The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has published the result of the Punjab Departmental Examination 2025, and 88 of the 116 officers on the list passed. The other 28 failed. PPSC put the notice on its Written Results page on 4 November 2026 under Case No. 38C2025.

This exam is not a job test. It is the departmental exam that serving officers of the Punjab government, mostly Provincial Management Service (PMS) officers, sit after joining. We read the full 15 page notice on ppsc.gop.pk on 5 November and counted every line. Here is what it shows and what an officer on the list should do next.

Bar chart of the PPSC Departmental Examination 2025 result: 88 passed and 28 failed out of 116 officers

88 of 116 officers passed the Punjab Departmental Examination 2025

PPSC's notice lists 116 officers by roll number, from 10001 to 10156. The "Remarks" column says PASS for 88 and FAIL for 28. That is a pass rate of about 76 per cent.

The exam itself was held from 15 to 23 July 2026. So the result came out a little over three months after the last paper. The notice is signed by the PPSC Secretary and dated 4 November 2026.

PPSC's Written Results page lists the case as "Departmental Examination (DE) / Final Passing Out Examination (FPOE), 2025". The PDF itself is headed "Punjab Departmental Examination 2025".

The exam has 8 papers worth 800 marks

The result sheet prints the marks for each paper an officer sat. There are 8 papers. Civil and Criminal Law is the biggest, at 150 marks in two parts. Local Government System is the smallest, at 50 marks.

PaperMarks
Office Management100
Service Matters100
Public Administration100
Constitutional Structure of Pakistan100
Economics and Financial Management100
Civil and Criminal Law (Part A and B)150 (75 + 75)
Local Government System50
Revenue Law100

Each paper on the sheet is marked "(Pass)" or "(Fail)" under the score. Across all 116 officers, we counted 633 paper passes and 73 paper fails. Not every officer sat every paper. Some rows show marks for only a few papers, which suggests they had cleared the others in an earlier sitting.

Most officers on the list are PMS section officers

The notice gives each officer's service group and posting. We counted 104 mentions of PMS, 5 of PMS-13 and 6 of PAS. Most are section officers in Lahore departments. About 10 are assistant commissioners in districts such as Chiniot and Lahore Cantt.

That matters for readers because this is a career exam for people already in service. If you are a job seeker, this result is not about your application. For PPSC job results, see our report on the final recommendations of 2 November.

PPSC does not print the pass mark on the notice

The result sheet does not state the pass mark for each paper. It only marks each score as pass or fail. We will not guess a cut-off from the scores, because one paper is in two parts and the sheet does not say how the parts combine.

The departmental exam rules are set by the Punjab government, not by PPSC alone. If you failed a paper and want to know the exact pass rule, ask your department's administration wing or the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) for the current rules. Our guide to getting a PPSC detailed marks certificate explains how PPSC releases marks to candidates.

What to do if your name is on the list

The steps are short. Most officers only need to save the notice and tell their office.

  1. Open ppsc.gop.pk, go to Results, then Written Results.
  2. Find the row dated 04-11-2026 with Case No. 38C2025 and open the PDF.
  3. Search the PDF for your roll number. The notice runs to 15 pages.
  4. Check the Remarks column for PASS or FAIL, and the mark under each paper.
  5. Save a copy and send it to your department's establishment or administration section.

If you failed, note which papers say "(Fail)". On the rows we read, an officer who failed overall usually failed one or two papers, not all of them.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read PPSC's Written Results page and the Case No. 38C2025 PDF on ppsc.gop.pk on 5 November 2026. We counted the PASS and FAIL remarks and the paper results ourselves from the PDF.
