Short answer: The Multan Metrobus runs from 6:15 am to 10:00 pm, and the Punjab Masstransit Authority lists the fare as Rs 25 a trip. The line is 18.5 km long, from Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) to Chowk Kumharan, with 21 stations. The Multan helpline is (061) 111-222-627.

Multan summers are hard on anyone who waits at a roadside. A bus that comes every few minutes, with air conditioning and a platform you can step straight onto, changes the day.

We read the Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA) pages on the Multan Metrobus, its fare policy, its operating hours and its FAQ on 14 October 2026. We did not ride the line for this guide, so we have not timed a trip.

The line runs 18.5 km with 21 stations

The Multan Metrobus is a bus rapid transit line, which means buses run on their own lane. It goes from Bahauddin Zakariya University to Chowk Kumharan, a distance of 18.5 km. The PMA says it has 21 stations: 7 at ground level and 14 elevated.

The Multan Metrobus in numbers: 18.5 km, 21 stations, 35 air conditioned buses

Two stretches are on elevated track, about 12.5 km in all. One is from Northern Bypass to BCG Chowk. The other is from Vehari Chowk to Jinnah Park. The rest runs at ground level, with passing lanes at stations.

Each station has platform sliding doors, and the authority lists elevators and escalators too. The buses are articulated, which means two joined sections, and the PMA says there are 35 of them, all air conditioned. The system was inaugurated on 24 January 2017.

The fare is Rs 25 a trip

The PMA fare policy lists Rs 25 for one trip on the Multan Metrobus. Lahore and Rawalpindi cost Rs 30 a trip. You must leave the system within one hour and 15 minutes of tapping in at the gate, or an extra fare can be charged.

Multan Metrobus fare of Rs 25 a trip

Infants ride free, according to the authority's FAQ. The pages we read do not list a student or senior discount for Multan, so do not assume one. Ask at the station if you think you qualify.

You can compare this with the other cities in the Metro Bus fares and timings guide.

Buses run from 6:15 am to 10:00 pm

The PMA lists the Multan line as open from 6:15 am to 10:00 pm, with a bus every 3 to 5 minutes. Lahore's Metrobus starts at 6:00 am, so Multan opens 15 minutes later. These are scheduled hours, not a promise for each day.

Plan to be at the station a few minutes before your last bus. We have not seen a published rule for what happens if you miss the final one, so do not leave it to chance.

Pay with a T-Cash card, a QR code or the app

Every passenger needs a valid fare medium. The PMA lists three: the T-Cash card, a QR code, or the eTransit mobile app. Pick the one that suits how often you ride, and sort it out before you reach the gate.

Four steps to ride the Multan Metrobus: get a fare medium, tap in, board and exit in time
  1. Get a T-Cash card, a QR code or the eTransit app. The cost and steps for the card are in how to get a T-Cash card in Punjab.
  2. Tap your card or code at the station turnstile.
  3. Board from the level platform when the doors open.
  4. Tap out and leave the system within one hour and 15 minutes.

A card is the best choice for daily riders, because you top it up once and tap each time. A QR code suits a visitor who rides once.

Call the helpline or complain online if something goes wrong

For a problem on the Multan line, call (061) 111-222-627. If a gate will not read your card, the authority says to ask station staff or call 1762. The PMA home page also links a complaint portal for formal complaints.

Parking is a separate matter. The PMA FAQ says parking at stations is not in its scope, and tells riders to contact the City District Government. So do not count on a free car park next to your station.

We could not read the station list or route map, so check the names and order in the PMA route maps before you plan a trip. The authority's pages also did not show feeder routes for Multan, so do not plan around one.
