A small abacus on a dark wooden table, for a story on Sahibzada Farhan's runs in the Pakistan and Sri Lanka T20I series

Short answer: Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan was named player of the series after the Sri Lanka T20Is that ended on 13 October 2026. He scored 238 runs in three innings: 89, 73 and 76. That is 238 runs off 144 balls, a strike rate of 165.3, with 21 fours and 12 sixes.

Farhan ended the series with the most runs on either side that we could see. The sums below are ours. We added his three scores from match reports and from the full scorecard of the 3rd match, which we read on 14 October 2026.

The PCB's own scorecard pages sat behind a bot check, so we could not read an official series table. We saw no other batter with a total close to 238. We have not seen a full series table, so treat that as our reading.

Farhan scored 238 runs at a strike rate of 165

Farhan made 89 off 53 balls in the 1st T20I, 73 off 44 in the 2nd, and 76 off 47 in the 3rd. His total is 238 runs off 144 balls. Divide 238 by 144 and multiply by 100 and you get 165.3 runs per 100 balls.

A strike rate is the number of runs a batter scores per 100 balls faced. In T20 cricket, a rate above 150 is considered quick. Farhan was above 160 across the whole series, and he did it while captaining the side for the first time at home.

Boundaries gave him 156 of his 238 runs

Farhan hit 21 fours and 12 sixes. Fours are worth 84 runs and sixes 72, so boundaries gave him 156 of his 238 runs. That is about 66 percent. The other 82 runs came from singles, twos and threes.

That mix is healthy for a T20 opener. He did not rely only on big hits. In the 3rd match he scored 76 while his side lost wickets around him, and he added 66 for the seventh wicket with Arafat Minhas in 6.1 overs.

The way he got out in the last game was typical of the series. He tried to hit a slot ball over the top in the last over and was caught for 76, as the scorecard puts it. By then Pakistan were 168 for 7.

Farhan scored 70 plus in each of the three T20Is

Maaz Sadaqat made 146 but was out for a duck in the last game

Maaz Sadaqat scored 50 off 29 and 96 off 51 in the first two games, then was out for 0 off 3 balls in the third. His series total is 146 runs off 83 balls, a strike rate of 175.9, higher than Farhan's.

Together the two men made 384 of Pakistan's runs across the series, by our sum. The earlier report on the two batters, after two matches, Farhan and Maaz Sadaqat made 308 runs, showed how much of the innings depended on them. The third game showed the other side of that. When both fell early, Pakistan were 34 for 2.

  1. Pakistan won the first game by 4 wickets while chasing.
  2. Pakistan won the second by 82 runs after batting first.
  3. Pakistan lost the third by 8 wickets after batting first.
  4. Pakistan won the series 2-1, and Farhan was named player of the series.

Sri Lanka found answers only in the last game

Sri Lanka's best batting came in the 1st match, where Lahiru Udara made 91, and in the 3rd, where Kusal Mendis made 87 not out. Dasun Shanaka took 3 for 21 in the last game. The full story of the last game is in our report on the 3rd T20I.

On the Pakistan side, the bowling had its own good moments. We reported Muhammad Imran Randhawa's 3 for 11 in the 2nd match. In the 3rd match Mohammad Imran took 1 for 31 and Arafat Minhas 1 for 26.

Pakistan named the T20I squad earlier in October. See the Pakistan T20I squad for Sri Lanka for the names.

The ODI tri-series starts on 18 October

The T20 form does not carry over automatically. The next games are 50-over matches, starting with Pakistan v Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi on Sunday 18 October. T20 form is a hint, not a promise, because ODI selection and the rules are different.

The fixtures and format are on the page for the Pakistan ODI tri-series. We also have a look at where Pakistan's 50-over players stand in the ICC list, in Pakistan's ODI players in the ICC rankings.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 14 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the full scorecard of the 3rd T20I, including the match details panel that names the player of the series, on a public cricket scorecard service. Farhan's first two scores come from our own earlier match reports. The PCB's website at pcb.com.pk was behind a bot check, so we did not compare an official series table. All totals, strike rates and percentages are our own arithmetic.
