What an official conversion rate is for
The State Bank says these are average rates for authorised dealers. They are valid for converting foreign currency deposits, dollar certificates, special US dollar bonds and the profit on them, and for forward cover on deposits. They do not include FE-25 accounts.
That means the rate is a reference for banks and for holders of those accounts. It is not a buy or sell quote for walk-in customers. A bank or exchange company adds its own spread, so what you get or pay will differ.
For a plain check of the dollar rate you were offered, see the guide on how to check the dollar rate against the State Bank's sheet. The latest interbank dollar rate is in our note on the dollar rate on 12 October.
What 500 pounds or 500 euros is worth at the State Bank rate
The sum is the rate times the amount. At the sheet of 14 October, 500 pounds is worth Rs 183,646 and 500 euros is worth Rs 154,986. These are our own sums and they leave out any fee or spread.
If someone abroad sends you money, the amount you receive depends on the rate your exchange company or bank uses on the day. Ask for the rate in writing before you agree. The steps to receive a remittance through Raast show what to ask. Before you sell any foreign currency, check that the exchange company is SBP authorised.
Remittances matter for the rupee. They were $3.59 billion in September 2026, as in the note on September's remittances.

Common questions about the pound and euro rate
What is the pound rate in Pakistan today?
The State Bank's conversion rate for the pound is Rs 367.2920 for 15 October 2026. An exchange company's rate will differ.
What is the euro rate in Pakistan today?
The State Bank's conversion rate for the euro is Rs 309.9719 for 15 October 2026. Your bank or money changer sets its own buy and sell prices.
Is this the rate I will get at the exchange?
No. It is an official reference rate for certain accounts and for dealers. A bank or exchange company adds a spread, so the buying rate is lower and the selling rate is higher.
Why does the rate have two dates?
The sheet shows the day it applies to customer transactions, 15 October, and a settlement value date, 19 October. Customers care about the first.
Does the State Bank list the Saudi riyal or the UAE dirham?
Not on the conversion rate sheet we read. It lists only the dollar, yen, pound and euro. We did not check other State Bank tables for those two currencies.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 14 October 2026. The rates come from the State Bank of Pakistan's conversion rates sheet of 14 October 2026 and the sheets of 7, 9, 12 and 13 October on its Economic Data page. The changes and the 500-unit sums are our arithmetic. Rates change daily, so confirm the current sheet before you rely on it.
