To cancel a StormFiber connection, email billing@stormfiber.com with your account details and the reason for leaving, clear any unpaid bill, then return the ONT and any rented router to a StormFiber office within 7 days of the termination confirmation. Money already paid, including advance payments, is not refunded under StormFiber's terms, so time the request near the end of a paid month.

People cancel for ordinary reasons: a house move, a cheaper offer, a line that keeps failing. The trap is assuming that simply not paying ends the contract. It does not end it cleanly. We read StormFiber's terms and conditions and its billing page on 1 November 2026, and the steps below follow what those pages say.

StormFiber cancellation is done by email to the billing team

StormFiber's terms say a user may end the service at any time by sending a request to billing@stormfiber.com along with the reasons for termination. There is no cancel button in the published steps, and the helpline is not named as the way to terminate.

Send the email from the address registered on the account if you can. Put the registered mobile number, the account holder's name and the service address in the first lines. Ask for a written confirmation of the termination date. That confirmation starts the 7 day clock for returning the equipment.

  1. Check the portal at my.stormfiber.com for any unpaid amount and pay it.
  2. Email billing@stormfiber.com with your registered mobile number, name and address.
  3. State that you want to terminate the connection, give the reason and the date you want it to end.
  4. Wait for StormFiber's confirmation and save it.
  5. Return the ONT, router and any TV box to a StormFiber office within 7 days and ask for a receipt.
Steps to cancel a StormFiber connection by email and return the ONT

The ONT and router belong to StormFiber and must go back

Under the terms, the ONT, modem, router and other equipment stay StormFiber's property at all times. After termination is confirmed, you must return them to a StormFiber office within 7 days. Loss or damage is charged to the user.

The terms define equipment widely. It covers the ONT (the small box the fibre plugs into), any modem, any router StormFiber rented to you or asked you to return, and HD TV boxes. If something was lost or stolen earlier, StormFiber asks for a report on its hotline and a written notice of loss within 24 hours of discovery. You stay liable for use of the service for 24 hours after it receives that notice.

Keep the box, the power adapter and the cables together. A receipt from the office is your proof if a later bill claims the device was never returned.

What StormFiber will and will not refund

StormFiber's terms say payments made to it are non-refundable. That covers monthly bills and advance payments. The one refund the terms promise is for a new connection that cannot be installed in your area: the full amount, within 30 working days of the refund request.

SituationWhat the terms say
Normal monthly bill already paidNon-refundable
Advance payment for 3, 6 or 12 monthsCovered by the same non-refundable rule
Area not covered after you paid for a new connectionFull refund within 30 working days of your request
Unpaid bills when service endsBecome due immediately
Service unused without a suspension noticeNo adjustment or reversal

The advance payment row matters. StormFiber's billing page offers 5 per cent off for paying 3 months ahead, 7 per cent for 6 months and 10 per cent for 12 months. Those discounts are real, but if you might move house within the year, the saving can turn into a loss, because the terms give no refund for the unused months.

What StormFiber refunds and does not refund when you cancel

Pause the service instead if you are away for a while

If you will be away for a few months and plan to come back, ask for a temporary suspension. The terms say you must clear all outstanding dues and email the exact suspension period to billing@stormfiber.com. Without that notice, StormFiber makes no adjustment for months you did not use.

This suits a family going abroad for a summer, or a student flat left empty between terms. A suspension keeps the account and the equipment with you. A termination ends the account and means a new connection, with fresh installation charges, if you want StormFiber again later.

Stopping payment leads to suspension, then termination

StormFiber can suspend a connection with unpaid arrears. If an account stays suspended for 30 days without a temporary suspension notice from you, the terms say it is terminated without further notice, and the equipment must be returned within 7 days.

So walking away without telling anyone does end the service. But the unpaid bills stay due, StormFiber can send supplementary bills for charges it finds later, and the equipment is still its property. Ending it properly by email is cleaner and leaves you a paper trail.

Changing to a slower, cheaper plan is a different route if price is the only problem. The terms allow upgrades at any time, with a prorated invoice, but downgrades take effect only from the 1st of a month, and no change is allowed during a promotion period. The current plans are in StormFiber packages and prices.

If the cancellation is ignored, complain in writing

If StormFiber keeps billing after you sent a termination request, reply to the same email thread with the date of your request and ask for the bills to be reversed. If that fails, take it to PTA with copies of your emails and the equipment receipt.

Your rights under the regulator's standard contract for internet users are set out in home internet contract rights, and the complaint process is in the PTA telecom complaint guide. Before switching, the price list in cheapest home internet packages shows what other companies charge.

Can I cancel StormFiber by calling the helpline?

The terms name email to billing@stormfiber.com as the way to terminate. The helpline can answer questions, but get the request in writing.

What happens if I just stop paying StormFiber?

Can I pause StormFiber instead of cancelling?

Yes. Clear your dues and email the exact suspension period to billing@stormfiber.com.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 1 November 2026. We read StormFiber's terms and conditions (sections 3, 4, 6, 10 and 19) and its billing and support page at stormfiber.com on 1 November 2026. We did not cancel a connection, so we could not confirm how long StormFiber takes to reply to a termination email or whether any office charges for a late return. The terms can change without notice, so read them again before you send your request.
