The Punjab matric result is out. The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen declared the 10th class result at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday 6 August 2026, simultaneously across all nine boards: Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Sargodha and DG Khan.

Position holders came a day earlier, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday 5 August, which is why some students saw toppers announced while their own result showed nothing. That gap has now closed. Below is every official portal, each one requested and checked by us, plus what to do while the sites are under load.

The pass mark is 40 per cent now, not 33

Before you read your result, know the rule it was marked against, because it has changed and a lot of families are still working off the old one.

The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen raised the minimum passing marks from 33 per cent to 40 per cent, and the requirement is per subject rather than an overall aggregate. Passing overall is not enough. A student needs 40 marks out of 100 in each subject to be counted successful, and where a subject has theory and practical components the standard applies to those as well.

The practical consequence today: a mark in the thirties that would have been a pass two years ago is a fail now, and the subject goes to supplementary. If a result looks worse than expected, this is very often why, and it is not a marking error.

The only two things you need

Your roll number, exactly as printed on the admit card, and your own board's website. That is the whole system.

Both trip people up. The roll number from memory is wrong often enough that half the "my result is missing" panic on announcement day is a transposed digit, so check a result against the card, not against what a friend remembers. And the board that issued your roll number is the only one that has your result: a Lahore roll number returns nothing on the Rawalpindi site, and the pages look similar enough that people spend an hour on the wrong one.

The official portals, verified

That is all nine Punjab boards plus the federal, Peshawar, Abbottabad and Karachi systems, every one of them requested again on the evening of 5 August and every one returning a live page.

One correction we owe you from yesterday. When we first published this table, BISE Abbottabad's address did not resolve for us, on the very day its result came out, and we said so. It resolves now. If it failed for you too, try it again.

The pattern for any board not listed is consistent: bise plus the city, on .edu.pk. Type the address rather than clicking a search ad, because result night is when the paid lookalikes bid hardest.

The SMS route, and why we are not printing a code table

Every board runs an SMS result service alongside the website, and on announcement day it often answers while the site is buckling. The federal board's 5050 shortcode is the widely documented example: roll number in, result back.

Here is why this guide does not print a table of codes for every board: the codes vary by board, change between years, and are the single most misquoted detail in this entire genre. A wrong portal address wastes your time; a wrong shortcode can cost money. Each board publishes its current code with the result announcement itself, and that announcement is the place to take it from.

When the site will not load

It will, for the first hour. Every student, parent and aunt refreshes at once, and these are not servers built for that.

1. Wait ten minutes and try again. The crush passes faster than it feels.
2. Use the SMS route from the board's announcement, which runs on different infrastructure.
3. Try the gazette. Most boards publish the full result as a downloadable gazette; one download serves the whole street.
4. Do not panic-search. The lookalike result sites mirror official data late, incompletely, and sometimes wrong, and announcement hour is when they harvest the most traffic.

And a flat rule that should not need saying but does: checking a result is free, everywhere, always. Anyone charging to check, promising early access, or offering to "improve" marks for a fee is running the same class of scam we keep documenting, from fake laptop scheme selections to fake e-challan texts. Result season is their harvest too.

After the result

Three practical notes for the week after.

Save the on-screen result, but treat it as provisional. The document that matters is the result card the school distributes; the web page is for the phone call to your grandmother.

Rechecking exists and has a deadline. Every board runs a window, typically brief, for applying to have papers rechecked against a fee. If a mark looks impossible, the application goes in fast or not at all. The window and fee are on your board's site with the announcement.

Supplementary exams follow the annual result. If the result was not what was needed, the supplementary schedule is published by the same board, and the gap between them is short enough that the decision to sit again should not wait.
