Short answer: Open AIOU's date sheet page, choose the Spring 2026 sheet for your programme, and look up each course code against your programme column. Papers for open, certificate, SSC, HSSC and degree programmes run from 1 September to 31 October 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

An AIOU student does not get one neat timetable. The date sheet is a grid of course codes. Find your four-digit code in the wrong column, and you read the wrong day. This is how to read it right.

We downloaded and read the main Spring 2026 date sheet on AIOU's website on 12 October 2026, along with today's notice on papers moved in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This is what it contains.

The main Spring 2026 date sheet covers seven programme groups

AIOU notified the sheet on 17 August 2026 under the number F.1-1/Spring-2026/Conduct/3837. It covers open and certificate courses, SSC, HSSC, 14BH, 16BH, 16MT and PGD programmes. Each has its own column, and the same course code can sit in more than one.

Sundays are skipped. Papers run on Saturdays. Most days carry several course codes, so one day can have papers for different programmes at the same hour.

Find the right sheet for your programme before you look for a code

AIOU keeps more than one Spring 2026 sheet. The main one is for open and certificate courses, SSC, HSSC and the degree programmes. The page also lists a sheet for MS, MPhil and PhD face-to-face programmes, one for overseas students, an OPS sheet and a faculty sheet.

Read the sheet's title line first. If your programme is in that title, you are in the right place. If not, go back to the list on the date sheet page and try the next one.

These sheets are for the Spring 2026 semester only. A new student who joined for Autumn 2026 will get a separate schedule, and the intake is covered in AIOU Autumn 2026 admission.

Use the code, not the course name, to find your paper

The grid lists course codes such as 346, 1349 or 8461. Take the codes of the courses you enrolled in and search for each one in your programme's column. Write down the date and day next to each.

The code in your column matters. For example, on 3 September the sheet lists code 205 in the SSC column and 399 in the HSSC column. A student reading across the whole row could mistake a different programme's paper for their own.

A code can appear on two days for different programmes. Use only the column that matches your programme. If the code is missing from your column, check the other sheets and then ask your regional office.

Papers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 12 and 13 October moved to November

If your centre is in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the sheet's 12 and 13 October dates no longer hold. AIOU moved them to 2 and 3 November, except at the Abbottabad regional campus centres. The full notice is in the report on AIOU moving KP papers to 2 and 3 November.

The notice says admit cards stay valid for the new dates, venues and timings. Your other papers stay as printed. Read your admit card for the venue and the paper day.

The new days fall after the 31 October last date on the main sheet. Plan any travel for them separately.

How to build your own exam list in five steps

A written list saves a missed paper. It takes ten minutes.

  1. Open AIOU's date sheet page and choose the Spring 2026 sheet for your programme.
  2. List the course codes you are enrolled in this semester.
  3. Find each code in your programme's column and note the date, day and time.
  4. Compare each date with your admit card. If they differ, trust the admit card and the latest notice.
  5. Check the notice board and website again a week before your first paper.
Five steps to find your AIOU Spring 2026 exam date by course code

Keep a printed copy with your admit card and a CNIC. Papers start at 2 pm, so plan the journey with traffic in mind. Arrive early.

Other universities run their own end-term papers

AIOU's date sheets only cover AIOU. If you also study at another open university, its papers follow a separate sheet. For one example, see the Virtual University Kashmir end-term papers.

A notice can move papers in one province and leave another untouched, as the KP notice does for Abbottabad.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the AIOU date sheet page, the main Spring 2026 sheet and the notice Postponement of AIOU Exams in KPK on 12 October 2026. We did not read the MS, MPhil and PhD sheet in full, so check it separately if you are in those programmes.
