Rescue 1122 Punjab hires only through a public advertisement, and on 30 September 2026 its official website listed no open intake. When posts open, you apply on the prescribed form, sit a written test run by an outside testing service, then pass a physical test of 25 sit-ups and 25 push-ups a minute and a one-mile run in 8 minutes.
Rescue 1122 is the Punjab Emergency Service, set up under the Punjab Emergency Service Act 2006 and run by the Emergency Services Department in Lahore. It hires Emergency Medical Technicians, Fire Rescuers, drivers, control room staff and office posts across the province's districts.
We read the service's recruitment policy, its jobs FAQ, its news page and its academy page on 30 September 2026. None of them carries a current advertisement. Job sites are circulating a large Punjab intake with two different last dates, and we could not confirm either one on an official page. That gap is exactly where job scams live.
No Rescue 1122 Punjab intake is listed on the official site
On 30 September 2026, rescue.gov.pk had no job advertisement, no application form and no last date. Its jobs menu holds only the recruitment policy and an FAQ. Any "apply now" link you see elsewhere needs checking against a newspaper advertisement from the department itself.
The policy says every vacant post sanctioned by the Punjab Finance Department is advertised in at least two national newspapers, one Urdu and one English. So the newspaper advertisement is the document that counts. It names the posts, the districts, the qualifications, the age limits, the fee and the testing service.
Unofficial job sites describe an intake for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Fire Rescuer and Rescue Driver posts in 31 districts. They give one last date in March 2026 and another in August 2026. Neither appears on rescue.gov.pk, and the testing service's site blocked our reader. Treat those details as reported, not confirmed.
How Rescue 1122 recruitment works, stage by stage
Recruitment runs in a fixed order: advertisement, application form, scrutiny, written test, physical and medical screening, a skill test for technical posts, a psychological test, an interview and then training. Failing any stage ends your application for that intake.
- Advertisement in at least two national newspapers.
- Application on the prescribed form only. Forms from candidates who miss the criteria are not accepted.
- Scrutiny and shortlisting. If too many apply, the advertisement's higher criteria are used to shortlist.
- Written test, now outsourced to the Pakistan Testing Service (PTS). You need 50 per cent to go further.
- Physical fitness and medical screening, described below.
- Skill test for technical posts, again with a 50 per cent pass mark.
- Psychological test to assess suitability.
- Interview by a provincial selection committee with members from other departments.
- Training at the Emergency Services Academy or in the field, then police and document verification.
The skill test covers posts such as Control Room Incharge, Wireless Technician, Computer Telephone Wireless Operator, Office Computer Operator, Specialised Vehicle Operator, Auto Electrician, Office Clerk, Cook and Driver. Emergency medical and fire posts are judged mainly on the written, physical and psychological stages.
Rescue 1122 physical test and medical standards
The physical test asks for 25 sit-ups and 25 push-ups in a minute each, and a one-mile run in 8 minutes. Women and male officer candidates above 35 get 12 minutes for the mile. Obesity, weak eyesight and some infections rule a candidate out.

Start training now if you plan to apply. A one-mile run in 8 minutes is not hard for a fit young person, but 25 proper push-ups in a minute catches out many office workers. The policy's wording on screening is blunt: weak eyesight, a BMI of 30 or above and those infections can end an application at any stage.
Height is a preference, not a cut-off, in the policy text. Chest size is a minimum. The advertisement for a given intake may set its own figures, and the advertisement wins where the two differ.
Rescue 1122 training and what the job involves
Selected candidates train before they are posted. The Emergency Services Academy in Lahore mainly runs a six-month Basic Rescue Course covering emergency medical care, rescue, fire fighting and physical fitness. Your appointment also depends on police verification of your background and documents.
The work is shift duty at district rescue stations: road crashes, medical emergencies, fires, building collapses and drowning. The service's own Eid 2025 figures show the load, with 30,825 emergencies handled across Punjab during the holidays, including 7,250 road crashes. The range of work Rescue 1122 does is wider than ambulances alone.
Rescue 1122 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a separate service with its own hiring. Its tests usually run through ETEA, and the ETEA registration and result process applies there, not the Punjab one.
Rescue 1122 jobs cannot be bought, and scams are common
Rescue 1122's own FAQ says there is no direct recruitment and no officer can hire anyone outside the process. It warns against "cheaters or dodgers" offering help. Anyone asking for money to secure a Rescue 1122 job is lying to you.
Watch for these signs:
- A WhatsApp or Facebook message with a form link and no newspaper advertisement behind it.
- A fee paid into a personal mobile wallet instead of a testing service's bank deposit slip or PSID.
- A promise of selection without the written and physical tests.
- An "agent" who says he knows someone at the headquarters in Lahore.
Complaints about recruitment go to the testing service at info@pts.org.pk and to Rescue 1122 at PRO@rescue.gov.pk, according to the service's recruitment policy. For other posts in the province, government jobs online covers the main portals, and Punjab Police constable jobs use a similar physical test.
