BankIslami paid individual savers 7.4286% a year for September 2026 on Islami Bachat, Premium Saving, Asaan and Kids accounts with balances under Rs 10 million. Its only term deposit open for booking, the 1-Year Term Deposit Monthly Payout, paid 8.5021%. Companies and balances above Rs 10 million got 2.5031%.

BankIslami is an Islamic bank, so it does not promise a fixed rate in advance. It shares the actual profit of each pool at the end of the month and publishes the result. We read the declared rates for July, August and September 2026 on BankIslami's rates and weightages page on 1 November 2026. Below is every savings account, every term deposit slab, how the rate has moved, and what Rs 1 million earns.

BankIslami savings paid individuals 7.4286% for September

For September 2026, BankIslami paid 7.4286% a year to individuals on its main rupee savings accounts, up to the Rs 10 million line. Above that line, and for companies and other legal entities, the same accounts paid 2.5031%. These are declared rates, worked out after the month ended.

The sheet marks every individual line with a footnote. It says the profit goes to individual account holders "in compliance of BPRD Circular Letter No. 15 Dated July 06, 2026". That is SBP's letter limiting the minimum profit rule to individuals with balances up to Rs 10 million, which is why the rate falls so sharply above that line.

BankIslami declared savings profit rates for individuals and companies, September 2026

The individual savings rate went from 8.14% to 6.78% to 7.43%

BankIslami's Islami Bachat paid 8.1401% to everyone for July 2026. For August it split the rate: 6.7787% for individuals under Rs 10 million and 3.0030% for others. September then rose to 7.4286% for individuals and fell to 2.5031% for others.

The July sheet had no separate individual line, because SBP's Rs 10 million limit took effect on 1 August. So the first month under the new rule paid individuals 1.36 points less than July, and the second month gave back 0.65 points. Monthly declared rates move like this. Do not read one month as a promise for the next.

BankIslami term deposits paid 5.01% to 10.02% in September

Most BankIslami general pool term deposits paid between 5.0% and 5.6% for September, far below savings. Five year deposits paid 8.07% to 9.47%, and the ten year monthly deposit paid 10.0154%. The one product open for new booking, a one year monthly payout deposit, paid 8.5021%.

Here is the smallest slab, Rs 0 to Rs 0.49 million, for each tenor and payout.

Bigger slabs earn slightly more. A five year deposit at maturity paid 9.1650% from Rs 1 million and 9.4655% from Rs 5 million to Rs 9.99 million. Separately, the TDR pool shows twelve older products. Eleven are closed to new money, and most of them paid 5.0029%.

The honest summary: for September, a one year general pool deposit at BankIslami paid about 2.3 points less than an individual savings account. Only the 1-Year Term Deposit Monthly Payout, at 8.5021%, beat savings.

BankIslami term deposit rates by tenor at maturity, September 2026

Rs 1 million at BankIslami earned about Rs 6,190 a month

At September's 7.4286%, Rs 1 million in an individual Islami Bachat account earned about Rs 6,190 a month before tax. In the 1-Year Term Deposit Monthly Payout at 8.5021%, it earned about Rs 7,085 a month. A conventional bank paying 10% would give about Rs 8,333.

Those are our sums from BankIslami's declared rates. The gap with conventional banks is real and it is not a BankIslami quirk. Islamic banks share pool profit under a different SBP rule, which we explain in why Islamic bank savings pay less. Withholding tax also comes off the profit, so check the tax on bank profit.

  1. Open BankIslami's rates and weightages page and find the newest "Declared Rates PKR FCY" file. It appears after the month ends.
  2. Find your product in the General Pool table, then read across to your balance band.
  3. Use the row marked "(Individual)" if you are a person with under Rs 10 million. Use the plain row if you are a company or above that line.
  4. For term deposits, check the Remarks column. Only products marked "Available for Booking" take new money.
  5. Compare the rate with the profit credited to your account for that month.
Four steps to read BankIslami's monthly declared profit rate sheet

October 2026 rates come out in November

BankIslami publishes each month's declared rates in the following month. The September sheet was uploaded in October, so October's rates should appear in November 2026. SBP's policy rate rise to 12% on 27 October will show up in later months, not in September's figures.

Islamic banks do not follow the conventional 10.5% minimum directly, so do not expect the individual rate to jump to that number in November. For how BankIslami compares with conventional banks, see the savings account rates at major banks. If you have not set up mobile banking yet, BankIslami app registration lets you see each month's profit credit.

Foreign currency savings paid very little. For September, USD Islami Bachat paid 0.1825% and the USD Islami Amdani Certificate paid 0.4368% for one year at maturity.
