Polyclinic Hospital Islamabad OPD Timings: Morning and Evening Shifts, Free Tests and Phone
Polyclinic Islamabad OPD runs 8am to 1pm and 2pm to 7pm, Monday to Saturday, with a 24 hour emergency. See free tests, vaccination days and the 051 number.

The Federal Government Polyclinic in Islamabad runs two OPD shifts, Monday to Saturday: a morning shift from about 8am to 1pm and an evening shift from 2pm to 7pm. Its emergency is open 24 hours, and the main number is 051-9218300. The hospital is at 44 Luqman Hakeem Road, G-6/2, and says consultations, tests and medicines are free.
The evening shift is what makes Polyclinic different from most government hospitals in the capital, because working people can see a doctor after office hours. Below are both shifts, the vaccination and antenatal days, what is free, and a small timing clash on the hospital's own website. We read the Polyclinic website on 25 October 2026.
Polyclinic OPD runs a morning and an evening shift, six days a week
Polyclinic's home page lists OPD hours of 8am to 1pm in the morning and 2pm to 7pm in the evening, Monday to Saturday. The emergency department works 24 hours, seven days a week. Sunday is emergency only.
| Service | Days | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Morning OPD | Monday to Saturday | 8:00am to 1:00pm (FAQ says 8:30am to 1:30pm) |
| Evening OPD | Monday to Saturday | 2:00pm to 7:00pm |
| Children's vaccination | Days not stated | 8:30am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 7:00pm |
| International vaccination | Days not stated | 8:30am to 2:00pm |
| Antenatal cards (gynae) | Every Friday | From the fourth month of pregnancy |
| Emergency | Every day | 24 hours |

The hospital's own pages give two different morning times
Polyclinic's home page says the morning OPD runs from 8:00am to 1:00pm, while its FAQ page says 8:30am to 1:30pm. Both agree on the evening shift of 2pm to 7pm. Arrive by 8am and you are safe either way.
The gap matters most at the end of the morning. A patient who arrives at 1:10pm, trusting the FAQ, may find the morning counters closing if the home page is the one in force. Our advice is plain: treat 1pm as the cut-off, and if you miss it, come back for the evening shift at 2pm.
We did not visit, so we could not confirm which time the registration counter actually follows. Call 051-9218300 before a long trip.
Consultations, tests and medicines are free at Polyclinic
Polyclinic says it provides free consultations, admissions, medicines, diagnostic tests and procedures. Its FAQ lists blood tests, x-rays, ultrasound and ECG among the free tests, and says outdoor patients receive medicines while admitted patients get complete treatment.
The Polyclinic FAQ page also says its emergency is non-stop for all patients and includes x-rays, ultrasound and operation theatre services. The hospital's mission statement promises equal access without discrimination.
| Service | What Polyclinic says |
|---|---|
| Doctor consultation | Free |
| Lab tests, x-ray, ultrasound, ECG | Free |
| Medicines for OPD patients | Provided |
| Admission and indoor treatment | Free, including injectables |
| Emergency with x-ray, ultrasound and theatre | 24 hours |
"Free" does not mean every medicine is always in stock. Government pharmacies run short at times, so keep some money aside for a brand the doctor writes that the hospital pharmacy does not have.

How to see a doctor at Polyclinic OPD
Bring your CNIC, any old reports and the medicines you take. Go to the OPD registration counter for a slip, wait at the clinic for your department, then take tests and return with the results. Use the emergency entrance only for urgent cases.
- Reach G-6/2 early, ideally by 8am for the morning shift or by 2pm for the evening shift.
- Take a registration slip at the OPD counter with your CNIC.
- Wait at the clinic of the department you need: medicine, surgery, orthopaedics or another.
- If the doctor orders tests, go to the lab, x-ray or ultrasound and collect results.
- Return to the doctor, then collect medicines from the hospital pharmacy.
Polyclinic's website shows departments including medicine, surgery, orthopaedics and radiology, and its about page lists cardiology, endoscopy, maternity, pathology, physical therapy and an inpatient department. It does not publish a clinic-by-clinic day schedule, so ask at the counter which day your specialist sits.

Polyclinic phone numbers, address and app
The main number is 051-9218300, which the hospital marks as 24 hours, with 051-9213175 as a second line. The address is 44 Luqman Hakeem Road, G-6/2, Islamabad. Polyclinic also has an Android app on the Play Store.
The Polyclinic contact directory lists the Executive Director's office on 051-9214965 and the courtesy centre and evening administration on 051-9205447. Most officers in the longer directory have only internal extensions, so call the main line and ask for the extension.
The hospital also handles birth registration for babies born there. Parents fill a form online or on paper and collect the birth certificate from the record room. The wider steps to register a child are in this birth certificate guide for Pakistan.
PIMS and other options when Polyclinic is full
PIMS in G-8 is the other big federal hospital in Islamabad and runs a morning OPD. Polyclinic's evening shift is the better choice after work, while PIMS has more specialist clinics. For a serious emergency anywhere in the city, call 1122.
The PIMS Islamabad OPD timings and clinic days are worth checking before you choose. Both hospitals are busy, and the first hour of each shift is the most crowded.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 25 October 2026. We read the Federal Government Polyclinic website at fgpc.gov.pk on 25 October 2026: the home page for OPD hours, address and phone, the FAQ page for free services, vaccination and antenatal days, the contact and officers' directory pages, the departments and about pages, and the birth registration page. The home page and FAQ give different morning hours, and we report both. We did not visit or call the hospital, so we could not confirm which morning time the counter follows, medicine stock or waiting times. This page is information only; for medical advice, speak to a doctor.
