You apply for every Azad Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission job online at ajkpsc.gov.pk, and nowhere else. Pay the fee first, Rs 505 for most posts or Rs 1,005 for posts with a written exam, plus a Rs 10 bank charge. Then upload a scan of the paid challan and your photo with the form.

Those figures come from the AJK PSC's own Advertisement No. 2/2026, which we read on the commission's website on 3 October 2026. That advertisement closed on 25 September 2026 after three extensions, so nothing is open right now. The next one will follow the same rules, and the people who lose out are usually the ones who learn them on the last day.

One thing matters before anything else: these jobs are for state subjects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Without a State Subject certificate, this commission is not your route.

Who can apply for AJK PSC jobs

AJK PSC posts are open to residents of the State of Jammu and Kashmir holding a first class State Subject certificate. Each post then sets its own degree, age range and quota. Advertisement 2/2026 asked for ages 21 to 41 for Planning Officer, BS-17.

The advertisement lists the nationality condition for each post as "residents of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, class one". In practice that means the State Subject certificate, which the commission asks for at the document stage alongside your domicile. It is different from the domicile certificate issued in the provinces, so do not assume one replaces the other.

Age is the next filter. Most posts count it on the closing date. For three posts with a written exam in 2/2026, Assistant Conservator of Forests (BS-17), Forest Ranger (BS-16) and Section Officer (BS-17), the advertisement says age is counted from 1 January of the exam year.

Government employees and former soldiers can get the upper age limit relaxed under the rules, much like age relaxation for FPSC jobs works federally. Serving staff need proof from their department, and ex-servicemen need a discharge certificate.

AJK PSC application fee and where to pay it

The fee is Rs 505 for most posts and Rs 1,005 for posts with a written exam, each including a Rs 5 Kashmir Liberation Cess. A separate Rs 10 bank fee is charged. None of it is refundable. Pay at National Bank or MCB.

ItemWhat Advertisement 2/2026 says

The commission's FAQ page also lists the Bank of AJK as a place to pay. The latest advertisement names only National Bank and MCB. Follow the advertisement for the post you want, because it is the newer and more specific document.

Download the challan from the Downloads section of ajkpsc.gov.pk before you go to the bank, and keep the stamped original safe.

How to apply for an AJK PSC job online

Open the advertisement on ajkpsc.gov.pk, download the challan, pay the fee, scan the paid challan and your photo, then fill the online form before the last date. The form only stays open until the closing date of that advertisement.

  1. Go to ajkpsc.gov.pk, open Jobs, then Advertisements, and read the post's case number, degree, age and quota.
  2. Download the bank challan from Downloads and pay the fee at a National Bank or MCB branch.
  3. Scan the stamped challan to under 50 KB and your photo to under 30 KB.
  4. Open the online form linked with the advertisement and enter your full address, mobile number and email.
  5. Upload both scans, check every field, and submit before the closing date.
Five steps to apply for an AJK PSC job online

No hard copy of the form or your documents is needed at this stage. That saves a trip to Muzaffarabad, but it puts all the weight on what you type. And shrink your phone photo before you start: it is usually several megabytes, far over 30 KB.

The process is close to how KPPSC jobs are applied for online in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with one difference: in AJK the paid challan scan goes up with the form, so pay first.

Mistakes that get an AJK PSC application rejected

The commission treats what you type as final. You can edit the form only once, and only before the last date. A wrong email or mobile number is your problem, not the commission's, because call letters and alerts go there.

Advertisement 2/2026 lists these risks plainly. Read them before you press submit:

  • Wrong contact details. Test call letters come online, on the website or by SMS. If your number is wrong, you will not hear about your test.
  • Using the edit option early. There is one edit. Save it for a real mistake.
  • Losing the original challan. You must show the original bank receipt to the supervisory staff at the test. Without it you will not be allowed to sit the exam.
  • Documents dated after the closing date. Every degree, certificate and permission must be issued before the advertisement's last date.
  • A fourth attempt. A candidate who has already had three chances for a specific post is not eligible for it again.
Common mistakes that get an AJK PSC job application rejected

Test, documents and interview after you apply

Most AJK PSC posts start with a one paper MCQ test. Candidates high enough on merit then post attested copies of their documents within a week. Original documents are checked one day before the interview. Watch the website for every notice.

When a post needs one degree, the MCQ test covers that subject. When it accepts several degrees, the test is on general ability, with the syllabus on the commission's website.

Call letters come online. Under Downloads there is a "Print Exam Slip" page where you pick the post and enter your CNIC, 13 digits without dashes. On 22 September 2026 the commission said candidates for its September tests had to download call letters by 10:00 am on 28 September. It warned the website could be down for a week or more for maintenance. Candidates who could not download a letter were told to collect it from the commission's office in Jalalabad, Muzaffarabad.

After the test, the commission asks the shortlisted candidates for documents by registered post. The advertisement lists:

  • Matric, intermediate, graduation and master's certificates, and MPhil or PhD degrees where needed
  • CNIC
  • Experience and disability certificates, where needed
  • State Subject certificate (first class) and domicile certificate
  • Departmental permission, if you are a government employee

Miss the one week window or send an incomplete set and your candidature can be cancelled. Keep a scanned set ready before you even apply.

Objections and current AJK PSC openings

If you object to anything in an advertisement other than the degree, you have 30 days from publication to take it to the relevant forum. The commission says it accepts no excuse after that. Advertisement 2/2026 closed on 25 September 2026.

On 1 October 2026 the commission posted a court stay order on the Assistant Accounts Officer post in the Food Department. Interviews for lecturers and Forest Prosecutor run from 13 to 21 October 2026.

No new advertisement was open when we checked on 3 October 2026. When the next one comes, it appears under Jobs, then Advertisements. The commission also publishes it in newspapers. If you are applying to more than one commission at a time, the list of portals in applying for government jobs online keeps them in one place.
