PSX Timings 2026: Pakistan Stock Exchange Trading Hours for Every Day and Market
PSX timings 2026: trading 9:32 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 9:17 am to 12 noon and 2:32 pm to 4:30 pm. Pre-open, post-close and every market.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) trades shares from 9:32 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, after a pre-open session from 9:15 am. On Friday it runs two sessions: 9:17 am to 12:00 noon, then 2:32 pm to 4:30 pm, with a break for Friday prayers.
Those are the times for the regular market, where most people buy and sell shares. The bond, odd lot, negotiated deal and square-up markets keep their own hours, and so do the order windows around the open and close. We read every time below on the PSX trading hours page on 28 October 2026. The market is shut on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.
PSX opens at 9:32 am and closes at 3:30 pm, Monday to Thursday
From Monday to Thursday the regular market has a pre-open session from 9:15 am to 9:30 am, a two minute order matching break, then continuous trading from 9:32 am to 3:30 pm. A post-close session runs from 3:35 pm to 3:50 pm, which is why the data portal stamps the day's close at 3:50 pm.

| Regular market, Monday to Thursday | Time (PKT) |
|---|---|
| Pre-open session | 9:15 am to 9:30 am |
| Order matching and confirmation break | 9:30 am to 9:32 am |
| Open, continuous trading | 9:32 am to 3:30 pm |
| Close | 3:30 pm |
| Post-close session | 3:35 pm to 3:50 pm |
| Trade rectification and modification | 3:50 pm to 4:30 pm |
Six hours of continuous trading is shorter than many people assume. If you plan to buy on your lunch break, you have until 3:30 pm, not 5 pm like a bank.
Friday has two sessions with a break for prayers
On Friday the regular market opens earlier. The first session has a pre-open from 9:00 am to 9:15 am and trades from 9:17 am to 12:00 noon. The second has a pre-open from 2:15 pm to 2:30 pm and trades from 2:32 pm to 4:30 pm, with a post-close session from 4:35 pm to 4:50 pm.
| Regular market, Friday | First session | Second session |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-open | 9:00 am to 9:15 am | 2:15 pm to 2:30 pm |
| Order matching break | 9:15 am to 9:17 am | 2:30 pm to 2:32 pm |
| Open | 9:17 am to 12:00 noon | 2:32 pm to 4:30 pm |
| Post-close | None | 4:35 pm to 4:50 pm |
| Trade rectification | None | 4:50 pm to 5:30 pm |
Between 12:00 noon and 2:30 pm the markets that follow the two-session pattern are closed. In total Friday gives about four hours and 41 minutes of regular trading, against five hours and 58 minutes on other weekdays.

Orders in the pre-open session cannot be cancelled
The pre-open session lets you place buy and sell orders before trading starts, and the exchange works out one opening price from them. PSX says orders entered during pre-open cannot be cancelled, changed or suspended until the end of the break that follows it, so check the price and quantity before you send.
The two minute break after pre-open is when the system matches those orders and confirms them. Nothing can be entered during that window. The same pattern repeats in the second Friday session.
After the 3:30 pm close, the post-close session lets you trade at the closing price for 15 minutes. It is useful if you missed the close but want that day's price.
Bonds, odd lots and negotiated deals keep their own hours
The other PSX markets trade on different clocks. From Monday to Thursday, bonds and sukuk trade from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, negotiated deals from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, and the odd lot market, which on PSX is now for ETFs only, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
| Market | Monday to Thursday | Friday |
|---|---|---|
| Corporate debt securities | 9:30 am to 3:30 pm | 9:15 am to 12:00 noon, 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm |
| Government debt securities | 9:30 am to 3:30 pm | 9:15 am to 12:00 noon |
| GoP Ijarah Sukuk | 9:30 am to 3:30 pm | 9:15 am to 12:00 noon, 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm |
| Negotiated deals market | 9:30 am to 4:30 pm | 9:15 am to 3:00 pm, 3:01 pm to 5:00 pm |
| Odd lots (ETFs only) | 9:30 am to 3:30 pm | 9:15 am to 12:00 noon, 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm |
| Square-up market, loaded | 9:30 am to 2:30 pm | 9:15 am to 3:30 pm |
If you hold ETF units in small quantities, the odd lot route for ETFs explains why that market matters. PSX also says Ijarah Sukuk issued through the exchange follow these hours.
PSX is closed on weekends and public holidays
The exchange does not trade on Saturday or Sunday. It also closes on public holidays, and the next one in 2026 is Iqbal Day on Monday 9 November. Ramadan brings separate timings, which PSX announces each year; the page we read shows the normal schedule.
The full list for the rest of the year is in the PSX holidays for 2026. A market can also stop mid-day if an index moves too far, under the PSX circuit breaker rules.
How to trade inside PSX hours
You trade through a licensed broker's app, website or phone desk, not with PSX directly. Whether a broker will hold an order placed at night for the next pre-open depends on the broker, so ask yours. These steps help you buy at the time and price you want.
- Open an account with a licensed broker, such as a Sahulat account with your CNIC.
- Place orders for the open between 9:15 am and 9:30 am, or 9:00 am and 9:15 am on Friday.
- Check each pre-open order carefully, because you cannot cancel it until 9:32 am.
- Trade during continuous hours until 3:30 pm, or 12:00 noon and 4:30 pm on Friday.
- Use the post-close session to trade at the closing price within the next 15 minutes.
A PSX Sahulat account needs only a CNIC and is enough for most first-time investors. To see how a day ended, the KSE-100 close on 27 October shows what the portal reports after 3:50 pm.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read the PSX trading hours page on 28 October 2026, ignoring an old Ramadan notice left hidden in the page code, and the PSX data portal, whose closing time stamps match the 3:50 pm post-close end. The Friday trading time is our arithmetic. We did not test a broker app, and we could not find this year's Ramadan timings, which PSX issues closer to the month.
