Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2026 Schedule: Pakistan Hockey Matches in Pakistan Time, From Canada on 20 November

Pakistan open the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2026 against Canada on Friday 20 November at 2:15 pm Pakistan time, in Ipoh, Malaysia. Pakistan play five group matches in seven days, against Canada, the United States, Australia, Korea and hosts Malaysia. The last day of the tournament, with three classification matches, is Saturday 28 November.

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) lists the event on its website with all 18 matches and their times. That confirms Pakistan's place, which until now rested on a reported statement from the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF). Below are Pakistan's fixtures in PKT, the full schedule, the six teams, and what is still not published.

Pakistan's five group matches in Pakistan time

Pakistan play Canada on 20 November at 2:15 pm, the United States on 21 November at 12:00 noon, Australia on 23 November at 2:15 pm, Korea on 24 November at 12:00 noon and Malaysia on 26 November at 4:30 pm, all in Pakistan time.

All matches are at the Sultan Azlan Shah Stadium in Ipoh, Perak. We read the fixtures on the FIH event page and its match feed on 6 November 2026. The FIH feed gives each start in Pakistan time as well as Malaysian time, and the two agree with a three hour gap.

Six teams play in Ipoh from 20 to 28 November

Six men's teams take part: Australia, Canada, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan and the United States. The FIH calls it the 32nd Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and lists it as an FIH approved invitational tournament, played from 20 to 28 November 2026.

Each team plays the other five once in a single round robin, which makes 15 matches. Then there are three classification matches on 28 November. The FIH feed labels all three "Classification" and does not yet say which one is the final.

• Venue: Sultan Azlan Shah Stadium, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia
• Dates: 20 to 28 November 2026
• Teams: Australia, Canada, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, United States
• Matches: 15 in the round robin, 3 on the last day

Australia is the strongest name in the field on paper. Pakistan sat 12th in the FIH men's world ranking when we last checked, as set out in our page on Pakistan's FIH hockey ranking.

The full schedule in Pakistan time

There are three matches a day on six match days, at 12:00 noon, 2:15 pm and 4:30 pm PKT. The rest days are 22, 25 and 27 November. The last day starts at 12:00 noon, with games at 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm after it.

On Saturday 28 November the three classification matches start at 12:00 noon, 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm PKT. The teams for those games depend on the round robin table.

Pakistan's squad has not been published yet

The FIH squad list for Pakistan at this event was empty when we checked on 6 November 2026. The PHF had not posted a squad on any page we could open. So there is no confirmed list of players, captain or coach for Ipoh yet.

There is also a date clash to watch. The Foreign Office has said Islamabad will host an SCO Hockey Tournament from 20 November to 2 December, the same days as the Azlan Shah Cup. Our page on the SCO hockey tournament in Islamabad sets out what is known.

No official page we read says how the PHF will field teams in both, if it does. We will add the squad here once the FIH or the PHF publishes it.

How to follow Pakistan's matches

The FIH event page carries the live scores and results for this tournament. No broadcaster for Pakistan has been announced on the pages we read. These steps get you the times and scores without guessing.

1. Open fih.hockey and go to Events, then the 32nd Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2026.
2. Open Schedule, Fixtures and Results.
3. Switch the time setting to "Your Time" so the page shows Pakistan time.
4. Filter by team and choose Pakistan to see only its five matches.
5. Check the Standings tab after 26 November to see who plays on the last day.

Malaysia is three hours ahead of Pakistan, so take three hours off any Malaysian time. A 5:15 pm start in Ipoh is 2:15 pm in Lahore or Karachi.

What the official listing settles

Our report of 19 October on Pakistan accepting the Azlan Shah invitation rested on a PHF statement as reported, with no dates or venue. The FIH listing now gives both, plus every opponent and start time.

It also shows Canada as Pakistan's first opponent. Canada is the side the PHF says will visit Islamabad for a series in February 2027, which the FIH pages we read do not list. Pakistan are not in the 2026-27 FIH Pro League, so tournaments like this are the main senior matches on the calendar. Rule changes that apply from this season are in our page on the FIH Rules of Hockey 2027.
