AIOU Moves Spring 2026 Exams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa From 12 and 13 October to 2 and 3 November
AIOU moved its Spring 2026 papers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to 2 and 3 November 2026. See which centres are affected and why your admit card stays valid today.

Short answer: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has moved its Spring 2026 papers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The papers due on 12 October are now on 2 November, and the papers due on 13 October are now on 3 November. Admit cards, venues and timings stay the same.
The university issued the notification on Monday 12 October 2026, the same day the first papers were due. It cites the law-and-order situation in the province. Students in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Bannu and every other KP centre outside Abbottabad are covered.
We read the notification on AIOU's own website on 12 October 2026. This report sets out what it says, what it leaves out, and what a student should do before 2 November.
AIOU moved the 12 and 13 October papers to 2 and 3 November
AIOU's Department of Examinations notified that the Spring 2026 papers scheduled on 12 and 13 October at its KP examination centres are rescheduled. The new dates are 2 November and 3 November 2026. No other day in the date sheet is changed by this notice.
| Date on the original date sheet | New date |
|---|---|
| Monday 12 October 2026 | Monday 2 November 2026 |
| Tuesday 13 October 2026 | Tuesday 3 November 2026 |

The notification is numbered F.1-1/Spring-26/Conduct/3916 and is signed by the Additional Controller of Examinations. It applies to the Spring 2026 semester.
Abbottabad and the rest of the country are not affected
The change covers all examination centres in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa except the centres of the Regional Campus Abbottabad, which serves the Hazara Division. Exams elsewhere in Pakistan go ahead as already notified.
That split matters for students who live on a border between regions. Your exam centre, not your home district, decides which rule you follow. Look at the centre named on your admit card.
The notification does not list individual KP cities. It says "all the exam centres in KPK". We will not guess which smaller centres count under that wording. If your centre is in KP and not under the Abbottabad campus, treat your 12 or 13 October paper as moved.
Your admit card stays valid for the new dates
The notification says admit cards already issued remain valid for the revised dates, examination venues and timings. You do not need a new card and you do not need to apply for a change.
The date printed on the card will now be wrong for the moved paper. The venue and the time are still right. Keep the card safe and bring it on 2 or 3 November.
AIOU's main Spring 2026 date sheet for open and certificate courses, SSC, HSSC, 14BH, 16BH, 16MT and PGD programmes gives the paper time as 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. That sheet was notified on 17 August 2026. We have no sign that the afternoon slot changed for the moved papers, and the new notice says timings remain as they were.
The new days fall after the main date sheet ends
AIOU's 17 August date sheet for these programmes runs from 1 September to 31 October 2026. The two new days, 2 and 3 November, sit after that last date. So KP students will finish later than students in the rest of the country.
This also means your other KP papers are not moved by this notice. Only the papers that fell on 12 and 13 October were rescheduled. Check the date sheet for the rest of your courses on the same page where AIOU keeps all its date sheets.
If you want the full routine for finding your own paper by course code, the steps are in how to read the AIOU Spring 2026 date sheet.
What KP students should do now
Do three things. Confirm your paper was one of the two moved days. Write the new date next to your admit card. Then tell anyone who is travelling to your centre, because the old date will still be on printed copies and shared images.
- Open your admit card and find the date, course code and centre of each paper.
- Check whether any paper falls on 12 or 13 October and the centre is in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, not Abbottabad.
- Write the new date, 2 November or 3 November, on the card in pencil. Do not cross out the printed one.
- Keep the same venue and time. Re-read the notification on AIOU's website if you are unsure.
- Watch AIOU's website and your CMS account for any further notice before 2 November.

The same security situation has moved other exams in the province
AIOU is not the only body to move papers this week. The matric second annual papers of the KP boards were postponed from 12 October. The boards at Mardan and Malakand did it first, as set out in the report on the BISE Mardan and Malakand postponement.
A federal recruitment test round in the province was also put off, as covered in the note on FPSC Phase 3 tests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Each body sets its own new dates. A date from one does not apply to another.
AIOU gave no reason beyond the law-and-order situation and the advice of its regional heads. We have not added one.

Common questions
Which AIOU papers in KP were moved?
The Spring 2026 papers scheduled on 12 and 13 October 2026 at KP examination centres, except the Abbottabad regional campus centres. They are now on 2 and 3 November.
Do I need a new admit card?
No. AIOU says admit cards already issued stay valid for the revised dates, venues and timings.
Is my Abbottabad centre affected?
No. Centres of the Regional Campus Abbottabad, which serves the Hazara Division, are excluded from the change, so those papers stay on the original dates.
What if my KP paper is on another date in October?
It stays as printed. The notification moves only the 12 and 13 October papers.
Will AIOU move the dates again?
We cannot say. The notice gives fixed new dates, but the reason is the security situation, which can change. Watch AIOU's website before 2 November.
Where is the official notice?
On AIOU's home page and in its news section, titled "Postponement of AIOU Exams in KPK", dated 12 October 2026.
How we verified this
