Porting your number to Zong is free. Zong's own price list shows "SIM Conversion (MNP)" as FOC, which means free of charge. Send MNP to 667, forward the reply to 76313, then complete biometric verification at a Zong outlet. PTA's porting rules give four days for a normal port.

We read Zong's SIM price page on 4 November 2026, along with PTA's MNP porting guidelines. MNP stands for mobile number portability: you keep your number, such as 0300 or 0333, and move it to Zong's network. Zong's website has no step by step MNP page, so the codes below come from PTA's guidelines. Zong does run an MNP helpline, 0314-3334455, listed on its contact page at normal call rates.

Zong charges nothing to port your number in

Zong's SIM price table lists every counter fee. Porting in costs nothing, while a new prepaid SIM costs Rs 300 and a replacement SIM costs Rs 400. That makes Zong cheaper to port into than Jazz, which lists Rs 300 for the same service on its site.

Service at a Zong counterPrice on Zong's page
SIM Conversion (MNP)Free (FOC)
Prepaid new SIMRs 300
Postpaid new SIMRs 300 plus security deposit
Data SIMRs 300
Change of SIMRs 400
eSIMRs 1,500

Zong's table does not say whether "free" covers postpaid ports. For postpaid, Zong lists a security deposit "as per tariff" on new connections, so expect one if you move a postpaid number. Ask at the counter before you start.

The Zong MNP code is 667, then 76313

PTA's porting guidelines give every operator its own short code for port requests. Zong runs under the company name CMPak, and its code is 76313. The first step, sending MNP to 667, is the same for every network.

Do not mix up the codes. 76300 is Jazz and 76333 is Ufone. Forwarding to the wrong code sends the request to the wrong network. Also note PTA's rejection code R09A: if the 667 service was not used within 10 calendar days before the request, the port can be refused.

How to port your number to Zong, step by step

The whole process takes one SMS pair and one shop visit. Zong's site has no online port-in form, unlike Ufone's, so plan for the visit.

  1. Use up your old prepaid balance and bundles first.
  2. Send MNP to 667 from the number you want to move.
  3. Forward the reply SMS to 76313.
  4. Take your original CNIC to a Zong customer service centre, franchise or retailer.
  5. Give your thumbprint for biometric verification.
  6. Collect the new Zong SIM and keep it safe.
  7. Keep using your old SIM until it stops working, then put the Zong SIM in.

Rules that can stop a port to Zong

PTA's guidelines list the reasons an operator can refuse a port. Most failures are one of these five. Check them before the shop visit so you do not waste a trip.

  • 60 day rule. No port for 60 calendar days after a number is activated, ported in, or changes owner.
  • Your own CNIC. The SIM must be in your name. Transfer it to yourself first if it is not.
  • Active number. Blocked or disconnected numbers cannot move.
  • Unpaid postpaid bill. Outstanding dues on the old network hold the request.
  • Pending change. A pending change of ownership or number blocks the port.

For a SIM in a relative's name, read our guide on changing SIM ownership first. The 60 day wait starts again after the transfer.

Four days, office hours only, and old balance is lost

PTA sets four days as the normal porting time for prepaid and postpaid, not counting holds. Porting work runs 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. A request on a Friday afternoon may not move until the next week.

The balance rule catches people out. PTA's guidelines say unused prepaid balance on the old number is not refunded or moved, on a "use or lose" basis. You can cancel a port before the final step, but any fee paid is not refunded. With Zong that fee is zero, so the risk is small.

PTA also says the operator you join cannot offer special packages only for ported-in customers. So any Zong offer you see is open to all its customers, not just people who switch. For the full process on every network, see porting a mobile number in Pakistan.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 4 November 2026. The free MNP conversion and the other counter prices are from Zong's SIM price page. The 667 and 76313 codes, four day porting time, business hours, 60 day rule, refusal reasons, balance rule and special package rule are from PTA's MNP Porting Process Guidelines dated 13 February 2020, which may have been updated since. The MNP helpline 0314-3334455 is from Zong's contact page. Zong's website has no MNP steps page, so we could not confirm the 76313 code on Zong's own site. We did not port a number ourselves.
