PM Youth Chromebook Scheme registration is now open for Sindh students of two boards: BSE Karachi and BISE Larkano. Class 9 toppers from government schools in those boards can apply on the IBCC portal at pmychromebooks.ibcc.edu.pk. Students of BISE Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpur Khas and Shaheed Benazirabad must wait, because the portal lists those four boards as "coming soon".

We checked the IBCC Chromebook portal on 4 November 2026. When we read the same portal on 20 October 2026, it listed no Sindh board at all. Below: who qualifies, the four documents you need, the steps, and what Sindh students of the other four boards should do now.

Karachi and Larkano boards are open, four Sindh boards are not

The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) runs the portal. It now carries a notice for Sindh students. Registration opens for each Sindh board only after that board declares its Class 9 Annual Examination 2026 result. Two boards have crossed that line, and four have not.

The notice says registration for Sindh students "will be opened on the same portal" after "the declaration of the Annual Examination 2026 results of Class 9th by all examination boards of Sindh". It then lists the open boards and the waiting boards.

The board list on the portal now has 26 boards. Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, AJK and the Federal Board were already there in October. The six Sindh boards are the new entries.

Only Class 9 toppers in government schools qualify

The scheme is for students of government schools only. In Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan it covers the top performers of Class 9 (SSC-I) in the Annual Examination 2026. A private school student cannot apply, however high the marks.

The portal sets out the rules in three lines:

  • For the boards of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, only top-performing Grade 9 students from government schools are considered.
  • For AJK, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan, top performers of both Grade 9 and Grade 10 are considered.
  • Only students enrolled in government schools are eligible.

The portal does not say how many Chromebooks each board gets. It also does not give a cut-off mark. "Top-performing" is the only test it states, so apply if you are a government school student with a strong Class 9 result.

Keep four documents ready, each under 300 KB

You upload four files on the portal. Each can be a JPG, PNG or PDF, and each must be 300 KB or smaller. A phone photo is usually larger than that, so shrink it before you start.

DocumentFormat and size
Recent colour photo of the studentJPG, PNG or PDF, up to 300 KB
Class 9 (SSC-I) marks sheetJPG, PNG or PDF, up to 300 KB
Attested B-Form or CNIC of the studentJPG, PNG or PDF, up to 300 KB
Attested CNIC of the father or guardianJPG, PNG or PDF, up to 300 KB

The portal asks for attested copies of the B-Form and the CNIC, so get them attested before you scan them. It does not say who must attest them; ask your school head if you are unsure.

Register in five steps on pmychromebooks.ibcc.edu.pk

The form takes about ten minutes if the files are ready. You find your board record first, check it, then upload and submit. At the end the portal gives you a reference number and a slip.

  1. Open pmychromebooks.ibcc.edu.pk and choose BSE Karachi or BISE Larkano from the board list.
  2. Enter your B-Form or CNIC number, or your roll or registration number, with your date of birth, and press "Find my record".
  3. Check the name, marks and school the portal shows. They come from your board.
  4. Upload the four documents, each under 300 KB.
  5. Submit, note the reference number and download the slip.

If the portal cannot find your record, try your roll number or registration number instead of the B-Form. If it still fails, contact your board. Karachi students can confirm the board's real website first in our check of BSEK's official site.

Steps to register for the PM Youth Chromebook Scheme on the IBCC portal

You get one application and cannot edit it later

Each student can submit only one application. Once you submit, you cannot change the form yourself. A wrong detail can therefore cost you the Chromebook, so check every field before the last click.

The portal also warns that false information will cancel the allocation and may lead to further action. It shows no fee. Nobody should ask you for money to register or to "confirm" a Chromebook. If someone does, treat it as a scam.

The portal gives no last date for Sindh. In Punjab and other provinces, boards gave 19 October 2026 as the last date, as we reported in our earlier Chromebook scheme report. A Sindh deadline may come with little warning, so apply now if your board is open.

What students of the other four Sindh boards should do now

If you study in a government school under the Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpur Khas or Shaheed Benazirabad board, you cannot apply yet. Your board must first declare its Class 9 result for 2026. Use the wait to prepare.

  • Scan and shrink the four documents now.
  • Get the B-Form and the father's CNIC attested.
  • Check the IBCC portal every few days for your board to switch to "open".
  • Watch your board's own website for its Class 9 result.

For the board result websites that actually load, see our test of Sindh board result sites.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 4 November 2026. We read the IBCC PM Youth Chromebook Scheme portal, including its Sindh notice, eligibility lines, the board list and the document rules. On 20 October 2026 the same portal listed no Sindh board. The portal does not say on which day the Sindh boards were added, how many Chromebooks there are, or the cut-off mark, so we have not stated them.
