Punjab Youth Games 2026 Registration Stays Open Until 30 September

Registration for the CM Punjab Youth Games 2026 is still open. The official portal, youthgames.punjab.gov.pk, now shows the registration phase running from 15 to 30 September 2026. Students register online through their school, college, university, madrassa or special education institution, and the games carry Rs 500 million in cash prizes.

The extension to 30 September was first reported, not announced in a notice we could find. We checked both official sources on 27 September 2026. The registration portal lists 30 September as the end of phase one. The Sports Board Punjab page for the games still says the last date is 25 September 2026. The portal's registration form was working when we opened it.

Punjab Youth Games registration closes on 30 September

The portal's schedule puts registration at 15 to 30 September 2026, a 16 day phase. The Sports Board Punjab page still shows 25 September. We found no formal extension notice, so register now rather than on 30 September.

The portal counter showed 422,728 registrations when we checked. The organisers expect more than 10 million, from about 62,000 institutions. That gap explains why the window was stretched: most students have not signed up yet.

Lahore leads with about 54,900 entries on the portal's district map. Khanewal, Layyah, Rahim Yar Khan and Muzaffargarh follow. Athletics is the most popular sport by far, with about 151,000 entries, then hard ball cricket and badminton.

Age limits for each Punjab Youth Games bracket

There are five brackets, and your age is counted on 31 December 2026. Middle school players must be 10 to 15, secondary 13 to 17, college 13 to 21, university 17 to 50, and special persons 15 to 35.

The form checks your date of birth against these ranges and rejects anything outside them. Enter it exactly as it appears on your NADRA B-Form or CNIC, because that number is also on the form.

Sports on offer at the Punjab Youth Games

The portal lists more than 20 sports, from athletics and cricket to e-sports, padel tennis and rowing. Your bracket decides which ones you can pick. Kabaddi, wrestling and football are boys only in the higher brackets.

• Middle schools: athletics and tape ball cricket.
• Secondary schools: athletics, badminton, hard ball cricket, kabaddi (boys), football and tug of war.
• Colleges: athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, cricket, football, hockey, kabaddi, karate, volleyball, table tennis, taekwondo, tug of war and wrestling (boys).
• Universities: the college list plus e-sports, fencing, padel tennis, rifle shooting, rowing, handball and squash.
• Special persons: tape ball cricket, cricket for the visually impaired, badminton, 100m and relay, tug of war, standing board jump, wheelchair race and futsal.

The Sports Board page gives a slightly different list of 19 sports, including swimming and cycling. The portal's sports menu is what you actually choose from, so trust that one.

How to register on youthgames.punjab.gov.pk

Open the portal, pick your bracket and institution, fill in your personal details with your B-Form or CNIC number, choose your sport and kit size, upload a photo, and submit. The form has no payment step.

1. Go to youthgames.punjab.gov.pk and press "Register Now".
2. Choose your category and sub category, then type at least five letters of your institute's name and pick it from the list. You can enter it by hand if it is missing.
3. Enter your full name, father's name, B-Form or CNIC, gender, date of birth, division, district, tehsil, union council and phone number.
4. Pick your sport, kit size and joggers size.
5. Upload a PNG or JPG photo of 256 KB or less, solve the sum, agree to the disclaimer and submit.

A photo over 256 KB is the most likely thing to stop you. Resize it on your phone first. The Sports Board page also says participants register through their eligible institutions, so tell your sports teacher once you have signed up.

Punjab Youth Games dates from trials to the final

After registration, trials run at institutions from 7 to 13 October 2026. Schools then play union council, tehsil, district and division rounds in October and November. The provincial finals run from 1 to 5 December 2026.

The total prize pool is Rs 500 million. Neither official page splits it by sport, position or level yet, so be careful with any per-winner figure you see forwarded.

The portal also has a grievance form. If your tehsil or district officer marks you unfairly at trials, you can file a complaint there, with your name, phone, district and tehsil.

Punjab's push comes in a busy sports year. The Asian Games medal count and the hockey team's results show how thin the national talent pool still is, and the games are pitched as a way to find new athletes early.

What is the last date for Punjab Youth Games registration?

The portal's schedule shows 30 September 2026. The Sports Board Punjab page still says 25 September 2026, so register as soon as you can.

Is there a fee to register for the Punjab Youth Games?

No fee is mentioned on either official page, and the form asks for no payment.

Can university students take part?

Yes. Students of public and private universities, including medical and engineering universities, aged 17 to 50 can register.

Can madrassa students register?

Yes. Deeni madaris are eligible, in the secondary bracket for under 17 and the college bracket above 17.

What if my school is not in the list?

Use the "enter manually" option on the form and type your institute's name yourself.
