says the option "shall attain finality and neither be revoked nor modified at any subsequent stage". Think about it before you sign. If your first preference is the college that gave you the seat, retaining is simple. If you ranked a better college higher, upgrading may be worth the wait.
- Check the merit list on the UHS website for your name and the college shown.
- Download the Rs 600,000 challan from the portal and pay it within three working days.
- Decide whether to retain the seat or opt for upgradation, and sign the consent.
- If you retain, submit your original documents to the college and pay the remaining fee within three working days.
- If you upgrade, wait for the next list. You pay no fee to the first college apart from the Rs 600,000 already with UHS.

Retaining a seat means paying the college and submitting originals within three days
A candidate admitted to a first preference college, or who chooses to retain an allotted seat, must submit original documents and pay the remaining college fee within three working days of the display of the selection list with their name. The Rs 600,000 already paid is not counted again.
The fee can be paid quarterly, half-yearly or yearly, according to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) rules the notice mentions. The size of the remaining amount depends on the college. The regulator's ceiling is covered in the report on the PM&DC private college fee cap, and you should ask each college for its fee in writing.
Opting for an upgrade means no fee to the first college except the UHS deposit
A candidate who opts for upgradation does not pay any fee to the college first allotted, other than the Rs 600,000 already deposited with UHS when the name first appeared on a list. The remaining fee is due at the college where admission is finally decided.
The notice does not say what happens to the deposit if you leave the process or when a refund would apply. We could not find that rule. Ask UHS on 042-99231308, 042-99231078 or 042-99231071 before you pay, and keep the answer in writing.
Common questions
How much is the first deposit for a private medical college in Punjab?
It is Rs 600,000, paid into the designated UHS account within three working days of the merit list display. The challan is on the admission portal.
Is the Rs 600,000 on top of the college fee?
No. UHS transfers it to your college after admissions end. It counts toward the college fee, and you pay the remainder to the college.
What happens if I miss the three day deadline?
The notice says the offer is cancelled and the seat goes to the next candidate on the merit list. Pay on time.
Can I change my retain or upgrade choice later?
No. UHS says the option, once chosen, is final and cannot be revoked or changed at any later stage.
Do I pay the college directly for the remaining fee?
Yes. After finalisation you pay the remaining fee straight to the college, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly, under the PM&DC policy named in the notice.
Is the Rs 600,000 refundable?
The notice does not say. Ask UHS before you pay. We did not find a refund rule in the notice we read.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 22 October 2026. We read the UHS notice "MBBS and BDS Admissions, Private Sector Medical and Dental Colleges in Punjab, Session 2026-27" on the UHS website. The Rs 600,000 deposit, the three working day rules, the retain or upgrade choice and the phone numbers come from that notice. The 23 November due date is our own count, not a UHS date. We could not verify refund rules or the exact wording of the consent form. Confirm all amounts with UHS before paying.
