Report Uncollected Garbage in Karachi to SSWMB: Phone, WhatsApp and App
Report uncollected garbage in Karachi to SSWMB on 021-99333702, WhatsApp 0318-1030851 or its app. What to include, district officers, and how to escalate.

To report uncollected garbage in Karachi, call the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) complaint line on 021-99333702 or send a WhatsApp message to 0318-1030851. You can also use the SSWMB Complaints Karachi app on Android, or the complaint form on sswmb.gos.pk.
A heap that sits on the corner for four days does not fix itself. In Karachi the body that answers for it is the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, not your union council and not KWSC. Calling the wrong office only wastes days.
We read SSWMB's website on 3 October 2026, including its contact page, its officer list and the listing for its complaint app. The numbers below are the ones SSWMB itself publishes.

SSWMB collects garbage in Karachi and other Sindh divisions
The Sindh Solid Waste Management Board runs garbage collection and disposal in Karachi, mostly through contractors. It was created by a Sindh law in 2014 and amended in 2021 to set up divisional boards at Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad and Larkana.
SSWMB describes its job as an efficient, modern garbage collection and disposal system run by outsourcing municipal work. In practice that means a contractor clears your street, and SSWMB is the body that holds the contractor to account.

So your complaint goes to SSWMB, even if the truck you see belongs to a private company. Its head office is on the 3rd floor of the DMC South building, opposite Aram Bagh police station, near Haqqani Chowk in Karachi.
Four ways to file a garbage complaint
SSWMB lists a complaint phone line, 021-99333702, and a WhatsApp number, 0318-1030851. It also has an Android app called SSWMB Complaints Karachi and a "Register Complaint" form on its website. Pick whichever you can use with a photo.
| Channel | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Complaint line | Call 021-99333702 |
| Message 0318-1030851 with a photo and location | |
| Android app | SSWMB Complaints Karachi on Google Play |
| Website form | Register Complaint box on sswmb.gos.pk |
| Head office | 021-99333710 to 13, info@sswmb.gos.pk |
WhatsApp is our pick for most people. You can send a photo and a pinned location in one go, and you keep a record on your own phone. A phone call leaves you with nothing to show later unless you write down the time and the name of the person who answered.
The app's store listing says SSWMB started it so people can lodge complaints. We did not install it or file a test complaint, because a false report sends a crew to a street that does not need one.
What to put in the complaint
Give the exact spot, the town and union council, a nearby landmark, how many days the garbage has been there, and a clear photo. A complaint that a crew can find without calling you back gets cleared faster than one that says "near my house".
- Stand where you can see the heap and note the street, block and nearest mosque, school or shop.
- Take two photos: one close, one wide enough to show the landmark.
- Drop a location pin if you are using WhatsApp.
- Write one short message. For example: "Garbage not lifted for 4 days at corner of Street 5, Block 13, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, opposite the mosque."
- Save the reply. Note any complaint number, the date and the time.
Keep it to one heap per complaint. Three locations in one message makes it easy to clear one and close the lot.

District officers to call if nothing moves
SSWMB publishes a list of district and zone officers with mobile numbers for East, South, Malir, West, Keamari, Korangi and Central in Karachi, plus Hyderabad, Larkana and Sukkur. It is linked on every page of sswmb.gos.pk as "District Area wise Contact number of SSWMB Officers".
The list names zones too, such as Gulshan, Jamshed, Lyari, Saddar, Orangi, Surjani, Shah Faisal, Gulberg and North Nazimabad. Find your zone and call its assistant director with your complaint number.
One warning. The image file is from February 2024, judging by its upload folder. Officers move, so a number may no longer reach the right person. Start with the main complaint line and use the district list as the second step.
Lahore and the rest of Punjab use a different system. There, people report missed garbage to Suthra Punjab on 1139.
Escalate a garbage complaint that is ignored
If SSWMB and the district officer do not act, file on the Pakistan Citizen's Portal with your complaint number, dates and photos. The Provincial Ombudsman Sindh also takes complaints about Sindh government agencies, and it is free.
Use the Pakistan Citizen's Portal first, because it routes the complaint to the department and keeps a public record of the reply. Attach the photos with the dates showing. If the portal marks it resolved while the heap is still there, it can be reopened.
Some street problems belong to other bodies. An open drain or a missing manhole lid is KWSC's job, and you can report an open manhole on 1334.
