Zong Balance Save Code: Stop Data Eating Your Balance, Plus Every Other Deduction (2026 List)
Dial Zong's free balance save code to stop data charges from main balance. The Rs 4 per MB rate it blocks, the deductions it misses, and how to check it works.

The Zong balance save code is *4004#. Dial it once and Zong lets internet run only from your bundles, so data no longer eats your main balance when a package ends. Zong lists the service as free. It does not stop every deduction, though, so below are the other charges that drain a Zong balance, their stop codes, and how to check the fix worked.
The pattern is familiar. You load Rs 200 in the evening and by morning it is Rs 140, with no calls made. On Zong the usual cause is data charged at the default rate after a bundle runs out. We read Zong's balance save page, FAQ and VAS pages on 24 October 2026.
Dial *4004# to stop data charges from your main balance
Zong's Balance Save Offer page says the service is free, has one time validity and allows internet use from bundles only. You subscribe by dialling *4004#. After that, data should come from a bundle or not at all.
Zong's page lists no separate code to turn it off and no condition beyond subscribing. If you later want pay as you go data again, call the helpline on 310 and ask. We did not dial the code ourselves, so read the reply message on your phone carefully.

Data without a bundle costs Rs 4 per MB on Zong
Zong's FAQ says a number with no data bundle pays a default rate of Rs 4 plus tax per MB. That is why a phone left on mobile data burns balance so fast. One app update can cost more than a weekly bundle.
The FAQ adds a softer rate. If your bundle volume is used up before it expires and you do not buy an add on, Zong charges Rs 1 per MB until the bundle's validity ends. After that validity, the Rs 4 default rate applies again.
| Situation | Rate Zong lists | What *4004# changes |
|---|---|---|
| No bundle at all | Rs 4 + tax per MB | Data from balance is blocked |
| Bundle volume used, validity left | Rs 1 per MB | Data from balance is blocked |
| Bundle and add on both expired | Rs 4 + tax per MB | Data from balance is blocked |
| Inside an active bundle | Taken from the bundle | No change |
At Rs 4 per MB, 50 MB of background data costs Rs 200 before tax. That is our arithmetic from Zong's rate, and it explains most overnight losses.

Other Zong deductions that *4004# does not stop
Balance save blocks data only. Daily services such as Missed Call Alerts, My Status, caller tunes and game subscriptions keep charging until you unsubscribe each one. These are the codes Zong lists on its own pages.
| Service | Price Zong lists | How to stop it |
|---|---|---|
| Missed Call Alerts | Rs 1.78 + tax a day | Send UNSUB to 6226 |
| My Status | Rs 1.5 + tax a day | Send UNSUB to 6009 |
| Game Arena | From Rs 10 + tax a day | Send UnsubGA to 5580 |
| Gaming Royale | From Rs 10 + tax a day | Send Unsub to 4763 |
| Kido | From Rs 5 + tax a day | Send UnsubKido to 4433, or *6611# |
Caller tunes and Caller Name have their own codes, listed under the Zong unsubscribe code page. Bundles that renew by themselves are a separate leak, and the steps to check remaining Zong MBs and minutes show what is still active.
How to check that balance save is working
Dial *4004# once, then test with mobile data on and no bundle. If balance stays the same after a few minutes of browsing, the block is working. Zong's usage check *102# shows bundle use, at 10 paisa plus tax per check.
- Dial *4004# and wait for Zong's confirmation SMS.
- Note your balance with the method in how to check Zong balance.
- Turn on mobile data while no data bundle is active.
- Open one web page, then check your balance again.
- If balance dropped, call 310 and ask whether the service is active on your number.

Zong's FAQ says usage alerts arrive at 20, 50 and 80 per cent of a bundle, and again at 90 to 95 per cent. When the last one comes, buy the next bundle or switch data off. All bundle resources expire at 23:59 on the last day of validity.
Zong's recharge validity table still shows 30 to 90 days
On 24 October 2026, Zong's site showed 30 days for loads of Rs 50 to 99, 60 days for Rs 100 to 299, and 90 days for Rs 300 to 499. PTA set a minimum validity of 180 days for every prepaid recharge from 1 October 2026.
| Load amount | Validity on Zong's site |
|---|---|
| Rs 50 to 99 | 30 days |
| Rs 100 to 299 | 60 days |
| Rs 300 to 499 | 90 days |
| Rs 500 to 999 | 180 days |
| Rs 1,000 to 20,000 | 365 days |
We cannot tell from the page whether Zong still applies the shorter periods or has not updated the table. If your balance expires before 180 days, the route to get it back is set out in how to restore expired mobile balance.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 24 October 2026. We read Zong's Balance Save Offer page, its FAQ, the recharge validity table printed on its pages, its Missed Call Alerts, My Status, Game Arena, Gaming Royale and Kido pages, and its contact page, all on 24 October 2026. The PTA 180 day rule is from PTA's press release of 27 August 2026; pta.gov.pk refused connections on 24 October, so we could not reopen it. The 50 MB example is our arithmetic. We did not dial *4004# or test the block.
