Zong Doosra Number in Pakistan: A Second Number on Your SIM for Rs 1 a Day
Zong's Doosra Number adds a second number to your SIM: send SUB to 4600, pay Rs 1 plus tax a day, dial 46 to call from it. Your bundles do not work on it.

Zong's Doosra Number gives you a second mobile number on the same Zong SIM. Send SUB to 4600, or dial 4600, and Zong assigns a random extra number for Rs 1 plus tax a day on prepaid. Calls from it cost Rs 1.60 plus tax a minute, and you dial 46 before a number to call from it.
Plenty of people want a second number without a second phone: a tutor who does not want parents calling at midnight, a seller on an online marketplace, someone whose number has ended up in too many WhatsApp groups. Doosra means "second" in Urdu. We read Zong's Doosra Number page on zong.com.pk on 20 October 2026, and every rule below comes from it.
Doosra Number costs Rs 1 plus tax a day on prepaid
Zong charges prepaid users Rs 1 plus tax a day for the Doosra Number, and postpaid users Rs 30 plus tax a month. Calls made from the Doosra Number cost Rs 1.60 plus tax a minute on both. The 4600 helpline costs Rs 0.20 plus tax a minute.
| Charge | Prepaid | Postpaid |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | Rs 1 plus tax a day | Rs 30 plus tax a month |
| Calls from the Doosra Number | Rs 1.60 plus tax a minute | Rs 1.60 plus tax a minute |
| Calls from your main number | Your normal package rate | Your normal package rate |
| 4600 IVR menu | Rs 0.20 plus tax a minute | Rs 0.20 plus tax a minute |
| SMS HELP or INFO to 4612 | Rs 0.20 plus tax an SMS | Rs 0.20 plus tax an SMS |
Zong's terms say 19.5% sales tax applies on usage. On that basis, the prepaid fee comes to about Rs 1.20 a day, or about Rs 36 a month, and a Doosra call to about Rs 1.91 a minute. Ten minutes a day for 30 days would cost about Rs 610 in all. These are our sums, not Zong's.

Your bundles do not work on the Doosra Number
This is the catch most people miss. Zong says no voice or SMS bundle, and no value added service, can be used on the Doosra Number. Every outgoing minute is charged at Rs 1.60 plus tax, even if your main number has thousands of free minutes.
So the Doosra Number is best for receiving calls, and for short outgoing calls you want to keep private. For long chats, call from your main number. You also cannot recharge the Doosra Number. It runs on the balance of your main number, and stops working when that balance runs out.
How to get and use a Zong Doosra Number
You do not need to visit a franchise. Zong says the Doosra Number is attached to your active main number, so no CNIC or passport is asked for. The number is picked at random from Zong's stock, and you cannot choose or change it later.
- From your Zong number, send SUB to 4600, or dial 4600.
- Wait for the SMS that gives your new Doosra Number.
- To call from it, dial 46 before the number, for example 4603xxxxxxxxx.
- Calls to your Doosra Number arrive with 46 in front of the caller's number.
- To stop, send UNSUB to 4600 or use the 4600 IVR menu.

The 46 prefix is how you tell the two lines apart. If an incoming call shows 46 before the number, the caller dialled your Doosra Number. The person you call from it sees the Doosra Number, not your main one.
You can switch it off at night or block callers
Zong gives the Doosra Number three controls of its own. You can log it off, set a schedule so it logs off at set hours, and keep a block list. That block list is separate from the one on your main number.
Manage these through the 4600 IVR or by sending HELP to 4612. Send INFO to 4612 to see your current settings. Missed call alerts still work when the Doosra Number is off, Zong says, so you will know who tried to reach you. Your caller tune plays on both numbers, and changing it on the main number changes it on both.
For the main number, Zong runs a separate call block service. The codes for that, and for Jazz and Ufone, are in the guide to blocking calls and SMS from a number.
Five things the Doosra Number cannot do
- It cannot make international calls.
- It cannot receive or send balance, not even to your own main number.
- It cannot be ported to another network. Zong says if you port out the main number, the Doosra Number is held for you for 6 months.
- You can have only one Doosra Number.
- It cannot be changed once assigned.
The Doosra Number is tied to your SIM, and your SIM is tied to your CNIC. It is a privacy tool against strangers, not a way to hide from the law. Anyone who wants an entirely separate number in their name still needs a second SIM, and it is worth checking how many SIMs are on your CNIC first.
One small oddity: Zong's Doosra FAQ answers "Is the service available throughout Pakistan?" with a line about Yaari Load, its balance sharing service, saying FATA and PATA customers are not eligible. It looks like text copied from another page. If you are in those areas, ask Zong on 310 before relying on the service.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 20 October 2026. The charges, codes, prefixes and limits come from Zong's Doosra Number page on zong.com.pk, read on that date. The tax rate comes from the terms on the same page. Daily, monthly and per minute amounts after tax, and the ten minute example, are our own arithmetic. We did not subscribe to the service, so we could not confirm how the 46 prefix appears on every phone model.
