For an SPSC interview, bring your original documents and one attested photocopy of each, a printed application form with the fee receipt, and your equivalence certificate if you applied with a foreign degree. SPSC posts the interview schedule on its website at least seven days ahead. The interview carries 100 marks, and 33 is the minimum to pass.

The interview is where a paper problem becomes a rejection. A missing original or a wrong attestation can end a candidacy that a good written result had earned. We read the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) Recruitment Management Regulations (RMR) on spsc.gov.pk on 15 October 2026. Regulations 42, 46, 101, 102 and 121 set the interview rules.

Bring the originals, one attested photocopy of each, and the fee receipt

Regulation 101 says candidates called for interview must bring their original documents and one attested photocopy of all the required documents. The dealing official compares the two. Regulation 46 adds a print of the application form with the fee payment receipt, and attestation by an officer of BPS-17 or above.

Bring to the interviewForm
Matric, intermediate, degree certificates and marks sheetsOriginal and one attested copy
Domicile and PRC (Form D)Original and one attested copy
Experience certificate, if the post needs itOriginal and one attested copy
No Objection Certificate, if you are in government serviceOriginal and one attested copy
Printed application form with fee receiptPrint
Equivalence certificate, if it was still in processOriginal, produced at interview

The attestation line comes from regulation 46, which requires an officer of BPS-17 or above. Regulation 101 was substituted in 2024 and speaks of an attested photocopy without naming a grade. Follow the stricter rule and use a BPS-17 officer, so the copy cannot be questioned.

Documents to carry to a Sindh Public Service Commission interview

SPSC publishes the schedule at least seven days ahead

Regulation 102 says the interview schedule of written-qualified candidates must be hosted on the commission's website, with a gap of seven days so candidates can make arrangements. Letters also go by courier, and candidates are told by SMS, phone and apps such as WhatsApp.

Do not wait for the courier. Check the Interview Programmes page of the SPSC website yourself. Our guide on how to check an SPSC written or interview result shows where the lists sit on the site.

  1. Open the SPSC Interview Programmes page and find your post.
  2. Note your date, time and venue.
  3. Collect the originals and get one attested copy of each.
  4. Print your application form and the fee receipt.
  5. Arrive early with your original CNIC.
Five steps to prepare for an SPSC interview

A fixable gap can be cured before the last interview date

Regulation 42 covers deficiencies found at interview. The committee chairman decides whether the gap can be fixed before the last date of the scheduled interview. If so, you may be interviewed and must fill the gap by that last date. If not, or if you fail to fix it, your candidature is rejected.

The chairman writes the reason on the interview sheet. If the matter is grave, the rejection is recorded with reasons and posted on the commission's portal, and the candidate is told by SMS. That is why a document you can fetch the same week is far better than a promise to bring it.

What happens when SPSC finds a gap in a candidate's documents at interview

The interview carries 100 marks and 33 is the pass mark

Regulation 121 says the interview for all posts other than the Combined Competitive Examination and the engineering competitive exam carries a maximum of 100 marks. For every post, including those exams, 33 per cent is the minimum passing mark. A pass mark alone does not secure a seat, because recommendations go by merit.

The commission adds written marks and interview marks, ranks candidates by merit quota-wise, and releases the result on its website. Regulation 121-A keeps the interview sheets and recordings confidential. A candidate or a representative cannot ask to see them.

Write to the Secretary yourself, not through a representative

Regulation 48 says all letters, appeals and requests must go to the Secretary, SPSC, Hyderabad, signed by the candidate. SPSC will not entertain a representation made on a candidate's behalf. For an email, the regulation says the Secretary must make sure of a reply within ten working days.

Regulation 47, on appeals against rejection, was deleted by an office order dated 12 August 2026. The RMR page we read lists no replacement. So write early, keep copies and do not count on a long appeal route. For a live example of listed posts, see SPSC Advertisement 05/2026.

Common questions about SPSC interview documents

Do I need originals or copies for an SPSC interview?

Both. Regulation 101 asks for the originals and one attested photocopy of each required document.

Who can attest my copies?

Regulation 46 says an officer of BPS-17 or above. Use a BPS-17 officer to be safe.

How much notice does SPSC give for an interview?

At least seven days on its website. Letters, SMS and calls follow, but the website is the one to check.

What if one document is missing on the day?

The chairman may let you sit if the gap can be fixed by the last date of the scheduled interview. If not, your candidature can be rejected.

How many marks do I need to pass the interview?

33 per cent is the minimum. Most posts carry 100 interview marks, so that means 33 marks.

Can a relative write to SPSC for me?

No. Regulation 48 says SPSC does not entertain representations on a candidate's behalf.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 15 October 2026. We read regulations 31, 42, 46 to 48, 101, 102 and 121 of the SPSC Recruitment Management Regulations, 3rd edition with amendments, on spsc.gov.pk. The RMR page lists a scanned amendment dated 13 October 2026, which we could not read. Individual advertisements or interview letters may add requirements, so follow the letter you receive. We did not attend an interview.
