Pakistani athletes aged 12 to 25 can apply to the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) National Talent Identification and Verification System (NTIVS) online, free of charge, in Urdu or English. Cricket is excluded. You send performance footage, proof of your results and supporting papers through the PSB website.

PSB announced the system on 5 May 2026. It is meant to replace informal selection with a written, merit-based path to national level sport. We read the announcement on the PSB website on 8 October 2026. This guide turns it into steps you can follow.

Steps to apply for the PSB National Talent Identification and Verification System in Pakistan

Check that you can apply before you start

You can apply if you are a Pakistani citizen aged 12 to 25 and you play a sport that PSB recognises through a national federation. Cricket is not included, because it runs through its own board. There is no application fee.

RequirementWhat PSB says
NationalityPakistani
Age12 to 25 years
SportAny PSB-affiliated sport except cricket
FeeNone
LanguageUrdu or English
DeadlineNone, applications are rolling

The announcement does not say how PSB counts age, for example on the day you apply or on a fixed date. Ask PSB if you are close to either limit. To see which sports count, read our guide to the 40 national sports federations PSB recognises.

Gather your footage and proof of results

PSB asks for performance footage, verifiable achievements and supporting documents. Prepare these before you open the form, because a weak file is the most likely reason an application goes nowhere. Keep everything honest and checkable.

  1. Record a clear video of you playing or performing in your sport. Show your full body and the skill that matters most.
  2. List your results with dates, such as district, provincial or school championships.
  3. Collect certificates, match sheets or letters from your coach or club that prove each result.
  4. Keep a copy of your CNIC or B-Form to show your age and nationality.
  5. Write down your sport, your event or position and your coach's name.

The announcement does not list the exact documents or the video length. We could not confirm them, so check the form itself. If you play in a district or provincial team, ask your association for a signed letter.

Submit the online application on the PSB website

You apply through the PSB website, sports.gov.pk, and not through a school, club or agent. Submissions are accepted all year. The announcement we read does not give a direct link to the form, so start from the PSB home page.

Fill in every field, upload your footage and documents, and save any reference number you receive. Do not pay anyone who offers to apply for you or promises a place. PSB says there is no fee.

If you also want training while you wait, read about the PSB coaching centres in Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar. Players in Punjab can look at the free Sports Board Punjab cricket academies, which are separate from NTIVS.

Prepare for the physical evaluation camps

PSB says physical evaluation happens at centres in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and Skardu. If your application is taken forward, you would be called to the nearest one. The announcement gives no dates for the camps.

Province or regionEvaluation centre
Islamabad Capital TerritoryIslamabad
PunjabLahore
SindhKarachi
Khyber PakhtunkhwaPeshawar
BalochistanQuetta
Azad KashmirMuzaffarabad
Gilgit-BaltistanGilgit and Skardu

Train as you normally would and stay fit. Bring your kit, shoes, water and your identity papers. Ask PSB how travel is handled, because the announcement is silent on that.

What NTIVS does not promise

NTIVS identifies and checks young athletes. It does not promise a place in a national team, a scholarship or a salary. PSB gives no figures on how many athletes it will pick, so treat it as one more door and keep playing in your local competitions.

Selection for national teams still goes through the national federations. For a major event, see how Pakistan did at the 2026 Asian Games to understand the level that is expected.

Common questions about NTIVS

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 8 October 2026. We read the PSB announcement of the National Talent Identification and Verification System on sports.gov.pk, dated 5 May 2026. It gives the age range, the sports covered, the free and rolling application, the language options and the eight evaluation centres. It does not give the form link, the document list, the video length, evaluation dates or selection numbers, so we have not stated any of those. Confirm them with PSB at infopsb@sports.gov.pk or 051-9202412, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
