The Punjab Job Portal is jobs.punjab.gov.pk, run by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). You register with an email address and a password, activate the account from the link sent to your email, complete your profile, then apply to each job with one click. On 2 October 2026 it listed 21 open jobs, all on contract, closing between 6 and 20 October.

Many Punjab departments, projects and companies post contract jobs here instead of in newspapers. The catch is the profile. If yours is incomplete, the portal blocks your application with a "profile does not match" message, often a day before the deadline. We read the portal's FAQ and every open job on 2 October 2026.

Punjab Job Portal jobs open now

The portal showed 21 open jobs on 2 October 2026 from six employers. Every one was a contract post. The earliest close on 6 October at a Lahore fish hatchery, and the latest on 20 October at the Punjab Grid Company. Each job page lists its age range, level and last date.

Some of these need very little schooling. The Driver post asks for Middle pass, a valid LTV licence and three years' experience. The Planning and Development Board's Receptionist post takes ages 22 to 45. Read the full job page, because the list view only shows the title, employer and date.

How to register on the Punjab Job Portal

Registration takes an email address, a password and a captcha. The portal then emails you an activation link. Nothing works until you click that link, so use an email inbox you can open on your phone, and check the spam folder if it does not arrive within a few minutes.

  1. Open jobs.punjab.gov.pk and click Register at the top right.
  2. Enter a valid email address, set a password and type the captcha.
  3. Click Register, then open the activation link sent to your email.
  4. Log in with that email and password.
  5. Open Profile Builder and fill in every tab before you apply for anything.
Steps to register on the Punjab Job Portal: email, password and captcha, activation link, then Profile Builder

Profile Builder decides whether you can apply

The portal checks your profile against each job before it lets you apply. Profile Builder has nine tabs: Personal Information, Experience, Academics, Skills, Trainings, Certifications, Research Work, Target Job and References. An empty or outdated tab can block an application you are qualified for.

Personal Information asks for your CNIC and its expiry date along with your name and contact details. Academics is where most blocks start. A job that asks for "Masters/Bachelors (Hons) (16 years)" in computer science will not accept a profile that lists only an Intermediate, however long your experience. Add every degree with its correct level and subject.

Your photo can be up to 4 MB. You add each item with the Add button, then Save and Continue. To change an item later, use the update icon in that tab.

If you do not have a CV ready, it helps to make a CV first and copy from it, since the tabs ask for the same dates and details.

How to apply for a job on the portal

Log in, open the job, and press Apply. The portal asks for your current salary, your expected salary and any disability, then you submit. A green pop up confirms it, and you also get an email and a text message. You can apply for each job only once.

  • Read the job page first. Check the district, age range, level and degree before you press Apply.
  • Check twice before submitting. The FAQ says a submitted application cannot be updated.
  • "Your Profile does not match" means you are not eligible, or your profile is incomplete or out of date. Fix the profile, then try again before the last date.
  • Applied Jobs in your account lists every job you applied for, with the date.

The portal's FAQ does not describe any fee step, and none of the 21 job pages we read mentioned a fee.

Domicile and other papers employers ask for

Every job page we read carried the same note: domicile is required for the position. The portal points you to the Punjab government's Dastak service on 1202 to get a domicile at home. Have it ready before the interview, along with your CNIC and degrees.

You can apply for a domicile certificate online, and Punjab's doorstep service is covered in the Dastak app. Each job page also has a "View Advertisement" link. Open it, because the advertisement can list documents and conditions that the short job page leaves out.

Punjab Job Portal compared with PPSC: who posts jobs, type of post, fee and how to apply

Punjab Job Portal is not PPSC

The Punjab Job Portal and the Punjab Public Service Commission are different routes. All 21 jobs on the portal on 2 October were contract posts for departments, projects and companies. Regular government posts that PPSC advertises are applied for on ppsc.gop.pk, with a fee paid by PSID.

So if you want a permanent BPS post, follow PPSC's adverts, and the PPSC application and roll number slip steps are different from these. If you are looking across provinces, government jobs online start on each commission's own site.

What happens after you apply

Hiring usually starts after the job's last date. The portal's FAQ says that if you are shortlisted, you will be contacted within one month of the closing date. You get an email and a text message at each stage: applied, shortlisted, interview, selected or not.

No message a month after the deadline usually means you were not shortlisted. For a problem with the portal itself, email jobsonlinesupport@punjab.gov.pk. The portal also lists 042 99000000, extension 1222.

The portal's FAQ describes no fee step, and none of the 21 open jobs we read on 2 October 2026 mentioned one.

Why does the portal say my profile does not match the job?

No. The FAQ says you can apply for a job only once, and a submitted application cannot be updated.

How will I know if I am shortlisted?

By email and text message. The FAQ says shortlisted candidates are contacted within one month of the closing date.

Do I need a Punjab domicile to apply?

Every job page we read on 2 October 2026 said domicile is required for the position.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 2 October 2026. We read the Punjab Job Portal FAQ, which covers registration, Profile Builder, applying, notifications and the support email, and the list of open jobs, then opened each job page for its positions, level, age range, district and last date. We did not register an account, so the profile and apply screens are described from the portal's FAQ and its registration form. The Punjab Transport Company posts did not state an age range or level on their job pages.
