Short answer: The PCB has fined one team and three players in the President's Trophy Grade-I 2026-27. Pakistan Television lost one point and each player paid 10 per cent of the match fee for a slow over-rate. Three players received Level 1 fines of 25, 50 and 100 per cent.

We read the PCB's code of conduct announcements for the tournament on 13 October 2026. Its page carries two entries, dated 22 and 29 September. We found none for rounds 4 or 5. The rules apply to every player in the tournament, from the first ball.

Pakistan Television lost a point for a slow over-rate

Pakistan Television were found guilty of a minimum over-rate offence in round 2 against State Bank of Pakistan at Abbottabad. Each member of the playing XI was fined 10 per cent of the applicable match fee, and PTV lost one point from their total after two rounds.

The offence falls under Article 2.22 of the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Saqib Khan and Farooq Ali. The PCB announced it on 22 September 2026.

A slow over-rate is a team offence, so the fine fell on every member of the XI and the point came off the team's total in the table we track in our President's Trophy Grade-I fixtures and points table.

Three players were fined for Level 1 breaches in round 3

State Bank's Mubasir Khan was fined 100 per cent of his match fee, Ghani's Mohsin Riaz 50 per cent and Kingsmen Academy's Shoaib Afridi 25 per cent. All three were Level 1 breaches in round 3, which ran from 24 to 27 September, announced on 29 September.

Mubasir's offence came in the State Bank v Ghani match at the National Ground in Islamabad. Mohsin Riaz's offence was after he got out in the 66th over of the same match. Shoaib Afridi's came against Pakistan Television at the Diamond Cricket Ground.

The same level of breach can carry a different fine

All three players had Level 1 breaches, yet the fines were 100, 50 and 25 per cent. The PCB's announcement does not say why the percentages differ. It names the match referee who imposed each fine and gives no further reason.

Iqbal Sheikh imposed the fines on Mubasir and Mohsin, on charges from umpires Rashid Riaz Waqar and Imtiaz Iqbal. Ali Naqvi fined Shoaib Afridi on charges from Imranullah Aslam and Zulfiqar Jan. We have not read the Code of Conduct itself, so we cannot say what range of fine a Level 1 breach allows.

Article numbers tell you which rule was broken. Article 2.5 is about reactions to a dismissal, Article 2.2 about equipment and ground fittings, and Article 2.22 about over-rates. The same article can cover very different incidents, so read the release and not only the number.

  1. An on-field umpire reports the offence.
  2. The match referee decides the sanction.
  3. The PCB announces the finding and the fine.
  4. Team points can also be reduced, as with the over-rate offence.

Where to find new announcements

The PCB posts these findings as press releases headed President's Trophy Grade-I 2026-27: Code of conduct violation announcements. The two entries so far came within about two days of a round ending, on our reading of the dates.

Scores and fixtures are on the match centre, which is a different page.

The scores page is explained in the guide to checking domestic cricket scores and fixtures on the PCB website. Our report on the round 5 results covers the latest finished round. The rules for the shorter domestic formats are in the guide to the PCB domestic T20 and one-day playing conditions.

Common questions

What does a slow over-rate cost a team in the President's Trophy?

In the one case announced, each player paid 10 per cent of the match fee and the team lost one point.

Which players were fined in round 3?

Mubasir Khan of State Bank, Mohsin Riaz of Ghani and Shoaib Afridi of Kingsmen Academy were fined for Level 1 breaches.

Not on the page we read on 13 October. The page lists only the 22 and 29 September announcements.
