Potohar Agriculture Transformation Plan Subsidies 2026-27 in Punjab: Every Scheme, Amount and Last Date
Potohar plan subsidies for 2026-27 in Punjab: olive, land levelling and fencing are open, mini dams, ginger and tomato closed. Amounts, offices and forms here.

Under Punjab's Potohar Agriculture Transformation Plan, three subsidies are still open for 2026-27: olive orchards at Rs 57,960 an acre, land levelling at up to Rs 77,000 an acre, and mesh fencing in Murree district, each paid at about 70 per cent of cost. Three others, mini dams, ginger tunnels and off-season tomatoes, closed between August and September 2026. Below is every scheme in one table, who qualifies, which office takes the form, and the conditions that are easy to miss.
The plan covers the rain-fed Potohar districts of Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal and Talagang, with some schemes also open in the Soon Valley of Khushab. We read the advertisements and the application forms on the Punjab Agriculture Department's forms page on 31 October 2026.
Six Potohar schemes, three open and three closed for 2026-27
Olive planting, land levelling and fencing take applications through the 2026-27 financial year, first come, first served. Mini dams closed on 7 August 2026, ginger on 15 September 2026 and the Khushab tomato scheme on 26 August 2026, with its draw on 7 September.
| Scheme | Where | Subsidy | Status on 31 October 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Olive orchards | Rawalpindi Division and Soon Valley | Rs 57,960 an acre | Open, first come, first served |
| Land levelling for irrigation | Six Potohar districts and Khushab | 70%, up to Rs 77,000 an acre, 5 acres maximum | Open during 2026-27 |
| Mesh fencing of farmland | Murree and Kotli Sattian tehsils only | 70%, up to Rs 1,003,000 per 10 kanal as printed | Open during 2026-27 |
| Mini dams | Six Potohar districts | 70%, up to Rs 1,750,000 | Closed 7 August 2026 |
| Ginger under tunnels | Potohar and Soon Valley | Rs 3,290,000 an acre | Closed 15 September 2026 |
| Off-season tomato | Khushab and Soon Valley | Rs 70,000 an acre | Closed 26 August 2026, draw 7 September |
All six come from the department's own advertisements. The fencing figure is printed as Rs 1,003,000 per ten kanal, which looks high for fencing alone, so confirm it at the office before you plan around it.

Land levelling pays up to Rs 77,000 an acre for land near a water store
The levelling subsidy pays 70 per cent of the cost of bulldozer work to level and improve land for irrigation, up to Rs 77,000 an acre and for a maximum of five acres. The plan aims to level 2,250 acres in 2026-27, first come, first served.
The advertisement asks for land owned by the farmer or a community, of at least 25 acres, lying near a water store such as a mini dam or pond. The form asks for the source of water next to the land, who owns the dam or pond and when it was built. Once a work order is issued, work must start within 15 days and finish in the set time.
On our arithmetic, the maximum a single farmer can get is Rs 385,000, for five acres at Rs 77,000 each.
Mesh fencing is only for Murree and Kotli Sattian farmers
Fencing is limited to Murree district, in Murree and Kotli Sattian tehsils. You need at least 12 kanal of joined-up farmland, and up to 10 kanal of it can be fenced. The plan covers 1,200 kanal in 2026-27.
- Apply as one farmer or as a community, on separate forms.
- Land already under cultivation gets preference.
- The fenced land must be used only for farming for 10 years.
- A community must list its members, name a leader and attach an affidavit on Rs 100 stamp paper.
- Forms are also free at the Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension) office in Murree and the Assistant Director's office in Kotli Sattian.

Submit the form at the soil conservation office of your district
Download the form from agripunjab.gov.pk, or collect it free from the district office of Soil Conservation or Agricultural Engineering. Submit it with your CNIC copy and fard. Each scheme needs its own form, and one farmer can use only one scheme at a time.
- Pick one scheme. The forms say a farmer can benefit from only one facility at a time.
- Download that scheme's form from the forms page on agripunjab.gov.pk.
- Fill it in clearly with your name, computerised CNIC, phone, land area, mouza, tehsil and district.
- Attach a copy of your CNIC and the fard (land ownership record).
- Sign the affidavit on the form, which includes accepting the department's final decision in any dispute.
- Submit it at the office of the Director, Deputy Director or Assistant Director Soil Conservation or Agricultural Engineering in your district, and keep a receipt.
In any dispute, the Additional Director General Soil Conservation in Rawalpindi decides, and the forms say you accept that decision. The agriculture helpline is 0800-17000, from 8 am to 8 pm daily.
Mini dams, ginger and tomatoes closed, but note the terms for next year
The three closed schemes may return in the next financial year, so their terms are worth knowing. Mini dams needed 25 acres of land, ginger paid for tunnels and drip, and the tomato scheme paid only on half the area planted.
- Mini dams: 150 dams planned for 2026-27. At least 25 acres owned by the farmer or community at the site. Subsidy 70 per cent, up to Rs 1,750,000. If the cost goes above Rs 2,500,000, the farmer pays the extra. Ten per cent of the aid is held back until the area below the dam is improved. Places were decided by ballot when applications exceeded targets.
- Ginger: Rs 3,290,000 an acre for a tunnel structure, drip irrigation, shade net and ginger seed. The plan covers 110 acres from 2025 to 2028; this year's advert names 7 acres in Potohar and 3 in the Soon Valley.
- Off-season tomato: Rs 70,000 an acre for planting before 15 November, but only on half the area planted. Plant 2 acres and the subsidy covers 1 acre. Applicants had to live in Khushab district.
For olive planting, which is still open, the full rules and the cost of each plant are on the department's olive form. Farmers outside Potohar can look at the Thal farm subsidies or the province-wide list of Punjab farm machinery subsidies.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 31 October 2026. We read, in Urdu, the department's Potohar Transformation Plan advertisement, the olive, ginger and off-season tomato advertisements, and the five-page Potohar application forms for mini dams, fencing and land levelling, all on agripunjab.gov.pk. The Rs 385,000 levelling maximum is our own arithmetic. We could not confirm the fencing ceiling of Rs 1,003,000, which is printed that way in the advertisement, or whether the closed schemes will reopen in 2027-28, because the department has not said.
